Obama and the Dems are taking a political beating on Solyndra.Sounds like Holder is trying to change the reality that the Dems were corrupt and stupid in making this loan guarantee to the perception that they were misled by criminal executives.Holder has displayed in the past at DOJ that his stong suit in his limited skill set is he knows how to abuse his power to promote a political agenda.

Ken Lay's trump card was the Clinton administration. All sorts of crooked book keeping went on during their watch (Enron, Globalspan, Worldcom, and other miscellaneous dot-com frauds). When GWB was elected he bounced a request from Enron for loan guarantees (or some such Government bail-out), and even though Richard Rubin (former Clintonista Secretary of Treasury) petitioned on Enron's behalf -- the Bush administration let Enron fall on their own merits. Ken Lay may have been a personal friend of President Bush -- but he didn't abuse his authority by using the Executive Branch to provide Enron favors (unlike Dem Presidents -- past and present).
i agree. that’s what i got from the documentary as well, but it was odd that they made it seem like the Bush family, because they had a friendship with Lay, were in on it, but then they go back in the history of Enron and clearly show 98% of the abuses and fraud happening during the Clinton presidency with nary a photo or mention of him. there was even a freeze frame of GWB with an awkward look on his face making him look less than Presidential. It was a hit piece, but, they could not hide the timeline as they had to show the same timeline to give the viewer a chronological view.
I guess I have to partially retract my accusation regarding this documentary. Sounds like they actually laid out the facts - and even though they tried to hide it with distracting 'chaff' ('say - lookee here, a shiny coin. And did you know Ken Lay was a buddy of George Bush?') - the alert viewer was able to pick out what was really going on (i.e., the Clinton administration's aiding and abetting of the fraud called Enron).
