PANAMA CITY, Fla. — A gunman has opened fire during a Florida Panhandle school board meeting. It's not immediately known if there were fatalities or injuries.
A WMBB television reporter at Tuesday's meeting says the man came up to the podium at the Bay District School Board meeting and said he had a motion. He then pulled out a can of red spray paint and painted a "V" with a circle around it.
Reporter Nadeen Yanes tells her station he then pulled out a handgun and started talking.
Yanes says a school board member hit the gunman with her purse and he pushed her to the ground and started firing randomly.

Yup. In the extraordinarily rare occasion that this kind of thing happens, I have to wonder what it was that precipitated the event. Was it a Drega moment, or just a nutjob.
I find it interesting to look at the reactions of sites like this and DU before any real information is in. The knee jerk responses are informative.
Given how heavy-handed government at all levels can be these days, and how aribtary and capriciously they often act, it's suprising that something similar doesn't happen more often.
Thankfully Gun free zones have prevented shootings in places like Columbine, VT, Westroads Mall in Omaha and the Amish school. Oh wait, never mind.

I am grateful that they are ok, but this press conference is gag worthy. They act like they just went through Vietnam or Afghanistan. It is rather funny. I absolutely am glad that they are ok, but this is way over the top.
