The year-and-a-half-old ABC “scoop”, in which Newt Gingrich’s ex boasts her one interview could end her one time hubby’s political career, is more about the contemporary media than it is about a presidential candidate. The Daily Beast’s Howard Kurtz said a mouthful when he posited that Marianne Gingrich does not say anything in the new interview that she hasn’t said in the past.The Esquire already ran with the same story in September 2010, if anyone cares. Notice how quickly the story of another election-year smear has morphed over to WHEN ABC will air it.

I'm reserving judgment until I see the interview. What someone told Kurtz may or may not be true.
Not to mention this get some Democrat votes. Particularly the folks who voted for Edwards and Clinton.

Media sees Newt rising in the polls in SC and has to do what it can to protect Obama by protecting Romney until the GOP convention.
Hell hath no fury like a woman who got her man by cheating with him on his previous wife, when she finds out that (Surprise Surprise!) he is now cheating on HER with the woman who will become his NEXT wife.

Marianne is simply proving that she has no class and that she would have been a lousy first lady.
This story is aimed squarely at women voters; which confirms the vision and wisdom of our Founders in not granting that right in the Constitution.
Gingrich and his “throw this reputedly conservative candidate against a wall and see if he sticks” bandwagon have only themselves to blame. Newt’s antics were well known before he gave up the speakership almost a decade ago. There were a different set of rules for Democrats than Republicans then and its wishful thinking to claim that it’s different now. That said, Obama’s bunch is very skillfully manipulating events. If you believe Ann Coulter, Axelrod and Co. have been using the same technique since Obama first sought political office. Republicans need to open their minds and start playing by new rules. Or come to think of it, old rules. Brokered convention. Nominate a person that isn’t in the current weak field who is acceptable to all of the other contestants. They need to give voters something credible to vote for and resume attacking Obama’s record relentlessly. Otherwise, Obama will accidently get reelected, and people will give up on the GOP when they should be abandoning the Democrats.
After reading the article in Esquire last year, I vowed I’d never support Gingrich. The guy has no core. Whats scary is its in his own words. Go read the article and then tell me this stuff is irrelevant or just a “hit job”. Gingrich lacks good judgement to be POTUS and we should’nt be so quick to lower ourselves to run to him. He’s a dirtbag

Her viciousness proves Newt was correct to cut her loose. She will say anything to damage him now. Every word she speaks should increase Newt’s public support.
What’s the difference between Bill Clinton vs. Newt Gingrich handling of sexually tainted information on them? Newt didn’t hire a squad of goons to go out and “rough up” to shut up the accuser.
The liberals prefer Democrat candidates who are serial cheaters on their wives, or who accumulate hundreds of millions of dollars WHILE they’re president. No double standard here. /sarc

The media hasn’t even started to mention the hypocrisy of the Clinton impeachment and Newt’s open marriage either. Yes they are two different things but the media will lump them together.
