Casey Anthony Found Not Guilty of 1st-Degree Murder, Acquitted of Manslaughter in Daughter's Death

Morning all, didn't see a thread for today so I created one.

I have NO doubt that Casey killed that precious one. Caylee would be the age of my granddaughter and my heart aches a bit when my own sweet Kaitlyn comes around.

They were here this past Saturday night and we talked about this case for over an hour. Kaitlyn listened and asked a few questions. Her parents, nor I, tried to not to talk about it around Kaitlyn, and she knows it’s about a mother who killed her child. We tried not to get too graphic, though, but we told Kaitlyn that someday she will read about this trial and she should try to remember as much as she can. this is probably one of Kaitlyn’s first permanent childhood memories, an odd thing.

But what I DO have doubt as to whether the very dumb Casey Anthony, who brings new meaning to the word stupid, intentionally tried to kill Caylee.

No wait. I DO think she intentionally tried to kill Caylee...BUT....

....I have a reasonable doubt.

My two cents...worth about a penny.

The way her attorney had his hand on her shoulder, it was as if to brace her for what he seems to think will be a guilty. Which SHE damned well knows she deserves. SHE is the one who knows beyond any shadow of doubt.

As the only person in the United States who has not followed this trial from the beginning, if she is found guilty, will sentence be passed at the same time? Thanks in advance.

Jose Baez just spoke with Casey...probably said something like, "hey kiddo, this is good news, you'll probably be acquitted. However, if they do find you guilty, my incompetence in the courtroom will get you a new trial".

My educated guess is that the verdict will be guilty on all counts. It is a certainty that the majority of the jurors would vote guilty (as 95% of the rest of America) so if there were any jurors favoring acquittal, the rest of the jurors would take days and days to wear them down.

I was on a murder trial myself a few years ago (as a juror) and within a couple of hours of reviewing the evidence, we took a poll and only one of the jurors did not vote guilty the first time around. It took us a couple more days to pound away at the evidence before that last juror finally came around. But no way were we just walking out of there without a fight to set a killer free just because we didn't have unanimous agreement at the get-go. If we had to fight for the guilty verdict for weeks or deadlock, that's what we would have done.

Time for the defendant to modify that tattoo of hers. It is not going to be a beautiful life for her.

Got the answer to my question..Nancy Grace just said that a while back, there were some prliminary plea discussion, but once the body was found..porsecutors took it off the table..so, she in effect screwed herself BIG TIME

This whole case is living proof of the wrong way to live one’s life.

The sickening self-absorbed self-centereredness has been passed through the generations of a family leading to the death of this child.

I’m not here to point fingers at others.
