Helicopter reports 10 foot tsunami off Northeast coast of Japan.
Various News agencies have confirmed.
I thought that this was now debunked! Possible landslide?
One was just canceled per Fox
CNN says nada.
CANCELLED...Tusami CANCELLED.
Man. Everyone needs to take a deep breath. Those poor people over there.
Sorry Topher I beat you earlier - and we walked through the whole process until they came on and said no wave - I’m stil not 100%, but here’s the link to prior.

Now this is debunked.
Happy this is a false alarm... Whew!
Send away this thread to la-la land...
Heck, if you work anywhere in Japan do you go to work tomorrow?
Tsunami warning called off about 30 minutes ago.
The print media is way behind Japanese live TV.
Link to live Japanese news broadcast thru CNN:

Tsunami alert canceled; explosion at unit #3.
But fortunately, it is a false story...
I did quickly check USGS for any earthquakes large enough to generate, but I figured USGS did not have time to post yet...
cnn is all rabid for some looting...they keep asking and seem confused
Thanks for pulling plug!
Welllll - it depends - they have lines of up to 2 hours waiting for taxis and buses to take people to work today in the Tokyo area. Farther south - Osaka, etc no such issues. Tokyo is still scheduling roling blackouts and a number or larger companies (Toyota for example) have closed for the day (I think mainly to prevent drains on the power grid). My own brother-in-law was stuck at work for a day and got home the next day after a long trip, but is not going in today (monday for them)......Just got word now of a new earthquake in Gunma prefecture of magnitude 3 so things still aren’t quiet
Their stock market is OPEN
Nagano - magnitude 4.2
Tsunami cancelled, will file grievance.
There’s no radioactive plume either issuing from any reactor meltdown, as far as I can see despite the tenor of some of the thread.
There is certainly a crisis but some here are as close to hysteria as `no-nuke’ DUmmies.
Best wishes and luck to our good friends, the Japanese. I doubt they are shaking as badly as some here.
