McDonalds said Monday that its new "McJobs", which will staff restaurants across the U.S., will include crew and management positions, part-time and full-time, bringing its total U.S. workforce to 700,000.

Don’t the franchisees make their own hiring decisions? How can McDonalds corporate headquarters order them to hire 4 new people? What if they don’t need 4 new people?
I suppose they are always looking for people, the turn over is so high.

There were a lot of teenage kids that couldn’t even find a McDonalds job for awhile.
This is good news.
I used to love McD, now the coffee tastes bad.
Walmart’s Coffee is 11x better than McD’s now, that should tell you something.
Also, 90% of the McD’s menu is off limits to me due to my age. To be a kid again, sit there with a large bag of fries sharing with my friends.

My sister in law worked as a McD’s manager during college at a very busy, high grossing location. She said the company had a manpower recommendation based on receipts. I don’t know if that was a directive or advisement, but the parent company was involved in some capacity.
Corporate determines the target staffing level of stores, both in general based on revenue and local trends, and hourly based on revenue projections. There isn’t much that goes on in a McDs that isn’t dictated by corporate.
The last time I went into a McDonald’s there was nothing but Spanish speakers behind the counter and noticed they put in cash registers with pictures so their illegal alien employees could run them.
I swore I would never ever go back and I didn’t..

Walmart, Target, Home Depot, etc etc.... want to apply there, get ready for the questions. Gone are the days of walking in, filling out an application or handing your resume over and making a good first impression. Now it's all about the questionnaire, background check, credit history, and phone interview before you even get to meet in person to discuss the job.
If we all worked for McD’s would we all be exempt from Obama care?
