Live thread: Wisconsin Supreme Court election - Prosser vs Kloppenburg

This election is important nationally too. If Kloppenburg is elected the Wisconsin mandate by the electorate in 2010 in this state will be negated by the WI Supreme Court and the unions will have won.

I live in a hardcore conservative area and discovered today that my Prosser yardsign was mutilated and thrown into one of my plantings.

Pray for Wisconsin and for Prosser's election!

What am I missing. If this is about the supreme court overturning the way the law was passed, can’t the legislature just vote again?

The early results are very close. God, I pray this doesn’t go to a recount. We know how those turn out.

Dane County is Madison. Yes, heavily liberal. If they’ve mostly reported, then Prosser should be OK

Dane is only about 10% in. The state as a whole is about 6% in.

The union made it an issue. Hopefully WI will slap them down.

Milwaukee is leaning 2-1 for Prosser.

Is that expected?

Dane County is probably to the left of Berkley and Castro.

50-50 at 9:45 EST looks like this one is going to be a nailbiter. How much you wanna bet the unions have a few extra uncounted ballot boxes that will magically appear in the next few days if the election is too close to call.

Milwaukee County hasn’t started reporting yet, that went 62% for Kerry in 2004. Turnout there will be interesting, because it could be high in some areas, low in others. Dane County hasn’t reported new votes in a while. I wouldn’t smell a rat just yet, but that is strange.

They could vote again but lib judges like Sumi + another lib on the SC could tie it up in knots and delays forever.

When it’s close, we lose because they cheat so badly. if we win narrowly, there’s always a recount and again we lose because of “found” ballots. I just know how they operate. They can’t win in a fair fight so they steal it through any means they can.

I would think that a local or state election strikes closer to home, especially given recent events in WI. The folks can decide if they want to continue down the path that’s led them to near bankruptcy, or accept that some restraints have to be put on govt.

Is it the case that this election has gotten a lot of publicity? Also, why now? Odd time for an election.

In this case it would shift the balance of power of the court to liberal - more than just this issue would be at stake.

If prosser loses, a liberal supreme court majority will overturn all Walker reforms. It won’t matter how many times the Legislature votes, the court will control ALL public policy.

They are saying that because of the political sentiment, they will not have the votes to pass it again
