Karl Rove responds to controversy over his speculation if Fmr. Gov. Sarah Palin will indeed enter the GOP field. Rove said chances are she will jump in, but was not definitive in his observation.
"I'm mystified," Rove said about reaction to his speculation. "Look, she is all upset about this saying how I am trying to sabatouge her in some way. How do I speculate on her future."
"Look, if she doesn't want to be speculated about a potential presidential candidate there is an easy way to end the speculation. Simply say 'I'm not running.' Instead, every time she pops up in the public eye like she did on CNN, at the Iowa State fair a short number of days ago. she said 'I haven't made a decision.'"
"I'm just speculating that more likely than not she is going to be a candidate."
"Now I said 'I wouldn't bet a lot of money on it' because it is such a close thing and I am not privy to her thought-making process. But it is sign of enormous thin-skin that if we speculate about her, she gets upset. And I suspect if we didn't speculate about her, she would be upset and getting ways to get us to speculate about her."

All you have to do is listen to Rove pretend he doesn’t know of any trouble between Goerge W. Bush and Rick Perry, and he doesn’t know where that idea came from, then he makes a snide dig at Perry.
Rove is a slippery snake it was nice when he was our snake, now he’s out there basically can’t forget the good old days and causing trouble because he thinks he matters.
You are correct, but that is not what this thread is about.
Carl is just too smart for the rest of dumb hicks who can’t see through his little missives. Yeah right. He is as transparent as the Big Zero. It won’t be long before he and what he thinks will be as memorable and relevant as a bygone pimple on my rump.

-a father and son stalker team from another state threatened to kill her.(recently arrested)
-A book publisher moved in next door to spy on her family
-person email hacked.
She is very strong, which Rove feel he needs to attack, because it is one of her many assets.
Naw, the proper response is to either return fire in a like sarcastic manner or to just let it ride. There are times on FR where you really need to have dragonscales vs. skin.
No point in taking too much, if any offense. Some FReepers are just naturally snarky and others...well, I think you get the idea.

I heard him the first time he said it and figured he was probably right. He didn’t insult her or anything. Someone asked him about her and whether she enters. He was just saying it looked that way.
If he would have said she isn’t running they would have started a kerfuffel also.
I don’t understand what the original problem was.
It may well be that she intended to run, but is now reevaluating that decision once Perry jumped in the race. Just IMHO.
I believe an attack on an innocent child and accusations that that child was born out of incest are far worse than an attack on one’s intellect, veracity or policies, yes.
Death threats and threats of rape, IIRC.
Sarah Palin’s skin is plenty thick. She’s proven that. What Palin has is a healthy distrust of political operatives and establishment elites who have no soul.

I wish she’d vetoed the abomination of a bill that caused her all that trouble.
Rove has always been overrated in my opinion. Bush II lost the popular vote and barely squeaked by a few hundred votes in FL to win in 2000. In 2004 he barely won against one of the worst democratic candidates ever, John Kerry. In 2006, the GOP was massacred in the Senate and House. In 2008, the most liberal democrat President ever was elected along with a huge democrat majority in Congress.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the entire reason folks are speculating about Sarah’s possible run for the White House entirely based on her own comments?
She can announce or not whenever she chooses, don’t really care one way or the other, but she is the one fueling the speculation with her ‘fire in the belly’, ‘I’ll announce sometime in the Aug Sept timeline’, and the like.
I don’t think she is being disingenuous, she is doing what she thinks will best position herself for whatever comes next.
Does anyone really think she doesn’t want America talking about her and her intentions?
As others have said already, she didn’t resign because she “couldn’t take it”, she resigned for the good of the state.
In a sterile sense, I think Gov Palin is, bar none, the best we could hope for to run for president. Unfortunately, with all due respect to your wife, it’s the catty nitpicking that, quite bluntly, mainly only women are hurling against the Governor that are her biggest weakness.
I saw someone here on FR a few days ago nitpickin about her toenails for goodness sakes, and saying her choice of toenail polish “clearly made her potential to be president questionable”. (paraphrased)
That, and when I heard some woman call into Rush’s show and say she “agreed with Sara Palin’s politics, but she behaved too much like a woman” to vote for her, has made me pretty much give up WRT Palin’s chances.
What is it with all the cattiness? It’s crazy, but it’s there. It’s sad but she is mired in it, even more than Bachmann. She has no chance, and you can thank her fellow women for that, ironically. I thought they’d be her strongest base.
