But I thought that if Obama was elected, the Muzzies would love us. If he bowed low enough to the various Islamic leaders, and alienated one of our best allies (Israel, although Jughead has managed to insult almost all of them) - that the Muzzie pigs would cease their terroristic ways.

It seems the cargo planes would not be the real target though. If they wanted to disrupt business they would be disrupting whatever company is shipping ‘out’ Yemen and that’s sort of like they would be attacking themselves. They must be intending to do it on passenger planes. Don’t yall think so?

No, I don't know for certain what this is or what the Islamic Terrorists really have in mind.
But, they are at war with us whether we accept it or not. One thing that is useful in a war is intelligence on your enemies strengths, weaknesses and how they will respond. They may be crazy but they are not all stupid.
A false attack like this gains them many useful pieces of information. What we know about them, how, when and where we will respond and most important of all, who among them are traitors, spies or leaks. And, accomplishes this with little loss of materials or resources.
I hope I am wrong but I believe their target and timing is not our elections. It is the coming Christmas holiday. This was just a test to measure our response and maximize their results next time while also cleaning up "loose ends" in their organization.
Then again, maybe it is just an eleventh hour, political stunt of desperation from a certain political party.
One thing I have gathered is that the islamic groups have been getting schooled in strategy. They realize there are much “softer” targets in the US and on our supply line.

They sure have a funny way of calculating politics over there at the White House.
Sure, this may be an October Surprise and giant hand-waving exercise to distract from exceedingly low Democrat expectations next week. But in the end, my polling and demographics indicate that anything related to national security *additional failures* and yet another set of “dodged bullets” redounds to the opposition, meaning us. It will put into stark relief how good we had it under Bush wherein we hardly ever saw public activity about terrorism (until declassified years later, and never around an election), whether reporting on failed attempts or roundups or silly ideas about where to have a trial. Our energized right wing may also do what we all have done here: called BS on the timing and see it as a highly cynical ploy or failure; not that helpful nationally in either case.
What I found most funny listening to the President give the TOTUS’ banal blather about “always being vigilant against all forms of extremism” (typically and explicitly excepting Muslim extremism) is that not 48 hours ago, he was “always being vigilant” by being laughed off Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz’ sound stage. haha
Lastly, would somebody please cue for me the history of John O. Brennan? I seem to have a mental segment of lost time. My poor brain tells me that this no-talent assclown and Obama apologist did seppuku sometime after the failed Christmas bombing last year and left the Regime. Yet here he is again up on the dais, briefing us on how he and crew failed to protect us yet again. WTF? Wasn’t he gone gone gone? So was he resurrected a la Van Jones, simply sliding over into another role that is, um, very much like his old role but just a different title?
