Newt World Responds to ABC Buzz
NRO ^ | 1/18/2012 | Robert Costa

Bob Walker, a senior Gingrich adviser, says the campaign will fight back. “It is pretty nasty to use personal tragedy for political exploitation,” he says. “That was a very bitter divorce, and you’re talking about somebody who is still, probably, very bitter.”

Below, Gingrich’s daughters issue a memo to ABC News:

To: ABC News Leadership

From: Kathy Lubbers, Jackie Cushman

Date: January 18, 2012

The failure of a marriage is a terrible and emotional experience for everyone involved. Anyone who has had that experience understands it is a personal tragedy filled with regrets, and sometimes differing memories of events.

We will not say anything negative about our father’s ex-wife. He has said before, privately and publicly, that he regrets any pain he may have caused in the past to people he loves.

ABC News or other campaigns may want to talk about the past, just days before an important primary election. But Newt is going to talk to the people of South Carolina about the future– about job creation, lower taxes, and about who can defeat Barack Obama by providing the sharpest contrast to his damaging, extreme liberalism. We are confident this is the conversation the people of South Carolina are interested in having.

Our father is running for President because of his grandchildren – so they can inherit the America he loves. To do that, President Obama must be defeated. And as the only candidate in the race, including Obama, who has actually helped balance the national budget, create jobs, reform welfare, and cut taxes and spending, Newt felt compelled to run – to serve his country and safeguard his grandchildren’s future.

If he loses this race, he isn’t a politician, is he? He would have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

The "pharisees" in the Democrat party--and in the general population--can point to Newt and say he is a "poor miserable sinner", as many Lutherans give confession to be during their Communion worship services.

Many might be able to say they have never--in their action--broken the Ten Commandments, but they know that by the standard set by Jesus--who knows their hearts and minds--they are still sinning in thought and word, if not deed.

May God grant to Newt--and to us all-- the wisdom to understand that "righteousness" is a "robe" we can "put on" ONLY because it was given to us beacause of God's grace and Christ's sacrifice, and it is "white" ONLY because it has been "washed in the blood of the Lamb".

Once a politicians always a politician, and that applies to anyone that ever won and/or run for office. There is no other definition. When you sue someone, you are required to go into a room and have that persons attorney ask you any question he wishes for as long as he wishes. I have been in court rooms where a man and a woman tear each other apart and if you have ever had one little kinky thing happen in your sex life the whole court will know about it shortly. I was there as an expert witness, but damn it was always embarrassing.

Then you would have hated Churchill and Reagan in their younger days. Both turned out to be great leaders.

Pray for America

Newt put a roof over her head, fed and clothe her for 19 yrs, many happy and at the end not so happy years.

She should be grateful. Both gave love a chance and it failed.

I remember this woman at the elementary school saying they were moving to Utah and I said “oh I am so sorry” and she said “why” and I said, “are you Mormon?” and she said they were so then I quickly said “oh you’ll love it”......

LOL. Yep. My worst fear was that MrR would get a federal job and we would be assigned to Utah.

Being non-LDS there is hard enough, being an outspoken ex-mormon like me is hell.

Even when I lived there and was LDS, it was a very weird place to live.

it’s funny...I know usually which posters here are gals and which not

and which are womanless male posters...who usually ape what the women say..FR romanticism and all

but on this Newt stuff...it looks pretty split

some chicks here detest Newt and adore the scorned mistress who became his 2nd wife

and other women are cool as grits about it and refuse to fall for the media and Romney war machine

I wish JR would do a poll...

btw...I like Newt...unless he’s a pedophile or tranny...I can deal with it

he married his high school teacher who was quite older when she got preggers...that failed..yep..he cheated..do we know for a fact she never did?

second wife was a woman he cheated with on first wife...

folks here act like he’s Bill Clinton or something

why?

because they are mad their candidate can’t make sustained hay and cannot compete with Mitt nationally or in debates

now if something crazy pops then we can have another conversation

Obama used Jack Ryan’s divorce to get elected Senator.

Who do you think is behind these attacks?

When are they going to interview Larry Sinclair?

no, the marriage didn’t “fail” Newt murdered it

Is this a first hand witness account? NO I am NOT for adultery... however, I also know it is NOT the unforgivable 'sin' and 99% of the time there are two sides to every 'divorce'. Just for the record, I have just as much animus about Newt for couching it with that lying stealing liberal Nanny the RED PEWLouise, and his uttering the words 'the era of Reagan is over'... Now exactly where he got indoctrinated with that notion is still a mystery. But I think the cult of Nostradamus is partially behind all this 'fear' mongering of man made climate change.

Steaming pile of BS. Any other time except now would have been worth at least a listen. Newt's got my vote just because of this crap.

Ginrich has been waffly ever since he quit Congress in the 90's.

Nothing new. Some of us have known about his character for years. We have also knows he was going to try for the Presidency eventually. Now, it's not that he's a terrible man...he just does not have the character for national office. Marianne knows that.

Some are fooled by his current charisma. But he would disappoint these same people within a month of taking office. He does not hold a sustained position.

Newt is great as a TV personality. And that's where he should stay.

The marriage was shaky because he had high ambitions and she knew that wasn't going to work.

So she warned him. Too bad he didn't heed his wife but went traipsing elsewhere.

He may have led a better life had he settle for faithfulness as every husband should. Certainly he would have been more widely respected by those of us who can spot weak character.

I think Obama is behind this, not Romney.
ABC is in the tank for Romney.
This is all being orchestrated by Obama.

BUMP to that....
