To be fair, the money is only for those who lost their jobs and meet various criteria.

They also have to stay in their current home for five years to avoid repayment.

That said, this is ridiculous.

That said, this is ridiculous. This isn’t the government’s job.

I pay my mortgage company a very small amount monthly (much less than if I saved the money myself to do this) in order to forgive my mortgage for a year in the case of job loss. I think it’s smart.

I’m sympathetic to the many who are struggling....but I think that is a much better option than the government handing out free money.

>>”What is considered a “struggling” homeowner?”
>Obama voter.

I will bet that the largest percentage of recipients will be Holder’s people.

Will we see gas stamps like food stamps

It's possible, but I doubt it would pass the House. Baraq might try it by POTUS proclamation.

Know what you mean. I just took a chunk of my retirement savings and put it into my business so we can pay the bills. It was a bailout of sorts. This communist government is killing small businesses.

Little bit late in the day, isn’t it? What about the foreclosures since 2009? Those people are out of their houses, and with no credit.

Hey now, don’t insult President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho by comparing him to Obama. President Mountain Dew was a genius compared to the community organizer in chief.

There is nothing I can say about this that won’t get me immediately banned.

I second your statement. I can't put into words what I truly felt upon first reading this.

All that made America great is until vicious attack by this anti-American Marxist and his evil cohorts. Obama has pure hatred for America.

Without a doubt, 2012 will be the most important election in our history. If the Marxist is not defeated, then our Republic is finished.

Ditto - doesn’t Congress need to pass this? POTUS just can’t “deem” it, CAN HE?

BOFA did not tell them to stop paying their mortgages. The HAMP legislation required that 3 months of mortgage payments be missed. People applying for HAMP are advised by government consultants and mortgage lenders that this is the requirement for the program. That does equate into a bank encouraging a mortgagor to not make mortgage payments. What possible benefit would a lender have advising his lendee to stiff him? Where the bank is at fault is their complete incompetence in administering the program for qualified applicants.
