Not to put too fine a point on it, but Rush Limbaugh is talking smack about First Lady Michelle Obama's weight? Rush Limbaugh? And Michelle "you-can-cut-glass-with-my-chiseled-biceps" Obama?
As you well know, Michelle Obama has been taking plenty of criticism from the right for her nutritional campaign to encourage kids to move more and eat healthier fare. Joining her in the campaign is retail giant Wal-Mart, which recently announced it would begin reducing the sodium and fat in many of its prepared foods.

Good question: when America sneezes, we all catch cold. When your First Yeti barks about nutrition, our do-gooders bark in unison and start passing nutrition laws for our kids. And when Rush pontificates, our conservative talk-show hosts all weigh in: some pro-, some anti-.

I wouldn’t have thought you would be as ill-mannered as that, Scanian. The mere fact that I do not worship at the Temple of Rush does not make me a Troll.
And if he says silly things, it is OK to call him on that. Calling people “fat” is a lazy argument, best reserved for willowy folk — which Rush ain’t.
Conservatives have much, much better things to criticize liberals for.
‘Tis true, Rush Limbaugh has lost weight: and it is good to see. I bet he will live longer, and that can only be a good thing.
However, I bet he still has 50 lbs+ on Michelle Obama, and I bet he’d still tip the medical scales as “Obese” if not “Morbidly Obese” — even from this photo that much is plain: he has a way to go yet. (So do I)
It is not a non-sequitir to point out that “those who live in glass houses &tc.”
There’s not alot of point Rush using the “fatty-fatty-two-by-four” argument if it can be fired straight back at him, because it is self-defeating. That’s a lesson we all ought to have learned in kindergarten.
There are many better ways of defeating Michelle Obama’s homilies on weight control than that.
Here is the deal from my perspective: in the last 6 months or so, I’ve noticed a real decline in the level of “civility”(yes, that insipid liberal word) on this site. FReepers are ripping into other Freepers like never before. And certain conservative public figures who used to command respect around here are considered fair game. They don’t pass a series of litmus tests for purity, apparently.
How can anybody tee off so lustily on Limbaugh when he probably has done more than any single individual to keep the spirit of conservatism alive since Reagan left office?
If the aggressive-minded on this site feel such a need to draw blood, why not go over to DU and blast that crowd for a while? At least they truly deserve it!
All the nit-picking, worry about ideological purity, and criticism of other conservatives will not come in handy during the 2012 election cycle. If we keep ripping one another apart, we will be a soft target for the Obamaoids, as bad as they are.
And please don’t overlook the fact that plenty of them lurk and even post here. Why attack our conservative friends and give the lefties ammo?
Michelle is lecturing America on nutrition while eating like 14 Maria Antoinettes and a Basking Shark.
Please think of a pithier, more effective way of ‘defeating Michelle Obama’s homilies on weight control’ than simply pointing out what Rush has pointed out.
And when you have thought of one, please post it here.
And Sarah Palin has run a marathon in under 4 hours....quite an accomplishment.
You might be surprised how much a tall woman of average weight weighs. I had a friend who was 6 feet tall; wasn’t fat and wasn’t thin. She weighed almost 180 lbs. So mechelle being tall and rather expansive in her middle is surely well into the 200 lb range.
(As an aside, in response to nothing anyone has said: It is tyranny, BTW, to force us to eat certain things, and to control our diets.)
“Obese” by the BMI charts does not necessarily equal fat at all! I am obese according to the BMI charts, they don’t allow for differences in build or muscularity. I have a very large frame, relatively short legs and a long torso and long arms, call me apelike if you want to but most people consider me anything but fat. In fact someone this week referred to me as, “Tall, big and slim”. Most guess my weight at forty pounds or so below what I actually weigh. In fact if I dropped down to the MAX weight I am allowed by the charts people would be worried about my health and might start wondering if I had aids or something.
Just say no.
Michelle, OTOH; has found the perfect outlet for a 'soft totalitarian' MO; that satisfies her needs, as much as the ice cream she eats.
If anyone ever lived in a 'glass house' it is Michelle. Of couse, we know she is not alone in there either.

Rush doesn't claim to have the moral authority on anything; Michelle does. That was Rush's point. The fact that she eats lobsters and ribs while lecturing to others what they should eat, is actually funny.

Get it through your thick NZ skull, Rush is not lecturing anybody of what to eat, the fat lard ass Moochelle is. It doesn’t matter what Rush weighs or eats, he’s not the one telling us what to eat.

Well then maybe it is time for a little remedial eductaion for the Kiwi nation of how to illustrate obsurdity by being equally obsurd in the opposite point of view. The key word here is “illustrate” or do we need to lead you with an apple.
So let’s see, your original point about Rush being fat gets blown down the poop chute, then you complain about what happens in America either makes your life good or miserable depending on what we do.
Guess what mate, maybe the Kiwi nation should do something original like find and forment its own world identity except for being down under lite. That’s right, I said it! For those who don’t know, you can’t get a Kiwi fightin’ mad by dissing his mother, but call him an Australian and Mohammed Ali would have to employ rope-a-dope to defend himself.
