well, then. There we have it. Drugs are the same as fatty foods.I can see your logic. One is a highly addictive and illegal substance and the other if FOOD.
So it would be ok the legalize misery as long as we make money off it?
And the drug cartels would just be a legal big business, instead of being worried about getting bumped off they would be troubled with EPA, FDA,IRS and various other government agencies. Wait..you hit on it, you sly dog. We will regulate them to death. BRAVO......

Why don't the cartels simply move in and run the alcohol trade. That's an easy answer one alcohol users require taste and quality

Which makes my point in post #25, ie that a black market is no match for a well regulated and reasonably taxed market like alcohol. It's why prohibition gangs quit making money from the alcohol trade after 1933.

two stoners could care less what they smoke just as long as they get stoned.

A well regulated and reasonably taxed marijuana market would deprive the cartels of revenues from marijuana for the same reason that relegalized alcohol deprived the prohibition gangs of their revenue. Outlaw alcohol again and the cartels would move into the alcohol trade, agreed?

I ask again. Given your statement on booze and drugs above, do you want to make alcohol illegal, yes or no?

No, no, you misunderstand me.

I like the idea of drug cartels with platoons of AK47-wielding gangsters roaming the countryside decapitating people. The more money they make, the more of that we get to have, and the more things we outlaw, the more money they make.

And in case you haven't noticed, government is a master of mission creep. The FDA already wants to make vitamins controlled substances.

I know a good prayer for you to say every morning: "I believe in government, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth..."

Booze and drugs are are for weak people who can’t deal with life and are of no use to anyone.
Weak people are a weak link in the human race.
Excuses are also for the weak.

>>>We have more people in jail THAN COMMUNIST CHINA.

Could it be that is the case because in China they execute people more than we do?

And George Washington made whiskey. And drank some of it.

How about legalizing methedrine, heroin, LSD, cocaine, crack, DMT, Oxycontin, amphetamines, downers etc? America is full of irresponsible, “live for the moment” people who will flock to all of the above.

Let 'em flock if they want; that's not the problem. The trouble starts when they drug themselves into a state of uselessness that renders them unemployable, and their kids are starving or abused. Then the liberal do-gooders insist on taking my money to feed, house, clothe and drug them!

My charitable inclinations extend to those who can't help themselves, not to those who won't.

The WOD cannot be won the way we are doing now...

Dead drug dealers by the thousands might be a good start.

...the obscenity of profit and CORRUPTION...

Most FReepers do not consider profit obscene...we do tend towards capitalism. Now the corruption, that nails it!

So you're going to run away from the question of your position on alcohol policy. Typical intellectual cowardice on the part of what are laughably called drug 'warriors'.

Maybe you'll answer a constitutional question. Do you think fedgov has legitimate authority under the Commerce Clause to impose national drug or alcohol prohibition... YES or NO?

Raid the drug cartels in Mexico like the raid in Pakistan last week...

Seems simple enough...

No because I never hear of someone in the hood with gun brake into a house to get some booze.
Typical intellectual cowardice are pro drug only to justify the need to have a crutch and can’t deal with life again your argument is futile as well as lame grow up it isn’t that hard.

So your answer to the alcohol question is "NO". See, it's not that hard to give a straight answer. Let's see if you can do the same for my question on the Constitution (which you avoided):

Do you think fedgov has legitimate authority under the Commerce Clause to impose national drug or alcohol prohibition... YES or NO?

What part fo NO don't you understand?

Ohhh, I thought your "NO" was in response to the question of whether you thought alcohol should be illegal. So that "NO" was in reply to the Commerce Clause question. Interesting.

So, if you think fedgov does not have legitimate authority under the Commerce Clause to impose national drug prohibition, then how do you justify support for the war on drugs? It seems you place your policy preference above any constitutional principles. That's known as contempt for the Constitution.

Yeah, you're so clever. Let me guess, you're a pork fried cop made of testosterone and hog fat, with a 3" penis and Mommy issues, and you stomp dogs because it makes you feel well adjusted?

Its 2" and I don't stomp dogs, I shoot them. I club cats. Get it right.

Evidently you are unfamiliar with the "making it personal" restrictions in the posting rules.

Personally I'm betting that you are simply projecting.
