Ted Nugent: I love Palin but I couldn’t vote for her right now
Hot Air ^ | 1/6/11 | Allahpundit

Posted on 01/06/2011 7:16:39 PM PST by pissant

Dude, I think we just found our keynote speaker for RINOcon.

“(Palin’s) coming from the street, she’s coming from the we-the-people rank-and-file, she makes sense when she talks, she says all the right things, she’s sincere, she’s knowledgeable , she’s articulate, she’s damn good-looking, plus she kills moose, how can you go wrong?” Nugent gushed.

However, when Cooper pressed Nugent on whether Palin would make a good president, Nugent balked.

“It’s too early to tell. Right know, if we had a vote, I couldn’t vote for Sarah Palin. And I love her. I love her madly, and I respect her.”

I never thought I’d say this but now I’m honestly curious to know who the Nuge is backing in 2012. He’s campaigned with her, he’s written fawning tributes to her — I figured he was a true blue Palinista come the primaries. What now? Is Uncle Ted a Pence supporter? Mitch Daniels? Everything I thought I knew about the world has been shattered.

Here is your chance to explain to the board what you consider too far right.

Is it supporting the Constitution, Family, a strong Military, understanding our Second Amendment Rights “shall not be infringed”, fighting Elitist Political Corruption or opposing the soft Tyranny that is currently ruining our Country and stripping away our God given freedoms?

Seriously, if your opposition of the things I have just outlined causes you distress and mistrust of the posters here, the Daily Kos will be your voice of reason. If so, thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful life.

Still didn't answer the questions pissant, I'll increase their boldness so you can see them better:
I was wondering if tax paying female citizens of this country are the only ones you feel shouldn't be allowed to vote or are there other groups?
Is your discrimination just related to sex of the voter or are there other discrimination's you would like to mention?

So as not to accidently forget your post:

Not a surprise. As an old Ted Nugent fan (although he's a washed-up has-been now) it is easy to ascertain from his back catalog that Ted is an old-school chauvinist if not downright misogynistic.

We had a President through the Great Depression and WW2 in a wheelchair.

Do you think he knew everything there was to know about the world when he took office ? He didn’t want anything to do with the war in Europe and it was NOT on his mind when he won is 32. I am sure he never dreamed about being a war President.

Lets hold Sarah Palin to the same standard that we held for past Presidents. If men were held to that same standard, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and John F. Kennedy would have never won an election.

Why? I am not advocating that we have a woman elected.

I know the phrase "Sarah has balls" is tossed around here, but *pssst* I don't think she really does. Keep it under your hat.

Why do these people even want a candidate that is treated good by the liberal media ? Isnt their such a thing as conviction and right and wrong ?

If a candidate is treated good by the liberal media, that means there is something wrong with that candidate.

Come on pissant, man up and answer the questions, or are you not proud of your statement on women's suffrage (right to vote). You seemed to be pretty proud of your statement when you made it on the Duncan Hunter thread:

I was wondering if tax paying female citizens of this country are the only ones you feel shouldn't be allowed to vote or are there other groups?
Is your discrimination just related to sex of the voter or are there other discrimination's you would like to mention?

So as not to accidentally forget your statement:

Where did I say I was in the Tea Party, or are you just assuming? We’ve gotten **tons** of OfA, ACORN, Soros, AmeriCorps, SEIU and other Obots here since 2007 and I imagine their #1 priority is destroying Gov. Palin’s chances of winning the GOP nomination. If you are truly a sincere person and not an Obot, well, time will tell. New posters come under a lot of scrutiny and we all went through it at one time.

Being involved with politics and conservative activism since. Really it started on 9/11 when I was still in High School. But as a voter it started in 2004 when I went door to door and worked the phones for President Bush.

I have to say that being involved with politics in turning into a nightmare in my life. I am truly thinking about living how my grandfather lived. Just tuning out and focus on nothing but raising my family, working hard during the week a then going fishing on the weekends or something like that. The man was one of least informed people I know. He never let anything bring him down and maybe that is why.

I have dreamed of how great it would be to serve in congress or be a governor. I love my country so much. But if the politician I admire the most is chased out of her statehouse and then rejected as a fool by the American people. What kind of chance would I have ?

No. I am not obsessed with Governor Palin. I see a lot of me and who I want to be in her. I have been rooting for her because I wanted to see if a kid born into a middle class family in some little town like myself could ever have a chance to become a leader and make our country better. I feel like the answer is becoming clear.

and I feel like giving up.

If a candidate is treated good by the liberal media, that means there is something wrong with that candidate.

Eventually every Republican candidate will be treated poorly by the liberal media. It happens every election cycle.

Guys like McCain and Bob Dole are treated like reincarnations of Attila The Hun once they wrap up the GOP nomination.

