I don’t hink Levin is jealous. I think Levin takes meaningful and substantial difference with Beck as a guy who audaciously titled his book Common Sense, as if he is some sort of peer (or intellectual descendant-) of Thomas Paine.

Beck also mixes religious activism into his politics and a lot of emotionalism in a way that can be legitimately questioned and that paleocons might not be comfortable with.

I’m not opposed to Beck but I appreciate the problems Levin has with Beck’s approach to things. There are tactics, message and belief disparities separating a guy like Beck, who comes out of the vapor, from a guy like Levin who dates all the way back to the Reagan write-in campaign of 76. Such “disputes” are legitimate. I happen to think there is a place for both but for us oldsters Beck is a lot like kale—an acquired taste and some might never acquire it.

And, frankly, Beck’s intense emotionalism makes him a little bit untrustworthy—we’ve seen people of his personality type renounce conservatism and jump to the Left in the past.

Gregory is now trying to smear the Tea Party movement and link Buck to it. This program is all about smearing the Tea Party movment and so called Tea Party candidates like Buck, Angle, and Rand Paul.

Secretaries of State are yet another huge problem since Soros figured out a few years ago that with less than a million bucks he could buy and bunch of them and he did.

Fraud could be huge, I hope our side is on top of it.

Fox is just MSM. They only claim otherwise. Their radio news is just as Democrat smooching as the rest. I turn it off as fast as ABC when listening to talk radio.

The problem is that entitlements plus the debt servicing costs on the national debt are more than 50% of the budget.

Understood, and there is an answer to that issue, which could be given after backing down a snarky adversarial moderator (like Wallace) with the endless list of holes in the federal budget bucket.

I don’t see how the new owner Comcast can keep this up with NBC—which really oughta just move their HQ into the White House while Obama is the occupant. I tried to watch it today but it is unwatchable. In the first 15 seconds Gibbs blamed it all on Bush and I was outta there. You mighta been the last person watching. Ever.

What’s that rule of thumb in a ‘wave election’, that 70% go to the gaining party? 70% of 90 would of course be 63 seats.

This MTP “debate” is a two on one affair. Gregory is just repeating Dem accusations against Buck, then questioning his answers. Then Gregory asks Bennett if he agrees with the charges. This is absurd, almost Kafkaesque political theater.

Meaghannnn McCain is a perfect pawn for the DBM.

They can use what is supposed to be one of us to talk trash about the tea party and everything of what a 27 years old does not understand and is ready to run her mouth about. christiannnnn I'm so poor got her to say how "extreme" we are and how only the more moderate voices will wind up being heard. Meghann is a true pawn/village idiot. It's easy to tell that her fathers rino ways are instilled in her as well, stupidity will do that.

Yeah I know. That's yet another story about this election. We need a Rush Limbaugh to teach each and every one of these candidates how to campaign conservative style can't believe the way some of them come off.

Our side has along way to go,we need a lot of polishing.

Claire -
we have passed tax cut after tax cut, many of those over Republican objections.

I guess I missed hearing about those and/or seeing extra $s on my paycheck.

She also said something to the effect of there are no centrists in the Republican party anymore. Whoa! There are far more centrists in the Pubbie party than there are in the Dim party, which has practically 0.

Chris is asking Senator Cornyn, where’s the compromise. Chrissy - how about asking Clara Belle and other Dims that.

Problem w/your calculation is nobody really knows how many are in play. When you have 3 Oregon seats that very well may switch, there is no way to guess how many are truly in play. These polls are worthless right now since there is no way to judge the intensity of the Tea Party. The number may be 150-200 are w/in the margins.

I never said Bennett was desperate. Buck is now screwing up when asked how the Reps intend to pay for extending the Bush tax cuts accepting the premise that the federal budget pie is fixed. We had two tax cuts under JFK and Reagan that increased revenue. When the capital gains tax was reduced revenue went up. Why couldn't Buck have responded that way instead of saying we must cut spending to make up for the tax cuts?

On balance, Buck is getting his clock cleaned, not by Bennett, but by Gregory.

Someone up thread was talking about Clara Belle the Clown (apologies to clowns everywhere) mentioning that Republicans were going against Angle in Nevada and supporting Harry. I supose they found a couple somewhere just like they did in DE. She used moderate and the Dim party in the same sentence - it does not compute.

BTW - she sure does blink alot. I know it’s not from contacts as she has glasses on. IIRC blinking is usually a sign of lying.

“Now Wallace is pressing Fiorina about where she is going to cut to make up the $4 trillion that extending the tax cuts to the rich will entail. She should have challenged the premise. Tax cuts increase revenue.”

You're right - that should have been a no-brainer for her. The evidence is clear and unmistakeable. Ms. Fiorina should have been more on top of her game.

I rarely if ever see the lefties get pressed like this. Does Wallace do this on his own or is someone else pulling the strings?

You gotta be kidding!

Glen Beck is the greatest thing to hit the conservative movement since Rush. Yet he is no where as Conservative as we are here or as Rush is.

This guy has inspired millions, has shown the light of how zero is a true Marxist, explained in detail every move the administration makes who the tsars are, why they are there, and backs it all up, what he has planned for us, how he ignores the founders,/constitution and on and on and on.

Without Glen Beck we would be missing a huge shot of invigoration for the conservative movement.

How many people do you know other than maybe Sarah who can get over a half a million people to join him in a rally at the capitol to celebrate "anything" at all?

We are lucky to have Glen Beck on our side.

MYTH: The Bush tax cuts caused the deficit. FACT: In 2002, tax revenues were $1.85 trillion. In 2007, revenues were $2.57 trillion — a 39 percent INCREASE. MYTH: The rich don’t pay taxes. FACT: The top 1% of income earners pay 40% of all federal income taxes. The top 5% pay 60%. Everyone in the $200,000 plus tax bracket pays MORE than one fourth of their adjusted gross income in federal taxes. They almost certainly also coughed up a great deal in state and local taxes as well.

“Meghan McCain is an absolute joke.”

That's for sure. She said that with Tea Party activists, the Republicans have lost much of the youth vote and are losing more every day. Of course, when the youth grow up and realize that jobs are not there, when they do get a job taxes take a big chunk of their money and when they realize that their current carefree lifestyle is crimped by more restrictions about the type of cars they can buy, the type of lifestyle they are used to, all but the most brainwashed will change their minds.

Pubbie candidates need to get their facts and talking points down to that question of how are you going to come up with the $xxx to pay for the tax custs as they’re always asked it. The other question they always ask - how are you going to pay for entitlements - what are you going to cut.

Chris is badgering Carly, but I think she’s holding her own.

Bet he wouldn’t have done that to Boxer, if she would have had the cojones to come on.
