Turn out the lights, the party's over
Washington Times ^ | December 2,1012 | Wesley Pruden

Posted on 12/03/2010 6:45:06 AM PST by Hojczyk

Scams die hard, but eventually they die, and when they do, nobody wants to get close to the corpse. You can get all the hotel rooms you want this week in Cancun.

The global-warming caravan has moved on, bound for a destination in oblivion. The United Nations is hanging the usual lamb chop in the window this week in Mexico for the U.N.'s Framework Convention on Climate Change, but the Washington guests are staying home. Nobody wants to get the smell of the corpse on their clothes.

Everybody who imagined himself anybody raced to Copenhagen last year for the global-warming summit, renamed "climate change" when the globe began to cool, as it does from time to time. Some 45,000 delegates, "activists," business representatives and the usual retinue of journalists registered for the party in Copenhagen. This year, only 1,234 journalists registered for the Cancun beach party. The only story there is that there's no story there. The U.N. organizers glumly concede that Cancun won't amount to anything, even by U.N. standards.

Rep. Henry A. Waxman of California, who wrote and sponsored the cap-and-trade legislation last year, says he'll be too busy with congressional business (buying stamps for the Christmas cards and getting a haircut and a shoeshine) even to think about going to Cancun. Last year, he joined Speaker Nancy Pelosi and dozens of other congressmen in taking staffers and spouses to the party in Copenhagen. The junket cost taxpayers $400,000, but Copenhagen is a friendly town and a good time was had by all. This year, they're all staying home, learning to live like lame ducks.

After seeing one video of the extravagance in Cancun, I'm not surprised that no one wants to be there. The failure and hypocrisy is overwhelming, even for people that celebrate failure and hypocrisy.

My guess is these scumbags are more afraid of the being anywhere in Mexico, than relinquishing their belief in their "globull" religion.

That was good! I will re-subscribe to Washington Times after all.

One wonders if the Mexican drug cartel's penchant for kidnapping and random barrages of automatic weapons fire will go TDY to Cancun. Fat, happy, stupid targets EVERYWHERE...

I guess some people got rich while they could over this farce. How long will it take for school children and teachers to realize it isn’t true? Until the next scam comes along?

In my opinion, the lies, deceptions, and corruption coming out of this Regime, this Congress, the thugs in the Fed, et al. is centered in the politicians in this government. Behold arrogant, amoral Elitists. IMO and the opinion of We The People, they are loathsome power-hungry, traitors. These enemies of freedom have sold out their country, her freedom, and our children and grandchildren’s future for their own self-serving quest for power.

Can I interest you in buying some Carbon Credits?

The look like valuable stock certificates, and are really neat!

You can purchase them to "offset" your car, house, boat, and lifestyle (no joke). They take credit cards.

3,000 deaths in the Mexico drug war about 100 miles from Texas (Chihuahua, Mexico) and the stupid government won’t close the border??

We had 3,000 deaths on 9/ll. How many dead bodies does it take for the government to undertake their constitutionally required action against terrorism?

I'm glad that it is finally pronounced dead.

Sort of like disco being pronounced dead in 1994.

How many months or years before the quacks noticed that the decaying patient wasn't breathing?

I STILL run onto yahoos on Answerbag that swear alligence to Al “Tommy Flanagan” Gore because, “All the scientists agree.”

Sheesh!

What an amazing amount of wasted time, money and carbon credits by these idiots.

*I guess some people got rich while they could over this farce. How long will it take for school children and teachers to realize it isn’t true? Until the next scam comes along?*

Predicted New Scam:

Giant bowling pins will fall from the sky every time your child drinks a pop! This can only be solved though higher taxes and more government control. All scientists are in consensus. Bowling pins falling from sky are up 300% since we've been tracking it in 1907.

Look at our hockeystick graph.

Notice how many less pinsetters there are in bowling alleys since the 1940’s! The pins got them. This PROVES our science. Do not believe the deniers that say bowling pins do not fall from the sky.

Look at our computer models that PROVE it!

George Bush never said that they fall from the sky. What was he covering up? In fact, thousands of Conservative politicians have remained silent on the global bowling pin problem.

If it doesn't rain bowling pins, that is because bowling pins falling causes bowling pins not to fall!
Whether they fall or not, it proves our point. Bowling Pin change is REAL, we swear it is. Believe us, we have science on our side!

What an ideal product!

It’s a product that doesn’t exist that you never have to deliver. No overhead. Makes the perfect Christmas gift!

This story is very amusing, but the fact is that our economy is seriously hobbled by the EPA and a variety of laws that make it difficult, time consuming and expensive, if not impossible, to produce things in this country. That's what our elected leaders need to attack.

Defund the EPA if you can't abolish it. Start returning environmental regulation to the states. Those who want industry will provide the climate for it, and those who don't want it can go to hell and feel really good about themselves doing it.

The whole world is noticing the screaming fraud associated with AGW, yet our very own EPA continues to march, mandating controls over how we live our life.
