Jim Webb: Why Reagan Dems Still Matter
RealClearPolitics ^ | November 8, 2010 | David Paul Kuhn

Posted on 11/08/2010 5:01:40 PM PST by neverdem

Jim Webb went to the White House last September. The Virginia senator was meeting with the president to discuss Guantanamo detainees. The conversation soon shifted to healthcare. "I told him this was going to be a disaster," Webb recalls...

--snip--

This independent problem returns Democrats to their white problem. Most non-aligned voters are white. White males constitute the plurality of independents. These are the Reagan Democrats. Webb does not see himself as their spokesman. But he is one of the few Democrats able to speak as one of them.

We must keep these independents, IMHO. "These are the Reagan Democrats." Maybe not all, but neither do they sound like moderates. These Reagan Democrats are prolife, bitter clingers, and they're proud of it.

Webb is an Obama worshipper and one guy I would love to see get beat before I leave Gaia.

Jim Webb... this is a guy in trouble in VA and I wouldn’t be surprised if he walks away over the next two years. He’s got a re-election coming up to think about.

We don't want Jim Webb. He is a liar. He voted for Obamacare wholeheartedly because that is what his party told him to do even though it went against the wishes of Virginia. He certainly didn't think it was going to be a disaster when he cast that vote! He has done nothing for the Commonwealth of Virginia except kick us Virginians in the teeth.

"Independents" like Webb can go fly a kite for all we care. He will not be respresenting Virgina after 2012.

Jim Webb is a piece of garbage. Hopefully he is tossed to the trash with other Dem SCUM like Bill Nelson in 2012.

“I told him this was going to be a disaster,” Webb recalls...

WTF, Webb voted for 0bamacare. What are the chances of George Allen running against Webb in 2012 and getting his old seat back?

Dim Webb is gone in 2012.

The article amounts sychophantic sophistry. Perhaps Webb paid for such a loving profile?

At any rate, Webb can see the long shadows of 2012. He's moving to the center, Obama notwithstanding.

"I told him this was going to be a disaster," Webb recalls...

And yet he voted for that steaming pile of crap. And we're supposed to think he has our best interests at heart? What a POS.

An adage of polling is that once you lose independents, they don’t come back.

Obama has lost the independents, and I suspect they’re going to stay gone.

Didn’t this filthy weasel personally attack Bush for no reason?

November 29, 2006
Wednesday’s Washington Post reported that at a White House reception for newly elected members of Congress, Webb ``tried to avoid President Bush,’’ refusing to pass through the reception line or have his picture taken with the president. When Bush asked Webb, whose son is a Marine in Iraq, ``How’s your boy?’’ Webb replied, ``I’d like to get them (sic) out of Iraq.’’ When the president again asked, ``How’s your boy?’’ Webb replied, ``That’s between me and my boy.’’ Webb told the Post:
`I’m not particularly interested in having a picture of me and George W. Bush on my wall. No offense to the institution of the presidency, and I’m certainly looking forward to working with him and his administration. (But) leaders do some symbolic things to try to convey who they are and what the message is.’’

A disaster you had the power to save us from, but chose not to. Stuff it.

ROTFL, you are such toast.

Virginia 2012 is almost here and hark, the campaign coffers are ringing, but for your opponent whomever he/she is.

Nye, check.
Webb,
Warner,

First thing I wondered was how much he paid for this article....lol

2nd thing I wondered.........was this article written as a preamble or pretext for a run against Obama in 2012 ? or an attempt at becoming a power broker in the party ?

I wouldn't be shocked or even mildly surprised, if he decided to take the leap in 2012 and run for the nomination of the rat party......if he is going to lose any chance at re-election in Virginia, why not go out with a national bang ?

He has the ego.......

I hope the Morris and Rove types are able to devote resources very soon to keeping vulnerable 2012 dims on the run over the next two years.

When was that exactly- before you voted for health care or after?

If Webb fancies himself a conservative, or even a moderate, why the bleep does he align himself with the liberal idiots?

There is no such thing as “Reagan Democrats” just as there is no such thing as “Blue Dog Democrats” or “Pro-Life Democrats”. If anything should tell you this it should be the last two years when the Democrats have voted for this socialist agenda. Webb (and Warner) are running scared because they have seen their “purple” state turn virtually red. They will say anything. Note he is opened to “improving” Obamacare-but not repealing it.

Don’t fall for the lies.
