Dr. Andrew Wakefield's 1998 report in the journal Lancet purporting to show a link between autism and the vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella "was based not on bad science but on a deliberate fraud," says Dr. Fiona Godlee, editor in chief of BMJ, formerly the British Medical Journal, in an editorial published Tuesday. The editorial accompanies the first of three reports by British investigative journalist Brian Deer that document how Wakefield manipulated data in his attempts to prove something that he "knew" before he started his research. Most of the information in the reports has been published previously, but the recent publication of the General Medical Council's 6-million-word transcript of the hearing in which Wakefield's license to practice medicine in Britain was revoked allowed the editors of BMJ to peer-review Deer's reports and confirm the extensive falsifications in the original Lancet paper.

Behavior of this sort from so-called “scientists” isn’t surprising. Sadly, it’s becoming more common. Just look at the AGW crusaders, the FDA, etc.
The money trail must always be followed. Mistakes happen but I’ve developed a deep distrust of scientists and the grant/tenure process.
BS. My wife’s best friend has a boy who was basically just above catatonic. I saw this little man multiple times. He was basically retarded. She became very active in the autism community in TX and detoxed her son. This boy is now as normal as any kid.
We had twin girls almost 7 years ago. Due to this intimate experience we spread out the vaccinations and didn’t give some. One of my girls seems to have Aspergers. The other is sharp as a whip. I’m working on getting her right, because it can be done.
What I take from this is that mercury affects people differently. Basically, genetics.

there was a second study done based on this first one. The second confirmed the findings of the first. None of the crap about retractions and fraud have been aimed at the second, and better study, which only underscored the conclusions of the first study.

The only people who condemn the studies come from pharma backgrounds, and government types who want to nanny our children for us.
I have not given any vaccinations to my 7 year old daughter, her little immune system is as it should be and works incredibly well.

I think they’re playing the game of large numbers. It only affects a “relative” few. But those it affects is beyond devastating. I took my girls to a movie two nights ago and I’m watching one of my girls watching this movie out of the side of her eye, half the time. She’s as sweet a girl as you’d ever meet but she’s not all there. I blame the shots. Her twin sister is a miniature Martha Stewart and is basically about 5 yrs older than her age.

By the way, I did a report on the Wakefield study when I was in college. I would believe him WAY before any ginned up “proof” dug up by the Big Pharma groups and paid off govt. officials. He was set up and vilified like everyone who DARES go off the reservation Neo-Marxists agenda.

Our son received the MMR triple dose vaccine at 12 months. This was far too early. He is high functioning, but definitely autistic. Right after those injections, we started seeing changes in him, but didn’t put any of together until much later.
Our daughter, who is now 23 received only 11 shots before age 2. Our youngest w/ autism: received 22-23 injections before age 2.
Makes you wonder.
That’s why I asked. My son is also high functioning but autistic. His sister is not. The question I have is how to check for heavy metal contamination and what methods there are to correct for this if it is possible.

I’d like to know what the children died of due to a lack of immunizations. This article is the most specific I have read as it states that four children died, usually its just a vague “children died”. But this still doesn’t reveal the exact disease(s).
I have a 5 month old and am very torn about what to do. I’ve held off vaccinations to this point but am somewhat fearful of him catching a deadly disease. My daughter had a horrid reaction to a group of vaccines when she was about 20 months old. She was like a zombie for 5 days...of our 5 children, she is the most vivacious so it was a terrifying 5 days. She didn’t smile, chatter or laugh and if you waved your hand in front of her face, she didn’t even blink. I thought we had lost her forever. I believe it was divine intervention that brought her back.
I have to agree. Some of the reasons for the shots seem ridiculous.
My son was born totally normal and beautiful. He met all his milestones right on time until after the MMR. What else could make a child poop out baseball sized black stools, hard as a rock, lose their speech, begin to have strange neurological deficits? Something gets to their brains and, in many cases, to their gut ...something. What is it? He still can’t eat or drink milk or wheat w/o having a very strange odor and pattern to his stools. We have to always put him on a gluten free/casein free diet or give him digestive enzymes.
If the vaccine program was ever implicated in autism, the world would come to a screeching HALT.

