President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle have not been invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.
The Queen personally invited 40 heads of state, who received the gold-embossed invitations over the weekend to the April 29 wedding of the future king.
The Obamas, however, were not among them.
But they can take solace in the knowledge that they will be the guests of their very own state visit to the UK in May.
There have been suggestions that the state visit – the first for a US President since 2003 – was set up in return for Obama not coming to the wedding because of the added security costs involved with protecting the President.
French Prime Minister Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni will also miss out and Prince Andrew’s former wife, Sarah Ferguson – the Duchess of York – has also been snubbed.

There are no requirements that "Turds of State" be invited.
England is hoping for a one term Obama, and then we can get back to our traditional alliance. BTW, it might save us a few bucks not having Mooch and Barack go over for another recreational outing.
The Queen should send them a CD with a filmed record of the event.
They probably figured the Øbongo’s would be out of town vacationing anyway...;-)
Oh yeah, maybe on the Queen's iPod when she regifts it (back) to Øbozo on his May visit.

Wouldn’t it great if John Boehner was invited and while he was there to ask for the bust of Winston Churchill be returned and held in safe keeping until we get our country back?
Even he wasn’t put on the invite list, ask for it anyhow, he could put it on his desk in his office.
Could be a powerful message.
