Where do you think Mubarek is speaking from? Egypt or Switzerland?

From TWITTER:

Since when does the State Department forgo traditional diplomatic channels in favor of Twitter?

It looks like the White House is using this opportunity to present Obama as some sort of foreign policy guru: Axelrod: President Obama Has “On Several Occasions Directly Confronted” Mubarak on Human Rights for the Past 2 Years “To Get Ahead of This”

TAPPER: Hosni Mubarak is not a good guy and that government tortures, is repressive, doesn’t believe in the same freedoms we do and they’re also one of our closest allies in the Middle East.

AXELROD: Obviously these are the challenges of the presidency in a very difficult world. And, but the way he’s confronted it, is he went to Cairo and talked about the need, the universal human rights of people. He’s -- on several occasions directly confronted Pres. Mubarak on it. And pushed him on the need for political reform --

TAPPER: To get ahead of this.

AXELROD: -- in his country. Exactly to get ahead of this. This is a project he’s been working on for 2 years and today the president is working hard to encourage restraint and a cessation of violence against the people of Egypt.

So once again, it's all about Obama.

Obama speaking, wants Egyptian gov officials to not interfere with ‘peaceful’ protesters.

Apparently, Obama was not told of the police vehicles being set on fire, of the government buildings being set on fire.

From another thread:
As many of you know, [I] am old network TV newsie. Just tapped former proven source, retired VERY senior CIA officer. No Hq paper-pusher type, he is the real deal, a highly successful very senior ME field operator. Retired as ES-4.

His assessment (in shorthand:)

1. If Egypt falls, disaster for US. Put succinctly; "the horse we bet all our life savings on may be about to drop dead in the backstretch."

2. If Egypt gmvt falls, radical Muslim Brotherhood will be the new power, totally.

3. If Egypt falls, Jordan and Saudi are in trouble, but not necessarily gone. Even Syria is not safe.

4. Although Muslim Brotherhood would take over, the cause of revolt is not religion but the lack of jobs, horrible standard of living. Saudi and Jordan citizens have somewhat better conditions, so might be saved.

5. Egyptian Army is the absolute key. If Army stays local, Mubarak may be safe. If they falter, he is absolute toast.

6. Problem is, Army does not like Mubarak. They loved Sadat, he was one of them, but they do not like Hosni.

7. If Egypt falls, biggest winners are Iran and Russia. Iran becomes big kid on block. Russia desperately needs crude oil prices to go up to help economy. They prosper at $90 barrel crude. This could create $220, $250 a barrel crude oil prices

10. Biggest loser #1; USA. Oil prices cripple economy. Even worse, word in every diplomatic circle becomes "See what happens to America's friends."

Bottom line; possible/probable disaster for US
Actual thread can be read HERE.

While the world burns.

My 2c: The US and Israel should leave no fingerprints at all on this mess - just sit back and watch it play out. Watch it closely. One thing seems certain: Mubarak is toast.

The "good people" took power from the King and Marie Antoinette....and the Reign of Terror and Madame Guillotine murderers hijacked the revolution.

Same thing in Russian. The "good people" overthrew the Tsarist dynasty....and in the ensuing chaos, the Communists took over the Duma and the country after murdering the Tsar and his family.

The "good people" are on their way to overthrowing Mubarek and his regime. Mingling in with the unknowing "good people" are the Islam Brotherhood radicals. They're fomenting the riots and plan to take power during the ensuing chaos when the time is ripe.

Glenn Beck for a year has been explaining how "chaos" is both created and exploited by radicals to reach their own goals.

The Muslim, Obama and his shrill, out-of-her-league tool, Madame Hillary, can be counted on to screw the situation up big time to the benefit of a Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt.

A word search on “Egypt” in Isaiah’s writing show’s SOME of the HISTORY of God’s dealing with Egypt during his time and possibly in the future yea? (present day?)Depending on your eschatology take.

The burden of Egypt: Behold! Jehovah rides on a light cloud and comes into Egypt. And the idols of Egypt shall tremble from before Him; and the heart of Egypt shall melt in its midst. Isaiah 19:1

And I will stir up Egyptians against Egyptians; and they each man shall fight against his brother; and each against his neighbor; city against city, kingdom against kingdom.

Isaiah 19:2

would read all of chapters 19,20 if interested-and other scriptures that relate to it.