Ridiculous. Congress is full of people who came from nowhere and never gave up.

Man up. Knock off the whining. You sound like a fricking liberal panty-waisted wusshead.

I couldn't vote for Palin right now either, so I guess I'm with Pissant and Nugent.

Now, voting for her in November of next year is an entirely different story!

Don’t.

I had to study Politics because after working through the summer to catch up every other course after a bad accident, my options were limited. It was an education in how a politician’s mindset is actually forced to change as they realise that shooting their mouth off before attaining high office isn’t the same as shooting your mouth off IN high office.

Your grandfather simply wouldn’t have been remotely aware of just how complicated politics can get behind the scenes at the national level.

A small town politician or even a state politician can speak his or her mind confident that they know their audience and have a pretty good idea what the reaction will be, and who’ll do what.

At a national level it’s a whole different ball game.

These days, a nation (even an ally) can do harm to America simply by sending a data stream down a wire to an Australian hippy, or turning a tap on a pipeline. Throw one little spanner into a big economic engine and you can create a fair amount of mischief.

In the good old days a nation needed to commit manpower and time and resources to go to war so there had to be a pretty compelling excuse to pick a fight.

But these days any nation state (big or small) can do plenty of economic damage to another, just by turning a tap, and any excuse can suffice.

Look at what the Chinese are doing to Japan with rare earth metals, what Russia did to European oil supplies using Ukraine as the excuse, and of course look how the French feigned panic over BSE to bolster their own market at the expense of the United Kingdom despite having the same problem there as we had here...

One out of turn comment from a politician on the world stage can result in instant worldwide media coverage, and that in turn can lead to a myriad of consequences that you or your grandfather or the Founding Fathers would never have conceived of.

Sarah Palin is a bit like Prince Philip in that she’s presently in a position where she has the luxury of being able to speak her mind with total impunity, even to the point of offending Johnny Foreigner and his government, without consequences, BECAUSE right now her opinions don’t reflect the official position of the White House, Congress, or the nation as a whole.

That would probably change if she did stand for the Presidency because her public statements could be interpreted as to reflect the official position of the United States of America and her advisors would be receiving all kinds of information behind the scenes to the effect of, “today’s a really bad day to offend the Chinese ambassador” which you and I don’t get to hear.

Learning politics taught me about how that stuff works.

I won't go as far as this guy

but she has been damaged and needs to be very impressive for a longer period to live down those early missteps with Couric and the like.

I don’t think she’s in the running this time around. The guys that want the job had a debate last week, I think?

Anyhow, my guy Reince Priebus, who runs the WI GOP wants the job and after what he did for Wisconsin on November 2nd, he’d be awesome for the RNC as a whole.

I anticipated a flood of responses from last night and got them. They were fun to read. FYI, I am NOT new to this board. I commented under the name of Nodems2000 for about 10 years. I wanted to comment on something a few weeks ago, and I couldn’t get my password to open, so I came under this new name. So for all those who tell me to keep moving, I can do that. But I’ve never engaged in quite the heated arguments that we’ve engaged in. If you don’t believe I’m Nodems2000, if you can think of someway that I can verify who I am, lay it on me...I’ll go with it. I’m fed up with the paranoids who have me in SEIU, ACORN, or any of the other disgusting liberal groups that you’ve identified. I also want to say, I organized a national march to DC for the impeachment of Bill Clinton on Veterans Day 2000. Remember when Ross Perot was going to bring thousands of trucks from all of the country with petitions for impeachment and they’d all meet up in DC and then they would have a rally in Lafayette Park. Well guess what this “liberal” did. I reserved the park before Perot and I have no idea why, but he ultimately cancelled his march, didn’t he? But our rally took place. I’ve worked HARD for republican and conservative candidates all my adult life. Just because I do not support Sarah Palin that should not cancel me out as a true conservative through and through. I haven’t changed my conservative views. I just happen to support another candidate - you all will rip them up - but you’ll note I haven’t ripped Sarah. I respect your choice but I can’t support her. I like Newt because I’ve campaigned for him for years and I like him because he’s tough, has great ideas, and I’m sure a hell of a lot smarter than ANYONE on this board. The baggage? Everyone has baggage. I’m not looking for a husband, I’m looking for a fighter who has the int’l scene down pat and sharp enough to handle the proverbial 3 a.m. phone call. I also like Chris Christie. He is smart and tough as well. Now I’m going to get a new barrage of criticism. Have at it boys

Ohio, you think anyone who disagrees with you is a wusshead. I don’t think steele-resolve is a wuss at all - but you would say that’s because I’m a wuss. I see steele as a sincere, dedicated individual who is facing some of the realities of modern politics. Why the heck do you think people are fleeing the country - you do know that don’t you? They are FED UP. Some people feels it’s hopeless and they want to go fishing like steele and that’s their choice.
