Are Jesse Jackson, Sr. and Jesse Jackson, Jr. members of the board? That could explain the shortage.

It’s either Reparations, or Redistribution Of Wealth.

The Smithsonian has an Air & Space Museum -- a lot of folks like airplanes and space exploration.
Most cities have Art Museums -- a lot of folks like Art.

Slavery Museum? -- why the hell would I go?

Been hearing about the Slavery Museum for a long time .... I doubt it is ever going to happen. Looks like the vultures might be moving in and picking the financial bones clean (although the Museum atty disputes a shortfall).

"As part of its efforts to seek federal bankruptcy protection, the United States National Slavery Museum is trying to stop the appointment of an examiner to review its finances."

Not surprised. A national disgrace kept very quiet, with the exception of some persisent local reporters. A review of the books (if they even kept any) would result in criminal indictments for several prominent players in this farce. As soon as money started rolling in, it vaporized. The whole thing was run like a corrupted Third World kleptocracy, and nobody dared say anything for fear of being labled racist.

Huh. I never had much use for Doug Wilder when he was Governor, but I never figured him for a crook. Arrogant, self-righteous prick? Yeah. Embezzler? Wouldn’t have imagined.

Have they played the race card yet, that asking them to reveal their finances is nothing more than Jim Crow rearing its ugly head?
