'Birthers' have become respectable
WND ^ | January 24, 2011 | Joseph Farah

I want to tip my hat to my friends Rush Limbaugh and Matt Drudge for helping immensely in raising the visibility of a story WND has been championing for more than two years.

That story, of course, is one the entire country – in fact, the entire world – now knows about.

It is the question of Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility for the presidency.

Last week, both of these men, in their own way, made it respectable to talk about and write about the absolute, established fact that Obama is hiding something in his steadfast refusal to release his long-form birth certificate to the public.

Rush has long joked about the missing birth certificate, for which I have been grateful. But last Friday he opened his show with an extensive monologue on the controversy, crediting WND with breaking the story. (In fact, WND has written hundreds of stories about the issue since 2008. More meaningful coverage, I believe, than all the rest of the media combined.)

"The story originated at WorldNetDaily … and, of course, if it originates anywhere outside the mainstream press, the mainstream press will not acknowledge it," explained Limbaugh.

Has Orly issued any statements?

Possibly she is standing aside to let an independent story take its course. If it pans out that the Emperor has no clothes and the news is completely independent of Orly, it’s even more damaging.

I do give much credit to WND. However, the notion he has been the only outlet pursuing this is nonsense. Individual freepers have done as much or more work on this as WND. As well as some bloggers.

Whomever becomes the GOP nominee in 2012 should post a detailed resume with copies of University transcripts, and all other pertinent info on the candidate, including a copy of their birth certificate.

Let their life history be displayed before all.

In doing so, the obvious question will be raised: Why do you not do the same, Husein?

This would carry more weight if it wasn't coming from World Net Daily.

Better yet, let’s have every Republican presidential candidate release all the above information upon announcing that they are running for the nomination. Vetting within the party is important too.

Besides, why wait months when the pressure can start mounting on Obama now, like Chinese water torture, every time another Republican announces entry into the race. Sweet.

Rush and Matt can raise all the heck they want, there is still a whole population out there that has a very low opinion of them and their rants and will ignore anything they say.

Yeah, WHY are they claiming that the BC story starts with them?????

Both they have a high opinion of themselves, one which I'm positive that Polarik and others do not share.

That grey haired weirdo whose so full of himself on CNN tried to get Eric Cantor to declare that ALL BIRTHERS ARE CRAZY NUTS --- I saw a reply, and it was vile.

Last night Crissy Spittle Matthews also tried to get all of his guests to declare the Birfers mad & nuts & crackpots and whatever, God only knows why these media weirdos maintain jobs..... they are very unintelligent and extremely lacking in logic and rationality.

Time to stack up all BO’s lies & tangential issues; NBC eligibility, Campaign contribution fraud, college records, illegal firing of IG’s, auto dealers, stealing from GM bold holders, etc., etc.....keep it on the front page.

This would carry more weight if it wasn't coming from World Net Daily.

World Net Daily may be sensationalistic at times, but they have championed the cause of internet alternate news from the very beginning.

The biggest thing WND did was challenge the Clinton Administration and Congess regarding the credentialing of the press. We learned from WND's crusade that a small cabal of press corps insiders determined who got WH day passes and who got permanent WH press passes.

WND was being denied passes because of Paul Sperry's reporting early reporting on White House emails and the downgrade of the White House phone system, as well as embarrassing Clinton during an childrens's Easter egg event. As a result, WND was denied daily press passes to the daily briefings. WND complained, and demanded a change to the way that WH accreditation was determined.

They won.

He was contemptuous of birthers last night. I’m curious if he will be the next person let go by Comcast.
