PRINCETON, NJ -- Mitt Romney is the now the only candidate that a majority of conservative and moderate/liberal Republicans nationwide see as an "acceptable" GOP nominee for president. Conservative Republicans are more likely to say Romney would be an acceptable nominee than either Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum.

I have not met a single Conservative in Mississippi that would pee on mitt if he were on fire.

Well I will state unequivocally that I am one Mississippian that would piss on Romney even if he wasn't on fire...

I’m thinking that Hillary gets the nomination - if the Alabama or Georgia case results in Obama’s decertification, all hell will break lose.

I will vote Mitt if forced, but I’d rather have Newt and enjoy the debates.

And that means the suspension of the Constitution. A Marxist/socialist government and situations reminisent of Germany 1939.

Otherwise known as "Tuesday"....

Republicans cannot credibly run on repealing Obamacare with Romney as the nominee.

Romney Gives Mass. Health Reform an 'A' (in July, 2009)

"The portrait depicts the governor seated at the front edge of his desk wearing his trademark business suit. Beside him is a small framed photo of his wife, Ann, and ... [wait for it] ... a copy of the health care reform law he called his greatest achievement.

So, Santorum, Perry, and Gingrich, get together after NH...or no later than after SC and make the hard decisions for the sake of the country. Which ever of you three has garnered the most vote and delegates at that point should be endorsed by the other two who then drop out and throw their support behind that person.

I concur, I have been thinking the same thing. Let us say it is Santorum and he picks Newt for VP ASAP and the others ( Including Bachmann and Cain) throw their weight onto it, it is a momentum stopper for Romney.

But I hate to say it, I don't trust Michelle, I can see her angling for a Cabinet post. Sorry I call them as I see them.

Dole=McLame=Romney= RINO=Loser= Obama.

I stand with both hands held high, middle fingers extended and salute the Republican Party. Nice going and way to sell us out. Now go “F” yourselves. Just vote every liberal or incumbent out. Sabotage the RINOs and don’t let them make a career out of PRETENDING to be conservatives.

I’m done with the Republican party and will switch to independent from now on. It’s all one big Republicat or Demoblican party of government parasites now. I say let the detroitification of the USA begin so the natives will start taking out the fat cats. Hahahahahaa priceless.

Santorum is the best choice for President given the slate of candidates we have (Pro-life advocate). Perry is my second choice, even though he’s not polling very well. Newt has plenty of issues that would prevent me from supporting him in the primaries (gorebull warming, poor judgement, trust issues). Depending on the running mate selected, those are the only candidates I could vote for in the general election. Never Romney and no way in hell I would support a crank like Misses Paul. Any others are totally off my radar.

If Romney gets the nomination, I’ll sit this one out. And yes, I’m quite aware that it may give us four more years of Obama*.

The more I have thought about it, the more I agree to sit it out or go 3rd party. There will NEVER EVER be a better time to start voting for WHO YOU WANT for president, and not ACCEPTING the lesser of two evils.

Also, I would welcome OBAMA as the end of the American experiment, meaning FEDERALIST system - and the STATE secession fallout that would follow in it's wake. At least there is a chance to get the civil war over in my lifetime as opposed to me children's lifetime if Romney gets in and puts America back on the slow boil to bankruptcy.

SOONER IS BETTER THAN LATER.

We need to spend a heck of lot more time in finding the best candidate instead of posting trash like this.

The distorted Gallup numbers are way off.

The huge majority of CONSERVATIVES in RED states don’t see Willard that conservative. And folks in BLUE states who self describe themselves as “conservatives” are in actuality only mushy MODERATES lying that they’re not.

Agreed. This stalemate can only be solved the conservative candidates coming together and deciding which one will carry the banner. I have suggested an on-line Conservative Convention, but we are too late for that (next cycle maybe). But if this continues, the conservative vote will be split in every state and Mitt will skate in!!!!

thanks for posting this pic - it's the best one of 'the signing' - and should be an ad 24/7 - I wonder if there's a video clip of it - there must be.

He looks pretty pleased and among his friends - Birds of a feather -

That should be the title with the photo

This particular photo is getting harder to find - some scrubbing going on? SAve it - post it again and again, email it everywhere.

I cannot stand to watch or hear O'Bumbles talk. NO. 2 on that list is fast becoming this puke - Slick Willard.

Your vote could only be decisive if you’re in a “swing” state. If you’re in a state like TX, it won’t matter what you do. If Obama’s sweep is big enough to take red states, it doesn’t matter how we voted (or didn’t).

If Romney gets the nomination I will hold my nose and vote for him (did the same with McLame). Nothing could be worse than 4 more years of Obama.

—Your vote could only be decisive if you’re in a “swing” state.—

You’ve discovered my Achilles heel. I lived in Washington state until last summer. Nobody I voted for ever won. And now that I am in Kentucky, pretty much everyone I want to vote for will win, whether I vote or not.

“unless the conservatives, Santorum, Perry and Newt quickly coalese and boil down to a single conservative, so they can garner all of the conservative vote behind one candidate, we will be faced with Romney winning the nomination.”

These guys are _politicians_, Jeff, with egos to match.

Do you _really_ expect them to do something like that?

I certainly don’t. And, like you, I know what the results are going to be....

I've been in the minority most of my life, so that doesn't bother me. Should Romney win the nomination, I will still go to the polls, but I will vote for the Conservative candidates in the Congressional elections, and not vote for President.

To all those who say that these actions, if commonplace, will elect OBAMA, I say, so what? Romney is no better, and to elect him will send the message that he has some sort of mandate to continue his liberal policies, and that will result in a false sense of security to the Conservative populace that he will somehow be better than OBAMA. But I think he may actually be more dangerous.
