Sarah Palin tour comes to abrupt halt
Politico ^ | 08/15/2011 | Molly Ball

After just four days on the road, Sarah Palin’s bus tour is going dormant again.

In a note posted on her Facebook page Monday, Palin says she’s headed “back to Alaska for the start of the school year.”

What’s next for the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential nominee? “While kids crack open their school books, I look forward to continuing my own writing and research on strategies and plans to help move our country forward,” she wrote.

Palin noted that she’ll be back on the road before long – she’s scheduled to keynote a Sept. 3 tea party rally in Waukee, Iowa, near Des Moines.

Her Facebook note didn’t mention it, but she’s also scheduled to headline an Oct. 7 rally with Glenn Beck in St. Charles, Mo., according to a local conservative talk-radio station’s announcement Monday.

The leg of Palin’s “One Nation” bus tour that’s now ending lasted four days, beginning midday Friday, when Palin appeared at the Iowa State Fair—just in time for her to catch the attention of the assembled national political media mob in town for the Ames Straw Poll.

On Saturday, she visited Ronald Reagan’s childhood home in Dixon, Ill., and his nearby alma mater of Eureka College. She was in Eureka when the straw poll results were released, and NBC News asked her what she thought of the results.

“The prediction was that it would either be Ron Paul or Michele Bachmann, because they spent a lot of time and energy to make sure they had delegates there who would cast those votes — so not really a surprise,” Palin told NBC, the only major news outlet following her in Illinois.

She keeps pissing the left-wing media off by doing things her way.

I think it is hilarious to hear the MSM whine.

She is not a candidate. Can't she do whatever she wants?

Perry is trying to be both the "responsible executive with experience" and the "tea party candidate". If he succeeds he takes away votes from Mitt and Michelle ... and Palin if she ultimately enters.

George W. successfully ran as both a fiscal/social conservative and someone with experience. Things turned out quite different than he led on.

Wonder if the same thing will happen with Perry?

Perry is on the same side as Karl Rove. Best to support only Palin and Bachmann.

I don’t think Palin is running. My benchmark for whether that is true or not is if Perry jumped in. I believe that Perry knows Palin is not running. Why? Because I believe that Palin would have made the race hard on Perry and that is something he is not used to. All his Texas re-elections have been like it will be if he goes up directly against Obama. Perry is the lesser of two bad choices.

My son and I were at her rally in October 2008 in Richmond — the lib media said 10 to 20 thousand — Try like 50 thousand. And it was pretty damn hot that day. But there she was with Hank Jr and the 1st Dude. We had a blast my son got some great pics with her and was able to shake her hand.

I love how she drives the left wingers insane...just her name, makes them develop a tick. I love it!

Rove and "W" both thought very little of Rick Perry. I know people that have been in the room with Bush and Rove when they referred to Perry by the nickname Bush gave Perry - THE DUMBASS. Bush and Rove supported Kay Bailey Hutchinson against Perry the last election cycle. So saying that "Perry is on the same side as Rove" makes no sense.

Wow. I'm not sure what to make of Bush considering somebody to be a dumbass.

President Bush had his heart in the right place, but his nomination of Harreit Miers left me with the conclusion that he really wasn't very bright.

Her four day bus trip "comes to an abrupt halt." The Obama is on a three day bus trip. Will it also "come to an abrupt halt?"

True. Give Pery credit, he vocally called himself a tea partier last night (”We’re not angry we’re indignant”). That’s a good thing. I would be happy if he beat Obama!

Actual

Now it’s back to Alaska for the start of the school year. (And, of course, our annual visit to our own state fair where Piper looks forward to clogging on the Blue Bonnet Stage!) While kids crack open their school books, I look forward to continuing my own writing and research on strategies and plans to help move our country forward.

We will be back on the road soon, for on September 3rd we’ve been invited to a big Tea Party “Restoring America” rally in Waukee, Iowa. We hope to see many of you there as we gather to discuss the direction of our country and the way forward with our fundamental restoration of all that is good and strong and free in America. You can click here for more information on the event.

Heck; she's doing that with some people here! She said she would do things differently all along.
Then when she does; people get mad!!
