What a crock of warmed over crap.
That is as much of a crock as the Jed bush part. Not going to happen.
Found a jug of shine didn’t you
These folks should at the very least be smart enough to understand the concept “too soon”.
A “chorus” of John J. Miller, Kathryn Jean Lopez, and Rich Lowry of National RINO On-line?
Hilarious.
The more they sing, the more you know what a disaster Jebbie would be.
Barnabus Jones.
Make that Barnabus Collins, I must have geriatric PIs on the brain.
“Does SP want to run for anything again?”
I think she gets the attention she gets because there’s a lot of people hoping she will make a run for president. If that were literally off the table, I’m not sure how much attention she would draw year after year. The nice thing about Veep is that it has so little formal responsibility. Each occupant can make of that office what they will (Dick Cheney was virtually co-president, at least WRT foreign/defense policy). She can pick and choose what issues to trumpet and surely be able to do at least the same amount of “speechifying” as she does now.
If they were creative, they’d run on a 16-year plan to fix America. That would recognize that tackling huge problems such as the structural budget deficit, entitlements, health care, tax reform etc. can’t be done instantaneously. But by giving the business community reassurance that there’s going to be stability in policy and a general trend towards less regulation and lower taxes, I think they’d kick off an economic boom that would rival Reagan’s. Thus, by the time it came for her to run, she’d be more than ready.
Sarah’s an ambitious woman. She’s done very well financially for her family, so I don’t see that it would be a big economic sacrifice to do what I’m proposing. VP makes $75K more a year than Alaskan governor PLUS gets a big house to live in. Even if she never ran for president, she’d get a pension for life and surely knows she could sell another book or two for millions once she left office. She cares about America and it has a lot of things needing fixing (mostly inside the Beltway). Why NOT her?
If he is the nominee, Obama will have a second term.
All I hear is crickets! No more Bush’s.
Strategic, forward thinking. Something that can be lacking in political conversations.
Your scenario looks very sound to me. In fact, the whole concept of a co-presidency is one that I find to be very appealing (assuming of course you have quality people in there, not a Muslim Marxist and a reject from clown school like we have now). No doubt to me Dick Cheney was co-president, and the freedom loving world was better off for it.
I just wonder if SP will put up with the crap. I suspect we'll find out sooner or later.
He probably WILL get the nomination. The same thing happened with “W”. Basically came out of nowhere and was shoved down our throats......
Three people sing praises to Jeb. Wow! That’s not even a small parade. It’s a monkey and three organ grinders.
This use of the term ‘hatred’ has become over popular. This isn’t hatred, simply rejection of the government spending and expansion that went along with the Bush dynasty. I don’t hate GWB or GHWB at all. In fact, I enjoy seeing them out and about (as at the Super Bowl this past Sunday). I just don’t want to see them back in the Presidency.
thanks for that.
I think many people have forgotten all the good things Bush did and are focusing on the bad things.
It’s like they are agreeing with Obama that everything bad going on is because of Bush’s spending.
Perhaps hate was too strong a word but are you okay with my saying that many freepers despise and blame Bush to an unfair degree.
Thank you my National Review Overlords. I almost supported a Reagan type conservative but I shall follow your Fatwa. Alla Akbar!
There are FReepers of most, if not all, stripes. So, it’s quite likely some hate the Bush’s. Just as there are some who hate Sarah Palin as well as those who simply love her. But that doesn’t mean anyone wishing an end to Bush involvement in a future administration is guilty of hate (as I stated).
There’s also been talk of Jeb Bush possibly running for a Florida Senate seat. That’s up to Floridians. It’s their vote. As for me, I’d not be happy with that due to his stance on immigration. But that’s me.
I don’t hate (and I’m confident most here don’t as well...). But I do vote my values.
Not really, we just not buying into the scams. We are FReepers you know.
