Newt is already finished. Haven’t you figured that out?

For instance, when they quote Newt, “I cheated on my wife because I love America” he is done. Newt has a lot of skeletons. So we are going to be forced with the Liberal Socialist Mitt Romney.

They had NOTHING on Cain other than smear. He is the only Conservative with a chance to win the White House. Both Newt and Mitt will never make it.

Talk show host John Gibson supports Mitt Romney.

The divorce problem with Newt is not a problem with the independents. Those who have a problem are those who would vote for Newt anyway. The real problem is will the voters elect a president who has kept the unemployed from falling into disaster or one who promises jobs to keep America from falling into disaster.

Apparently the only skeleton Santorum has is his having been bullied around by GWB and Specter in 2004, but that seems to have been politically fatal for him. Even people in PA won’t back him.

So we have the choice between a used care salesman, and a guy who left two of his wives on their sick bed.

Great job GOP.

The Establishment has blown it for America for years and years. It now has us where it wants us. Who knows what will happen now if the people do nothing but weep?

He is not my choice, but he is 10,000 times better than the commie.

10,000 times!!?? Maybe 1,000 times and that's being generous. The fact is that IF (a very BIG IF, IMO) Romney gets the nomination, we won't know what we got until its too late!! He does more flip-flopping than a fish on dry land!!

The concern that I have about him is that he could be the Republican Obama! Once we get into the actual primaries, I think we will see a lot more movement in the poll numbers and Romney won't be leading them.

You really think Romney has a stable of commies to be Czars? Obama does. Romney may flip flop some, but not to the dark side. My classmate from High School was able to get 1/2 Billion of our grandkids money(Solyndra). You really think that level of graft would take place under Romney? And Fast and Furious? I think the Hate Romney thing is far out of balance. In the meantime we can hope Michelle gets traction. I love Newt, but the baggage is excessive.

Somebody said it earlier, but it bears repeating. It's like baby pigeons, one never sees them, but they supposedly exist. Where is Mitt Romney's base? Utah? The Mormon tabernacle? Those giant temples where you can't go in unless you have tithed 100 LARGE?

Where are the conservatives with Romney?

Wherever he gets the votes to get the nomination, he is far better than the evil we have now. As far as I can tell, he has no supporters here. Certainly arguing that conservatives love him(Romney) is a fool’s errand, they(the conservatives) are ready to embrace Newt who is a fair weather friend of conservatives(a big tent proponent). If Romney can get the nomination, I am crawling over ground glass to vote for him, because failing to do that continues this major downward spiral under this America hating dimwit. I will do the same for anyone on the debate stage that manages the nomination.

What I really think is that Romney is the media's choice because he is beatable. I think Romney is a closet liberal (like Bush) who has as many positions on each issue as M&M's has colors.

The central issue for Romney remains RomneyCare which, we know, was the model for ObamaCare. Do you REALLY think he will try to roll back ObamaCare on day 1? I don't. Romney can try to distance himself from it as much as he likes but, the fact remains, ObamaCare/RomneyCare - they're the same thing. He thought it was good once and I don't believe him when he says it doesn't work on a national level.

BTW, he passed RomneyCare to cover only 6% of the Massachusetts population. That doesn't sound much like a conservative to me. At best, he is a dreaded "moderate". No thanks.

I know that you all hate him. That is not news. But, where is our conservative pick. Newt has a mixed record, I am fine with that but he has a lot of baggage. I just don’t see anyone emerging. If we cannot get someone on stage that can actually beat odummer, we are of all men the most sad. Michelle is my choice but flagging in the polls. Is Perry it? Four more years of this creep and we are toast.

Where did you get that?? Please send me a copy of any post I made where I said that I hated Romney or don't like Romney or anything like that. I'll wait.

(crickets)

Couldn't find it, could you? That's because I never wrote anything like that. What I have said is that he is NOT a conservative, and he is the DBM's choice for us; he's NOT our choice. NO ONE knows anyone who supports him other than you and the DBM and, quite frankly, I suspect that you are a troll.

There are better candidates running on the GOP ticket with substantially better conservative credentials than Mitt Romney. But, here's the deal - you like him, you vote for him. The rest of us will vote for a candidate with better conservative credentials than Romney - one who can defeat Obama. Romney is beatable and if you DON'T want 4 more years of the Obamadisaster, I STRONGLY encourage you to look at one of the other candidates running.

What are you smoking? Romney is not my candidate but I have yet to see a conservative emerge. You really think Romney is popular here? It was a general statement. Do get bent out shape, look for all the praise of Romney quotes if you can find any and I will admit his popularity and take back my general statement. My candidate (Michelle) is sinking in the polls, then I tried Herman and he is sinking, so give me a conservative out those left over. Newt talks the talk but 6 years of adultery will be a tough swallow.

All you have to do is even pretend Romney is tenable and you get a barrage of “No Thanks” quotes. Yep he is sure loved here.

My suggestion is that you go back and review your posts on this thread from an objective perspectve. Everything you have written (to me, at least) has come across as being VERY pro-Romney and if we don’t support him we’ll get 4 more years of Obamadisaster.

Once you finish reviewing your posts and realizing how you have come across to others here, you might might to check what YOU have been smoking.

I think we’re done. You don’t have a clear idea what you want or what you support.

Reviewing my posts is not the point..Look at the barrage of anti-Romney posts. I will go down the line with Michelle, Herman, Newt, Perry and if that fails and we get Romney, only then do you and I have to make a decision. The “No Thanks” does not work once you have two candidates. That is reality. At that point, if it is Romney, what do you do? Here is what the tone here at FR suggests, you stay home or vote 3rd party. I would suggest if all else fails you vote for Romney over Obama. If you stay home or go 3rd Obama get 1/2 your vote. Simple math.......there are only two viable parties. I respect your dislike for Romney and the flips don’t garner much respect here. But, the equation still stands.

You're really cute when you're naive!! A lot of people here did just that in '08 (even though they won't admit it) and now they realize that staying home and NOT voting is a bad idea! (IOW, BTDT!

What you're seeing right now is a lot of jockeying for position while we have the luxury to be selective. We all know what is at stake and, next year, whoever the nominee is - like him/her or hate him/her - we will ALL get behind and support. It's a long time until next November. A LOT can/will happen between now and then and the person who looks good right now may not look so good when the primaries roll around. Until push comes to shove, this is all an academic discussion.
