I don’t remember Politico being mentioned in this debate at all.

Though not JimRob's fault, sadly, a forum with multiple members calling a Republican candidate a "bitch" and talking about superficial things like hair, makeup, and clothing will give the RNC elites (as well as the totalitarian left) a poor reflection of the character of FR. We deserve better.

I agree. I don't have cable, and I don't feel like putting up with a shaky internet video feed, so I only followed the debate via this thread.

What I saw was the most juvenile form of cheerleader-ism and vulgar put-downs, and not much coherent analysis.

Hey FReepers who love one candidate or another: putting your cheers in bold, big font, repeated, or with multiple exclamation marks says nothing. On the other hand, comparing what a candidate says or claims to have done with the real record is very useful - especially when done with a link to the documentation.

Just some "friendly feedback" after 13 years on this forum....

Bachman should save money and quit. Just a boring broad. Good one though.

Very proud of her.

Perry does not need debate help. He is getting on his game. Check out some of this stuff. Go down the page and see him on stage during one of Hannitys gigs. You will see a Rick Perry you may have not seen but Texas has.

I think whoever the nominee is, it will go GOP this time regardless of the VP. Obummers numbers are real bad here for an incumbent Rat.

I got home late and missed the first 15-20 minutes. Can anyone explain to me what Perry said about Tim Tebow?

"I hope I am the Tim Tebow of the Iowa caucuses," Perry said at the Republican presidential debate in Sioux City, the last before the first voters make their choices Jan. 3.

"There are a lot of folks that said Tim Tebow wasn't going to be a very good NFL quarterback," Perry said. "And, you know, he won two national championships. And that looked pretty good."

Perry needs to be talking about that amazing, underdog, AFC South Champion team on the Gulf Coast of his own state.

Just sayin'.

Not that I'm biased or anything. ;-)

Didn't follow the thread tonight. Was on Twitter. Good debate. Newt was excellent, Perry is doing better, Paul showed the world he is flat out crazy and dangerous, Santorum was good, Mitt played it safe, Michele was a witch, Huntsman, yawn.

Other than that, did anyone notice the witch Megyn Kelly has become. She really thinks she is all that. LIBERAL LAME MEDIA HACK.

Stop talking crap I am tired of the likes of you and others saying Bachmann is in the tank with Romney.Bachmann tore into Romney in past debates. She has gone after all of them.

You have some nerve saying if Mitt gets the nod the idiots that supported Bachmann own it when Palin said she would be Romney’s VP. And that is perfectly okay.IF ANYTHING...If Romney gets the nomination it is the I will write in someones name that is not even running jealous of everyone else;calling good conservatives like Bachmann names like trolls do- that OWN it.

Perry just lacks the right stuff to be a Presidential statesman. That takes a man like Newt.

Perry would make a good cabinet member or Secretary of State, Defense, or the Interior. He would do either position justice. He is well suited for a roll like that. Just not President.

Yep. It was fine to question that and get it out there, but she kept harping and harping on it even after he'd answered the questions about four times. Then she harped some more for two days after the debate was over.

You know what it feels like to me? It feels like somebody gives Bachmann a point to attack somebody over - Perry, Cain, now Newt, and she relentlessly attacks on that single point every chance she gets and runs it into the ground, and then somebody gives her a new talking point, and she moves on to that.

She comes across as extremely programmed. Other candidates, when they see something not work, they ease up and change the direction of their attack or the message. She doesn't. It's like she's given specific instructions and cannot deviate from those instructions, even when she's looking foolish.

Probably rigged by giving the option of path to citizenship or deportation, purposely leaving out the option of attrition/enforcement. I didn’t hear if she said it was of likely voters.
