STATE COLLEGE, Pa (Reuters) - The lawyer for the Penn State football coach charged with child sex abuse said in an interview on Monday the boy at the center of a 2002 incident detailed in the grand jury's report had been identified and said it never happened.

Jerry Sandusky, the former defensive coordinator for the Penn State Nittany Lions, was arrested more than a week ago on charges he sexually abused eight young boys over a 15-year period.

Speaking to sportscaster Bob Costas, Joe Amendola, who represents Sandusky, said "we anticipate we're going to have at least several of those kids come forward and say, 'This never happened.'"

Sandusky, in a telephone interview with Costas that aired at the same time, acknowledged he had horsed around and showered with children involved in the Second Mile charity he founded.

But he denied he was a pedophile.

Something strange is going on there...

Nothing about this caper makes any sense, this victim being the most confusing.

According to the indictment, the witness sees a pretty awful crime in progress, but does nothing. He decidess to call his father (WTF???? The witness was a grown man, 28 at the time), and then both the witness and his dad....call the cops? Call child protective service? No, they have a meeting with Paterno. Who then, does what? Calls his boss and says, well we don't know what he says.

I can actually see Paterno's side of this: if the witness was so sure of what he saw (a felony in progress), why didn't he call 911, even anonymously, from a pay phone, say)????? You wait a whole day to "report" this crime to....the football coach? That makes no freaking sense at all.

Sandusky waas clearly a pervert, and it seems that a bunch of people knew that and at least covered for him, but you have to ask "why"? What was in it for everyone else that they would cover this up, look the other way, and just generally allow this serial molester to just keep adding to the list of victims?

I don't get it.

Remember the story about the big money Penn State donors he was pimping out boys to?

How embarrassing you are. The "rumor" was he was pimping out boy to rich donors. In fact the quote from the radio show was

“I hear there’s a rumor that there will be a more shocking development from the Second Mile Foundation — and hold on to your stomachs, boys, this is gross, I will use the only language I can — that Jerry Sandusky and Second Mile were pimping out young boys to rich donors. That was being investigated by two prominent columnists even as I speak.”

The most reasonable reading of that would be rich donors are to the Second Mile Foundation not PSU since PSU is NOWHERE mentioned in that quote. How pathetic you rumor mongers are. I have barely paid attention to this witch hunt. I live in Alabama. I am a UF graduate. But I can read and comprehend. Did you just read a headline someplace?

So why was the architect of “Linebacker U”, arguably the best defensive coordinator in the HISTORY of college football, unable to find a job after he stepped down at the age of 55? He didn’t even get a single call.

The "story" is a rumor started by a total jag-off who has never been right about anything in his life. A radio station gave him credit for "breaking" a story that everyone who reads PennLive.com already knew about.

Conservatives are supposed to be rational people. Why are all you FReepers accepting accusations, rumor, and innuendo as Gospel?

You have the nerve to lecture about judging people?

You just took as gospel what the sleazy Sandusky lawyer issued for fact but absolutely cannot prove at this stage. And you’re lecturing freepers?

Only McQueary has testified to a sexual assault. No one else connected to the case supports the claim that McQueary came to them as eyewitness to a rape.

What possible motivation would McQueary have to lie to Paterno, who described him as distraught, about seeing Sandusky anally raping a little boy in the shower, in the empty locker room, in the closed football bldg, on the Friday night when the campus had just cleared out for the beginning of Spring Break?

Nothing strange is going on here accept for the conspiracy theorists. Sandusky would have known the identity of the child regardless of what actually did or did not happen, because Curley and Schultz told him to stop bringing Second Mile program kids onto campus after the incident.

I understand the reports indicate the Grand Jury presentation only included some 8 victims of at least 40 reported victims.

This possibly represents a minority of actual victims as most are likely not wanting to be reminded of any of it.

Ignoring his past behavior doesn’t even begin to touch upon a litany of other interests which have been encroached by those actions. Discussing the vile nature of criminality and its deserved justice is not unrighteous.

The total jagoff who's never been right about anything in his life is Mark Madden. Here's something he's never been right about in his life from April of this year:

Madden: Sandusky a State Secret

Exactly and as I said, that sheep can be stampeded like this is why we end up with more and more and more and more government. We will likely end up with a new federal law because something must be done. Rather than just try the guy if their is evidence and let a jury decided if there is evidence beyond a reasonable doubt, ie enough for us to take away his liberty.
