How corporate interests and Republican insiders built the Tea Party monster (major puke alert)
Rolling Stone ^ | Matt Taibbi

Posted on 10/13/2010 12:14:36 PM PDT by Beave Meister

It's taken three trips to Kentucky, but I'm finally getting my Tea Party epiphany exactly where you'd expect: at a Sarah Palin rally. The red-hot mama of American exceptionalism has flown in to speak at something called the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, a gospel-music hoedown in a giant convention center filled with thousands of elderly white Southerners. Palin — who earlier this morning held a closed-door fundraiser for Rand Paul, the Tea Party champion running for the U.S. Senate — is railing against a GOP establishment that has just seen Tea Partiers oust entrenched Republican hacks in Delaware and New York. The dingbat revolution, it seems, is nigh.

Yes. Rolling Stone is right. The Tea Party is made up entirely of dumb mouth-breathing racists. They are really no threat because they are all morons from trailer parks. Pay no heed to them.......... rest easy. You are safe and the Democrats will win BIG from the surge. No worries. You won’t even need to vote because the Tea Parties are so inconsequential.........

The great thing about the timing and duration of the TP movement as it has grown so far is that at this juncture, I honestly feel no insult when folks talk a line of complete nonsense crap about the TP. I feel no need to correct them via argument. I feel no need to defend the TP. I’m not going to be changing their opinion.

These stories about the TP and how they were created by corporations are of course massively beyond stupid. They’re so far beyond stupid they can’t even catch a bus back to stupid. But y’know what? Let ‘em think whatever the heck they want. If people think this kind of tall tale is convincing, they’re beyond any form of logical reasoning.

That’s just a laugh. Not even worth being irritated about. It’s actually a great thing that the libs are fence post stupid about the TEA Parties.

If the Left is against Rand Paul and they call him crazy.....it’s rock solid proof that he is the one we should elect!

*That average Americans can think and organize themselves and come together in a true grassroots rebellion against the socialist takeover of America is completely foreign to the liberal mindset.*

The concept of thinking for themselves is a foreign to them as if they were trying to understand dolphin language....

This stuff is always good for a laugh, coming — as it does — from Soros monkeys.

*Why does this ‘magazine’ exist?*

Very near the time when the last hippie from the 1960’s dies, this irrelevant rag will die with him.

There we have it. The Brave New World.

Protesting irresponsible spending and the arrogance of limitless taxation is "creating a monster."

"Matt Taibbi" +"gay" => 47,500 hits on Google

Most promising hit, for elucidating Taibbi's take on the Tea Party: "May 28, 2008 ... 15 comments to Matt Taibbi goes undercover with the Christian Right. ... "

Did I not just say that “MSM” means “Main Stream Media”* and “Men who have Sex with Men” (but I repeat myself....).

*I call it “Mid Stream Media” as when you’re at the doctor’s office and they give you a little cup to fill...

Sample quote from his 2008 article linked in my last, about a weekend retreat with some of John Hagee's congregants:

By the end of the weekend I realized how quaint was the mere suggestion that Christians of this type should learn to “be rational” or “set aside your religion” about such things as the Iraq War or other policy matters. Once you’ve made a journey like this — once you’ve gone this far — you are beyond suggestible. It’s not merely the informational indoctrination, the constant belittling of homosexuals and atheists and Muslims and pacifists, etc., that’s the issue. It’s that once you’ve gotten to this place, you’ve left behind the mental process that a person would need to form an independent opinion about such things. You make this journey precisely to experience the ecstasy of beating to the same big gristly heart with a roomful of like-minded folks. Once you reach that place with them, you’re thinking with muscles, not neurons.

What a sweetie. No, he doesn't have any issues with believing Christians.

Notice the strawman: That elderly people are hypocrites because they're on Medicare scooters and living on Social Security.

No Tea Party candidate or member has called for the abolishment of SS & Medicare (and most other entitlement programs). We have always said that those who are on these programs should be assisted, while younger people should be exempt or allowed to opt out of them.

Also, the notion that corporate backers or Republican elites are controlling the Tea Party movement is pure projection and it's blatantly false. How many RINOs got ousted in the primaries? Why is someone like Dick Armey hated because he supports amnesty but is trying to exploit the movement? How come the GOP overall is having trouble raising money while individual candidates are hauling in record cash? Rolling Stone is a pathetic, leftist joke.
