In the past you’d have run a liberal rather then even assuming a conservative could stand a chance here.

Could you name some of the liberal candidates the establishment has nominated for Senate in Wisconsin over the last few years? The only "moderate" nominated that I know of was Susan Engeleiter in 1988, and she beat the establishment (state GOP chairman) to get the nomination.

Nobody thought we’d beat Daschle in ‘04

By nobody, do you mean a lot of people?

I thank god for Barack Obama, because of him the cathartic cleansing of the Republican party can continue, and the decline of the Democrat party can begin.

Now if we can just find out that Obama’s a Kenyan and unratify every bill he every laid a pen to.

And, Todd Young in Indiana http://www.toddyoungforcongress.com/

to take out Baron Hill the “Blue Dog” Dem who supports cap and trade and voted for health care. Made an a$$ of himself at a town hall featuring health care.

3.5 to 1 Republican primary turnout advantage.

Gop nom for governor, Scott Walker has a very established and effective ground game and dominates in Southeastern Wisconsin. He won the primary 90-10 in some counties down here.

Johnson is an Oshkosh guy, a political outsider, running against the Madison-Milwaukee guy, Russ Feingold. That plays extremely well out-state.

This has the workings of an absolute slaughter at the polls if the campaigns keep their focus and keep punching.

Feingold ran the same campaign 18 years ago when he was the young upstart. Now he’s lost this way and become the very thing he once campaigned against. A mud-slinging out-of-touch insider.

Barrett’s campaign is being run entirely by out-of-state DNC and Obama administration staffers.

The Milwaukee city hall people have not been told anything and local party people have been left out in the cold. This is Obama’s campaign for WI Governor.

Barrett will lose the next mayoral election - he is alienating the local base and they will leave him once he’s defeated in the November election. Career over.

Feingold election volunteers in Milwaukee were deflated a month ago. His campaign is rapidly losing momentum.

This could be good or bad, his replacement could be a Lee Holloway type or worse. Milwaukee is already in the toilet, but this would be the final flush..... On the other hand, dare one hope the door could be open for a Mayor David Clarke?

~Obama stands on the balcony of the WH and wrinkles his nose~ Looking at Rahm, he asks: "What IS that smell coming out of Wisconsin? Rahm: "It's Wisconsin sir. Our guys musta cut the cheese."

I’m sure Ras is going to be buried in work for the next 6 weeks updating polls constantly. Wonder if he needs part-time workers?
