WASHINGTON — Rep. Jeff Landry knew not to yell at President Barack Obama during his jobs address Thursday night to Congress. That move made Rep. Joe Wilson famous a couple of years ago, and not necessarily for the better. Instead, Republican leaders urged their members to show up, keep an open mind and be polite _ voters were anxious and Congress' bickering had angered large majorities of them.
So Landry, R-La., instead printed out a small white sign to raise when Obama mentioned how, exactly, he planned to put more Americans to work.
"Drilling(equals)jobs," it read in big black letters. Seated two rows behind the well-mannered Wilson, R-S.C., Landry held it up when Obama acknowledged that Republicans might have ideas different from his $447 billion jobs package.
It was only a modest departure from decorum, but a sure signal that more than policy disagreements remain between Obama and congressional Republicans whose standoff over raising the debt ceiling last month brought the country to the brink of default. The markets and recession-weary Americans didn't appreciate the suspense. The nation's credit rating suffered for the bickering, and Congress' favorable ratings dropped to around 12 percent.

I would say that your statement is 99.9% correct about Democrats and 65% correct about Republicans.
Democrats vote the way they are told to vote and many Republicans should belong to the Democrat party, they vote with them often enough.

That’s a pretty pathetic commentary on the bias of the media that a Congressman must stoop to holding up a sign at a speech by the President in order to get his message out.

Yep - this PC "decorum" only serves to keep people from telling the truth. The more the truth gets out there, the better off we all are (unless you're a Dim or a RINO...).
Underpinning the American economy is access to reliable, cheap, abundant energy in all forms. It is needed to grow food, manufacture products, get people to work, heat and cool homes, run the internet, and move goods. Obama did not mention energy once in his speech, you could look it up.
A rational energy policy would include:
1) An aggressive drilling program including the Gulf of Mexico and ANWAR.
2) Developement of shale resources.
3) Approval of the Keystone pipeline.
I believe all of these things are within the authority of the president. Implementing a program like this would create jobs immediately and help eliminate uncertainty in the energy sector. Obama would have none of it.
The fact that Obama did not even give lip service to energy indicates that he has no idea what actually makes an economy run. Either that or he doesn’t care. There will be no economic expansion until he is gone.

Not just the economic situation but also owing to the fact that there is a mild glut of oil. Consumption is way down. Inflation is largely responsible for the much higher costs of a barrel.
But of course, the liars who feed us the info don’t use the cost of fuel and food when they calculate the rate of inflation. Must keep the sheeple tame, you know.

As I noted in an article last year with retired chief judge Paul Michel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, which handles patent appeals, simply clearing the patent backlog could create up to 2.25 million jobs by 2014. And it wouldn't cost the taxpayer a dime, since the patent office is the only self-supporting agency of the federal government.

IMHO..the biggest problem is that a rational energy policy for the USA is somehow beholden to the Office of the President.
Not much REAL economic expansion has occurred in the last 30years...and not much will until those powers assumed by the Office of the President are returned to We the People.
That is pretty simplistic don’t you think.
Even if you only want to blame congress you can’t just blame this congress or the last congress. It took 60 years or more to get us here.
And you can’t just blame our congress people you have to blame the people who elect and reelect them year after year.
And since we are spreading blame with our manure spreader lets blame those of us who know better for not pointing out the idiocy that the Left spouts when we hear our friends, neighbors, and family repeat the foolishness. If we don’t educate our fellow voters we are also to blame for our poor government.
We the people get the government we deserve. There are two important elections coming up, I hope each and every Freeper that is able will be out there fighting for the Republic on the front lines.
