The Best Way to Ensure Victory in 2012 (Vanity)
8/19/2011

Posted on 08/19/2011 8:58:32 AM PDT by privatedrive

We can agree that this election is the most important of our lifetimes, and therefore let's also agree that we may need to do things differently than we have in the past.Surely we can learn from our mistakes last time around. Nothing is more important to our future than replacing the worst President in the history of our country.

The best way to be sure that Obama is a one term president is to run “our team versus their team”, rather than “our guy versus their guy”. This way, we take ‘race’ out of the equation, and possibly blunt some of the personal attacks that will be waged on our candidate. If we put a ‘Dream Team” together, the contrasts will be stark.

We need to rally around our candidate early. The last thing we need is for our good people to beat each other up over the next twelve months, and give ammunition to our opponents. So let’s face it – our candidate is going to be Rick Perry. Like anyone, he has his flaws. But there is no scenario in which anyone else can win the Republican nomination. And his running mate should be Marco Rubio for a variety of reasons, not least of which is the Hispanic vote.

Now let’s take things a step further, and rally behind a simple, succinct platform. A Platform that Establishment Republicans and Tea Partiers can embrace: Less government, balanced budgets, strong military, pro-jobs business environment, commitment to the constitution, and term limits.

And if we put our Dream Team together, there is no other possible outcome than a landslide victory. We MUST win, and perhaps the most compelling reason is to ensure future Supreme Court Justices believe in our Constitution. By assembling our Team, we also give ourselves the best chances of winning the Senate, and truly being able to take back our country, our prosperity, and our pride.

So here is my take on the Dream Team. Your thoughts and opinions are welcome. The players and positions can be changed, but the important thing is to put together a Winning Team as quickly as possible. Failure is not an option.

Pres: Rick Perry

VP: Marco Rubio

Sec of State: John Bolton

Defense: David Patraeus

Treasury: Paul Ryan

Chief of Staff: Newt Gingrich

Commerce: Mitt Romney

Energy: Sarah Palin

Attorney General: Rudy Guliani

Press Secretary: Fred Thompson

(Congress: Senate Majority leader Jim DeMint and Speaker of the House Michele Bachmann)

And remembering that we need to slash a trillion dollars per year from Federal spending, we should agree to eliminate the following departments and cabinet positions: Education, EPA, HUD, Interior, Agriculture, HHS, Homeland Security, Labor, and Commerce. Yes, we will face fierce challenges, but it is a fight we should embrace. Bring it!

Let’s rally around a Team and a Platform to ensure that our children and grandchildren inherit the greatest country in the history of the world.

I don’t think establishment Republicans would ever embrace that. It takes the fun out of the job.

As I was just saying.....where have we heard this before ??? And Perry joined the race less than a week ago and now he is the only one who can win...I guess the primary is over LOL

The weak link in your proposal is Illegal Immigration, which also means the weak link is the top of the ticket.

Perry has no credibility where Illegal Immigration is concerned.

The other thing we need is for every GOP candidate to talk about "a serious policy of US Energy Independence" in every single speech, public appearance or media interview.

High energy prices are the fundamental drag on the US economy.

High Energy prices have an radically negative effect on the economy. High energy prices destroy US Consumer Confidence and they eat up US Consumer’s discretionary spending dollars.

US Consumer spending is the engine that drives the World Economy. Without it any economic recovery will be anemic at best.

US Consumer have seen, in just the last year 40% inflation in the cost of energy. High energy prices effect not only the price of gasoline, but also the price of every good and service the consumer buys. It also drives up the price of the energy the consumer buys to power their homes. It drives up the costs for producers to produce the goods US Consumers buy.

Until the cost of energy is addressed the US, and the world, economic recovery is going to be stagnant at best.

A key “how-to” is to clearly articulate to those who depend on government (for jobs, Social Security, Medicare) that the continuation of their benefits and jobs is threatened by doing nothing, and reform is needed to preserve their way of life. That doing nothing or borrowing/taxing to pay them will kill the golden goose.

I like that lineup. But everyone knows that a president needs people he or she can trust. As is always the case, there will be disagreements among strong willed and intelligent people. Even though on paper they look good, they often cannot operate as a team. Leaks to the Leftist media can really destroy a conservative administration. Works the same way in business and sports.

BS. Look up the word vetting. The last thing we need is to not properly vet our candidate and lose because we didn't.

Vetting: to appraise, verify, or check for accuracy, authenticity, validity, etc.

As the nation’s longest serving governor with an excellent track record of accomplishments, I would say Rick Perry has been vetted.

I would say OBummer has not.

Unfortunately, the GOP missed a great opportunity to insure victory next year. A group tried to get an initiative on the CA ballot in early 2012 (”1477. (10-0024)
Presidential Electors. Political Party Nomination and Election by Congressional District. Initiative Statute.”). Given that CA would go 60-40 for the Democrat candidate, the Democrat would get 33 Electoral College votes BUT the GOP candidate would get 22 votes. If I remember my math, that’s almost as much as the entire state of Florida or Ohio. It would also have a powerful increase in turnout of Republicans and conservatives.

Finally, it would have a great impact on Obama’s spending plans. He has used California as an ATM, taking millions of $’s from CA libs and spending it in other states. Now he would have to spend the money here.

RE :”Say hello to president mccain when you see him. LOL

Yes, McCain is the ONLY one who can win the general election against Hillary or Obama because of those ‘independents’ and Hispanics. And he can just flip a few positions at the last minute to get the gullible conservatives in line behind him, they have a very short memory.

Plus he has all that military experience being a POW and that is what the whole 2008 election will be about, not the economy....

Is that Hannity talking ??? LOL

I was thinking of you when I pinged it last night, I knew if you were raged about the DoHS Tea Party Terrorist alert video this would really set you off. I called a Republican House Leadership office and gave them my comments and suggestions on this, told them they are worthless if they dont raise a stink about it.

Calling Maryland Democrats in congress would be a waste of time.
