Senate Bill 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act, has been called "the most dangerous bill in the history of the United States of America." It would grant the U.S. government new authority over the public's right to grow, trade and transport any foods. This would give Big brother the power to regulate the tomato plants in your backyard. It would grant them the power to arrest and imprison people selling cucumbers at farmer's markets. It would criminalize the transporting of organic produce if you don't comply with the authoritarian rules of the federal government. Continue:

I’m sure this would apply to the Wookie’s victory garden...
This bill would destroy the family farm entirely and even give government authority over gardens grown in back yards. You would essentially have to go through government to buy seeds. It’s even more dangerous than Obamacare.
I'll use her as a model for how to do it.
You always have to remember: The government only writes bills that line the pockets of special interests. No exception.
This bill is designed to force people to buy veggies from commercial sources and to generate income for the governments as fines and penalties.
ALL legislation is written in this manner....PERIOD!
This bill would standardize the food industry. That will make things a heckuva lot less safe, not more.
The Irish had a highly efficient and standardized agricultural sector way back in 1845. How did that work out for them?
So, providing for yourself and family will now be a crime.
Well, that’s, uh, “change”.
They’re assembling a million turkey inspectors and will arrest anyone serving turkey that hasn’t reached 165 degrees.....and don’t you dare attempt to refuse them entry this Thursday!!!!!
Oh....did I mention the unemployment numbers will look better for November as a result of this stimulus expenditure?
“providing for yourself and family will now be a crime”
That’s the intent.
“Self-sufficiency” is anathema to leftist control freaks.
Hello Guerrilla gardening.
well said. the government is an asset transfer machine.
For anyone that gets caught up in this crap -
remember the “Bowman strategy”:
Don’t fight it out when they come for you. Do what you can to remain free. Find out who sent them. Go after that person on your own terms.
This is a lie. Knock it off. Reading is apparently difficult.

Think seriously about who obama is, what he has said and done, who his influences were and are and what they want to do and who he has surrounded himself with since acquiring the Presidency...and the power they all now have.
And people thought this would be a good idea?
This is yet another test to see how much/many of your rights will you willingly surrender to them and what story you'll accept to make that happen.
Where do vegetables for the North come from in winter? Mexico and South America?
With all the regulations surrounding water, how much can California and Arizona supply and, given the cost of energy, what will be the price?
How does this facilitate the eradication of *food deserts*?
How does this facilitate the *war on obesity*?
I doubt they will have the ability or the will to go after our small family plots. How can they even know if someone has saved their own seeds?
This is just another way to grow government. It will irritate a large segment of the population who were previously supporters of zerO and the donks. No matter what they say, publicly, small producers cannot be happy about more hoops and more paperwork. They are already nearly overwhelmed.
