It was a real story on Drudgreport, Breitbart, and FoxNews.

Now this is debunked.

Happy this is a false alarm... Whew!

Send away this thread to la-la land...

So, if you work in Osake (south), do you go to work tomorrow?

Heck, if you work anywhere in Japan do you go to work tomorrow?

Tsunami warning called off about 30 minutes ago.

The print media is way behind Japanese live TV.

Link to live Japanese news broadcast thru CNN:

My link to the FoxNews article still works...

But fortunately, it is a false story...

I did quickly check USGS for any earthquakes large enough to generate, but I figured USGS did not have time to post yet...

Welllll - it depends - they have lines of up to 2 hours waiting for taxis and buses to take people to work today in the Tokyo area. Farther south - Osaka, etc no such issues. Tokyo is still scheduling roling blackouts and a number or larger companies (Toyota for example) have closed for the day (I think mainly to prevent drains on the power grid). My own brother-in-law was stuck at work for a day and got home the next day after a long trip, but is not going in today (monday for them)......Just got word now of a new earthquake in Gunma prefecture of magnitude 3 so things still aren’t quiet

There’s no radioactive plume either issuing from any reactor meltdown, as far as I can see despite the tenor of some of the thread.
There is certainly a crisis but some here are as close to hysteria as `no-nuke’ DUmmies.
Best wishes and luck to our good friends, the Japanese. I doubt they are shaking as badly as some here.
