diesel would be around 10 buck a gallon so that 2 dollar loaf of bead will now be 10 bucks.

I believe it is possible to make a vehicle that generates it’s own engergy. No fuel no plugging into the outlet.

That would be called walking, but you still need to eat don't you?

So what does global-warming legislation have to do with the oil spill? Good question, because such measures wouldn't do a thing to clean up the oil or fix the problems that led to the leak.

Hahaha! I’m only the second owner and I’ve had it since late 2004. Interior is kinda rough, but she runs. Still only has 147,000 miles on it. For a diesel, that’s nothin’!

I know a lady that got T-boned in a de Ville like that. Police and paramedics said that car saved her life in that situation.

She didn't even miss a day of work.

Not only are many of us already doing that, what is the cost of gas or electricity to can or even to dehydrate?

I only dehydrate and I see it on the electric bill every Fall.

We need electricity and propane for our businesses. We are using 1/3 less than we were 3 years ago and paying the same amount. Last month, we used $89 of electric power and the bill, with facility fees, taxes, donation to the electric bills of the poor, we paid was $129. The less propane I use, the higher the amount I am charged. When I do negotiate a cut by taking the company up on their promise to meet anyone’s price, suddenly, my budget payment amount increases.

We get 36mpg and my husband drives 45 miles one way 3x week in order to make enough money to live and pay insurance and property taxes. The Focus is paid off in 10 months and we will drive it into the ground before replacing it. It will take us 2-3 years to save enough for a down payment on a new car, anyway, because everything has gone up and we cannot raise our prices as much.

This needs to end. Everyone was ok with cutting back _some_. They sold it by promising lower bills. Then, they raise the rates and add on more fees and taxes. We don’t pay enough taxes to use all the deductions we already have, let alone be seduced by tax credits. We are too old and lack the capital to retrofit our 100-year-old house to some modern alternative, even if it would work or their would be a payback. In -30F winters, those alternatives don’t work, either.

They are just pushing, pushing, pushing.

The new EPA diesels have far more emissions claptrap than any gasser.

There's a reason they're barred from entering the U.S. They're not burdened by EPA standards.

You’re right, that is a CAR. They just don’t build them like that any more.

No, think about it. Stored energy is only needed upon start up. Then, you have a resource for an alternate energy and that is motion.

That's not true. The first law of thermodynamics says that energy is neither created nor destroyed. The motion of the car is work, and doing work requires using energy. You cannot do work and generate more energy from the same energy. Doing so would be creating more energy. In order to make a car run, you have to convert energy from some stored form into the motion of the car.

“The motion of the car is work, and doing work requires using energy.” Exactly! We agree.

A generator can feed the main power source from its motion at the same time. There will also be stored energy to smooth out the feed.

you will see

LOL You don’t know what you are talking about. You need to take some basic science courses or at least do some reading about the basics of science and engineering. When you come to understand basic laws of thermodynamics, you’ll be qualified to talk about these issues.
