Limbaugh: Attack on Perry Same Thing Media Tried with Reagan
Real Clear Politics ^ | August 29, 2011 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 08/29/2011 11:54:18 AM PDT by DRey

This morning Politico ran a story titled "Is Rick Perry dumb" by columnist Jonathan Martin. In the second paragraph, after ridiculing his accent in the opening paragraph, the writer asks: "Is he dumb -- or just "misunderestimated?" Martin goes on to question Perry's "intellect." Rush Limbaugh responds on his Monday program: "This is a recycle, same thing they tried against Ronaldus Maximus back in 1979/1980. 'Is Ronald Reagan dumb?' "It's amazing. Nothing new. Media cycles, media templates being repeated, being recycled."

Governor Perry may not be President Reagan in the same way, but he will bring about game changing solutions to the economy in the same way.

It also shows the abject stupidity of our American media. If they can’t get Zer0 right with all the red flags and flashing lights, they deserve to run into the ditch and crash and burn. If they are willing to suck up the myths and misinformation about the One, they also deserve to crash and burn with an upset stomach.

Don’t even try asking these clowns who they want for president. I have been asking them for a year, and they always say, “It’s too early to tell.” That line must be in the script too. They make me sick! It’s best to tell them to run back to the DU hell they have come from.

Congratulations, dumbest post of the day. Do you also believe in voting on bills before you read and study them?

I and my wife voted for Perry for governor. I defended Perry on a thread here yesterday when the poster said he tried to beat a traffic ticket (not even on my list of issues). Either accepting or rejecting a candidate based on ignorance is foolish.

I am exchanging e-mails and phone calls with my congressman to try to do something about Obama's amnesty by fiat. I will do my best to vote for someone who will not be a clone of GWB.

Good night! my post really sent you off the rails. I was not even talking about the DemonRATs 1000+ page bills. I was talking about mindless parrots who through out their anti-Palin and anti-Perry screeds without knowing what they are writing about. When you ask them who they favor for the Republican presidental ticket, all you get from them is the crickets in the background or “It’s too soon to tell who I would voter for.”

I certainly would not give you the job of reading and interpreting a bill before the vote. If you did not understand my post, I would not try for a job as a congressional staff worker.

I was not even talking about the DemonRATs 1000+ page bills.

And you don't realize that choosing a candidate without gathering the facts has something in common with voting on bills without knowing what is in them. Let the facts determine who your candidate is. Have you forgotten that GW Bush unpleasantly surprised a lot of his supporters after he was elected?

I was talking about mindless parrots who through out their anti-Palin and anti-Perry screeds without knowing what they are writing about.

If that is what you had posted, I wouldn't have any problem with it, but that is not what you posted. In fact I agree that some attacks on Perry are incorrect or trivial.

When you ask them who they favor for the Republican presidental ticket, all you get from them is the crickets in the background or “It’s too soon to tell who I would voter for.”

I will pick a candidate when I am ready, not before. Do you have a problem with that?

If you did not understand my post, I would not try for a job as a congressional staff worker.

Read the post I originally replied to. There seems to be a difference between what you posted and what you were thinking. If reading minds is required for such a job, that's another problem.

Ignorance will buy what? That has to be the stupidest thing I have read all day..and I read the New York Times this morning too. Thats it? You hate Perry and so you gotta crap on any thread that mentions his name, in hopes that someone will follow your veiled advice? This isn’t DU, stupid does’nt make it too far here. Maybe try a different pond some where?

My original post was responding to a comment made by Shaka who was responding to org.whodat. Org.whodat said that Perry “was all hat and no cattle.” Shaka responded with “Man, you’re on every Perry thread started and just keep being negative.” Shaka then asked “Who would you vote for President?” That question struck a nerve with me and that prompted my post:

“Don’t even try asking these clowns who they want for president. I have been asking them for a year, and they always say, “It’s too early to tell.” That line must be in the script too. They make me sick! It’s best to tell them to run back to the DU hell they have come from.”

With your phony excuse that “I will pick a candidate when I am ready, not before,” is nothing but dodging the question. You do not want your bias to be identified. And it follows a pattern that I have been seeing for over a year. I do not accept your lame excuse!

Org.whodat responded with a reference to the tuition situation with children of illegals in Texas. It was obnoxious and typical of the mindless script being thrown out like puke on here. And, of course, there was no answer to who he preferred for the Republican nominee. The script is followed just like you. Other Freepers responded to him with comments about “crickets” and questions about who he supports.

As for the idea that Governor Rick Perry is all hat and no cattle, that is an example of mindless parrots who throw out their anti-Palin and anti-Perry screeds without knowing what they are writing about. Perry has worn the rancher’s hat, growing up on a working Texas ranch with cattle and cotton. I won’t bore you people with the details because once you get the facts, like org.whodat, you run over them like a Mac truck and go off to forget them like you never read one sentence.

I gave this detailed account to show you that you have certainly failed to follow what was going on with this thread because of clowns like org.whodat.

My original post was responding to a comment made by Shaka who was responding to org.whodat. Org.whodat said that Perry “was all hat and no cattle.” Shaka responded with “Man, you’re on every Perry thread started and just keep being negative.”

OK, tell him you resent his alleged spamming. That would be quite understandable.

Shaka then asked “Who would you vote for President?”

Ok, I went back and looked. What he really posted was, "Did he bang your ex-wife or somethin’? Man,you got a hard on for him. Who would you vote for President?"

So that profound post inspired you to repeat the same lame approach: "Don’t even try asking these clowns who they want for president. I have been asking them for a year, and they always say, 'It’s too early to tell.'"

Let's see if I understand you: In your universe, those who don't favor a candidate yet are sinister agents of some mysterious deception; they could not want simply to study the candidates before deciding? Hell, Perry just entered the race. I may vote for Perry eventually, but demanding others to pick a candidate is just mindless, and does not reflect well on your candidate, although some Palin supporters are at least as abrasive as you guys.

With your phony excuse that “I will pick a candidate when I am ready, not before,” is nothing but dodging the question. You do not want your bias to be identified. And it follows a pattern that I have been seeing for over a year. I do not accept your lame excuse!

That's an amazing rant that makes no sense except to the delusional. I don't need an excuse for not deciding until I know the facts, skippy.