You can search out a DAN (Defeat Autism Now) physician in your area, or nearby. That would be a start. Generation Rescue is also a good starting point. Good luck. Detox/chelation can be hard on the kidneys. Be very careful.
We requested at the hospital not to have our preemie baby vaccinated against Hep B...I found out 2 weeks ago that they did it anyway. We both remember the nurse entering that we declined the vaccination. It’s the only one he has had. Now what do we do? I was so mad I cried. He spent two weeks in the ICN just struggling to breathe and eat, his body didn’t need to be fighting to make anti-bodies against a disease he had no chance of catching.
Thimersol is the product used to extend the life of vaccines. It contains mercury. This issue has been out there for awhile.

The unfortunate argument against that, is a very dear friend of mine paints with her mouth because she is a paraplegic from the polio vaccination.
I had a very long discussion with my daughter’s pediatrician when she was 18 months old...Polio was the one that I was concerned with. He said Polio is gone in the western hemisphere, except for those countries that use the oral vaccination still, and then it’s contagious to others. That’s the only reason you see it periodically in the news, and it is always associated with the oral vax.
The doctor said I should be more concerned with tetanus, which is interesting since hot water and soap, Neosporine and oral antibiotics are so readily available.
He also said that he was required(???) to continue to inform me of the vaccination schedule, and that I had to decline it every time I brought my daughter in. We simply stopped going for wellness check ups - and only go if there is a need. (amazingly enough, the only need was to get cactus quills out one time...she’s just never sick except for a minor cold here and there.)
I'm not from a pharma background, and I'm not associated with the government. I have looked at several studies, and the conclusions are very clear from large, well done studies. Vaccines have nothing to do with autism.
We agree to disagree then - however - your pharma backed studies, should not legislate what I do for my child.

So even though there is no evidence thimerosal causes any problems, it has been removed.

Did your report on the Wakefield study make note of the fact that it was commissioned and funded for planned lawsuits against BIG PHARMA? You should read the actual story in the British Medical Journal regarding Wakefield’s fraud. Some of the parents of the kids in the study are really ticked off that he so misrepresented their conditions both pre- and post-vaccination.
By the way, Ben Franklin and George Washington were patriots who put their lives on the line. John Wayne never actually set foot on the sands of Iwo Jima (though he was good at play-acting).

There was a doctor once whose son was tested after coming down with Autism—they tested for toxins. He was way off the charts. They started detox and he did improve. It was a long time ago, that I watched the video...I graduated in 2004. I did a paper on Wakefield....his report was on children who developed severe diarrhea—bowel syndrome— after the MMR. The parents pleaded for him to help them. Their children were healthy and happy prior to the shot.
They used to separate those vaccines (until the Autism spike). When they group them, the baby has all these unnatural elements injected all at once to deal with. .....It is cheaper for companies to group them and saves doctors visits...it is not better for the children—THEY KNOW THAT!...it is better for PROFITS.
Boys are more susceptible to mercury poisoning....that mercury goes right to the brain and kills the neurons.....eats them right up....and male hormones speed up the process.
I think the ratio is 3:1 with boys getting Autism more frequently. Mercury poisoning symptoms are identical to the symptoms of Autism. I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. I studied both symptoms. They have lots of information on Mercury poisoning from studies where seafood was contaminated.
Once government started mandating HEP B shots for one day olds...I know that they care NOTHING for the health of babies. NOTHING. If they are damaged, then they really make tons of money off of the children. It is sickening how trusting parents are of GOVERNMENT. And what was the death rate for children who WERE immunized?
If a child dies of measles, haemophilus Influenzae B (HIB), diptheria, tetanus, polio or rubella, it’s highly likely to be a death that could have been prevented by vaccination. I’m old enough to have started in medicine before the HIB vaccine, and I saw some young children die of HIB meningitis, and a few almost die from epiglottitis (almost always due to HIB).
It’s sad that so much credence was given in the first place to a study that involved a grand total of 12 children. Now that it has been proven that Wakefield had a financial motive and that he lied in his Lancet article, it is sadder that some folks still support the fraud.

All of the organizations and books written about this subject were dreamed up? These people didn’t have anything better to do? Or were they just trying to sell something?
