I just emailed my reps- AGAIN- about de-funding NPR. It is SO past time to let them sink or swim on their own.

"Palin acknowledged Williams’ past criticism of her, but asserted her devotion to free speech and the need for open and honest debate."

While I agree with defunding NPR, technically this is not a free speech issue. The right to free speech does not guarantee one the right to have a venue for one's speech provided any more the the right to bear arms entitles one to have the government provide us with arms.

If she want’s to squabble because Juan Williams was hard on her

"Wants" shouldn't have an apostrophe here.

Characterizing Sarah's statement as "squabbling" is incredible hyperbole.

She needs to drop the victim role.

Construing her statement as assuming the "victim role" is the kind of stretch a Palin opponent might make in an attempt to ratchet up negative opinion.

It's time to lead a nation.

It's time to elect Republicans and defund the Federal Government. Starting with NPR. Sarah has it right on both counts.

‘why should taxpayers have to support such a biased news organization that obviously censors opinions. Screw NPR.’

Right. The gubmint schools have forbidden Christmas so why should we allow the gubmint NPR to promote their version of the socialist god? I say let ‘em fend for themselves...

I love the suggestion above that this is a great place to start cutting! Yes - hack this first.

We sure do give them a lot of money, and I am not sure at all that it is worth it.

We gave them a lot of the money those crummy bastards at the IRS extort from us under threat of imprisonment.

That's one thing that is going to "change" or the conservative movement and Tea Party will be proven useless.

DEFUND THE LEFT

Zero tolerance for marxists in US government.

Investigate and arrest members of the "Progressive Congressional Caucus", send those red sons of bitches back underground.

Via Executive Order, declare all States "right to work states", no more forced compulsory union dues in order to work.

Defund the marxist trade and government worker unions.

No one will pay union dues voluntarily.

Smash the left!

Yep, with jusy a couple of sentences she puts it al in perspective and at the same time shows the Marxists up for who they are. There is no other Tea Party, conservative or GOP candidate who does it as well.

For those of you who continue to labor under the illusion that she is somehow intellectually lite, take that. Not only does she express herself effectively, she also is taking the fight to ther left. Who else is out there doing it more effectively than Palin? Please provide specific names and examples of their intellect and fighting spirit.

We can do alot by having a voice that is listened to and rally around them. We are in this mess because of the spineless GOP (deliberately spineless) - more concerned about their political life and not being scorned than America/The Constitution/the citizens.

Perhaps not the firing itself, but their obvious bias and disregard for Our Constitution.

Only the weak-minded listen to NPR these days. Anyone with a brain can’t take more than 5 minutes of the drivel that comes out of it. I would love to the National Propaganda Radio defunded. I would love to see NPR go the way of Air
America.

I wish she would have announced this before Huckster.

Well, Sarah doesn't play the "me too" game. I'm sure she's much too busy to pay attention to who else is saying what. That's Mitt's gig.

I'm sure that Sarah responded to this outrage just as soon as she heard about it.

“Are we not allowed to say that Muslim terrorists have killed thousands of Americans and continue to plot the deaths of thousands more? Are we not allowed to say that there are Muslim states that aid and abet these fanatics? Are we not allowed to even debate the role that radical Islam plays in inciting this violence?”

Sarah Palin. Going where few politicians will.

I like Sarah Palin more and more.

The citizenry should demand that tax dollars STOP being used to fund National Propaganda Radio AND Propaganda Broadcasting Service.

Either that or tax money should start to flow to conservative talk radio hosts (Rush, Mark Levin, Gleen Beck, etc.).

This is the second time Palin has come to the defense of people who have been VERY unkind to her. First, Dr. Laura. Now, Juan Williams.

And to the deadbeat who said Palin shouldn’t play the victim?

To my knowledge, this is the first time she’s made even an oblique reference to the fact that Juan called her “a centerfold for right-wing conservative men.”

So.

It’s a victim to not be pleased for someone to call you that on national TV?

The way you stop bullies is by standing up to them.

Juan’s having his own taste of bullies now from NPR.

I hope he sues them for wrongful dismissal.

It sounds to me like he’s got a clear-cut case.

And the GOP can use the ensuing publicity to get NPR, PBS, the NEA defunded.

Like the brouhaha over ACORN got it defunded.

Thanks. So far, no one has stepped up to the plate with an alternative. It’s always interesting to me how a request for specifics makes loud mouthed generalists mute.
