Jews reluctantly abandon Swedish city amid growing anti-Semitism

MALMO, SWEDEN — At some point, the shouts of “Heil Hitler” that often greeted Marcus Eilenberg as he walked to the 107-year-old Moorish-style synagogue in this port city forced the 32-year-old attorney to make a difficult, life-changing decision: Fearing for his family’s safety after repeated anti-Semitic incidents, Eilenberg reluctantly uprooted himself and his wife and two children, and moved to Israel in May.

Sweden, a country long regarded as a model of tolerance, has, ironically, been a refuge for Eilenberg’s family. His paternal grandparents found a home in Malmo in 1945 after surviving the Holocaust. His wife’s parents came to Malmo from Poland in 1968 after the communist government there launched an anti-Semitic purge

But as in many other cities across Europe, a rapidly growing Muslim population living in segregated conditions that seem to breed alienation has mixed toxically with the anger directed at Israeli policies and actions by those Muslims — and by many non-Muslims — to all but transform the lives of local Jews. Like many of their counterparts in other European cities, the Jews of Malmo report being subjected increasingly to threats, intimidation and actual violence as stand-ins for Israel.

While it is true that, admittedly and tragically, 78% of American Jews voted for B. Hussein Obama in November 2008, there is a tectonic shift taking place in American Jewry right now. Several recent polls have consistently shown this. For example, a recent Quinnipiac poll taken amongst US citizens asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling the situation between Israel and the Palestinians?” 67 percent of US Jews disapproved and 28 percent approved.

It appears very likely that there is going to be a significant defeat suffered in the November elections by the “democrats,” aka Hussein’s enablers, and Jewish votes (and campaign support funds) are going to play a large part in this defeat. Hopefully, those US voters, Jews or Gentiles, who were led astray by media lies in November 2008 will see the light in November 2012 and vote Obotulism out of office.

The claim that Hitler was 1/4 Jewish is a false claim, according to professional historians. It is possible to cite scholarly sources to disprove this false claim, but since Free Republic is an (excellent, but) informal forum, I will here cite a passage from the "Hitler" entry in Wikipedia, which, although not itself a scholarly article, cites (some of) the voluminous, formal, scholarly hitorical research literature in which the false claim is completely rebutted: "No evidence has ever been produced to support Frank's claim, and Frank himself said Hitler's full Aryan blood was obvious.[9] Frank's claims were widely believed in the 1950s, but by the 1990s, were generally doubted by historians.[10][11] Ian Kershaw dismisses the Frankenberger story as a "smear" by Hitler's enemies, noting that all Jews had been expelled from Graz in the 15th century and were not allowed to return until well after Alois was born.[11]" (Cited References [9], [10] and [11] are provided at the bottom of thte Wikipedia article. I hope your expectation/prediction is incorrect, but I can't prove that I am correct. I cited a poll (one of several of which I am aware) that, to me, suggests that there is a change occurring. A number of authors in the Jewish press in the US, as well as in the Israeli press, have written articles expressing the same opinion. Your opinion certainly may turn out to be correct, but, again, I hope not.

Actually, the historical data show that, across all presidential elections, only FDR and LBJ received 90% of the Jewish vote. JFK, Humphrey and Clinton each broke 80%, and all other dem presidential candidates received smaller (but still typically large) percentages. However, in 1980 Carter got only 45% of the Jewish vote - I am hoping that Obozo will receive no more than this percentage in 2012. We will see.

Historically, in the West, persecution of the Jews has come largely from a religious origin, particularly the "official" state churches of Europ That is why so many Amer, and consequently have the habit of believing that safety lies in secularism. Unfortunately, the Jewish people have been less than astute about who their enemies are. They are about 100 years behind the times, and fail to recognize the fact that the religious right today has very little in common, philosophically, theologically, or culturally, with the religious powers of past centuries.

Meanwhile, the ideological left, which is incompatible with monotheism, cannot abide Judaism, the parent of monotheisms.
