Spain rejects socialism – only three per cent of EU citizens now have Left-wing governments

It's not often that you get the same headline in ABC and El País , but a result on such a scale allowed no room for interpretation: the two old rivals agreed that Spain had entrusted her future wholly to the conservatives.

Happily, no one can now question the PP's mandate. Throughout the campaign, Rajoy promised to cut the debt and get people back to work by reforming Spain's sclerotic labour laws.

What Europe considers ‘right wing’ governments is something we’d consider Dennis Kucinich leading.

It would probably be considered racist (it’s not), but I have thought perhaps the US should advertise for European Immigrants in this fashion:

Are you educated? Do you have a valuable skill in business, finance, medicine, or skilled labor?

Do you feel that your country has spent way too long insisting on socialist policies and overspending?

Are you willing to take a risk, knowing that, if you fail, nobody will bail you out?

Do you see that America is in danger of that same fate, but is still far better than Europe?

Do you know English, or, are you willing to learn it?

Do you feel (even if afraid to admit it) that the United States of America is the nation most responsible for the things you do every day of your life?

Do you like American culture?

If you agree, then come on over to the US, become a citizen, and VOTE to help us turn the US into a fiscally responsible, conservative or libertarian nation that is once again the envy of the world.

In fact, I’d extend that invitation to every country in the world.

Imagine being on your deathbed, which Jacques Chirac soon will and realizing your entire life was built on a lie.

Its a Start but the Socialists will not give up with out a fight. Expect any cuts to be met with violent demonstrations and maybe bombings. In time all Europe will go conservative and nationalistic. EC to be replaced with old style power politics and alliances. History repeated. If it fails—expect confusion and fascists Leaders to rise up and “Fix” things. This time it will be Arabs going to the camps.

I always found it ironic and somewhat comical that the socialist that Spain elected after 9/11 was named Zapatero. “zapatero’’ means ‘’shoemaker’’ in Spanish. At a time when Spain need a leader they elected a shoemaker.

Newsflash. All EU countries have left wing governments even if they call themselves “conservatives”.

Only three per cent of EU nationals now live under Left-led governments (those in Austria, Denmark, Cyprus and Slovenia.

FWIW, non-EU Norway is very much run by a left-led government. Of course, the rules of economic reality don't apply much in that petro state.
