Republican Dino Rossi finally made it official this morning, entering the U.S. Senate race for the seat held by three-term incumbent Sen. Patty Murray (D).
In a five-minute video posted to his web site, www.dinorossi.com, Rossi reaches out to voters upset with the direction the country is headed, citing rising unemployment, plummeting housing values, "wasteful" stimulus plans and "massive new debt as far as the eye can see."

If you like your health insurance, you can keep your health insurance. Thats what Barack Obama and the Democrats promised with ObamaCare, as well as a pledge that it would bend the cost curve downward. A new survey of 661 businesses conducted by benefits consultant Towers Watson shows that the backbone of health-insurance delivery employers dont believe the latter promise. As a result, it may be difficult for Obama and his allies to deliver on the former:

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- In August, Missouri will be the first of several states to ask its voters if they want to 'opt out' of federal health care reforms, and not be required to buy private medical insurance. Supporters of major insurers and drug companies wrote the ballot language.
Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, a Republican, is asking Missourians to join him in a federal lawsuit against health care reform. He says he will file the suit next month on behalf of individuals he says will have their constitutional rights violated by reform.

WASHINGTON (Reuters)Now that U.S. health care reform is becoming a reality, states are sorting out how they will pay for two of the plan's major components that will rest largely on their shoulders at the same time they are pulling out of a long economic downturn.
A study released on Wednesday uncovered one bright spot for paying for Medicaid, the health care plan for the poor administered by the states and paid for with matching funds from the federal government.
Rasmussen: MN voters want ObamaCare repealed, AZ-style immigration law passed

Minnesota voters have a reputation as slightly nutty left-wing populists, which the elections of Jesse Ventura and Al Franken did nothing to rebut. The latest survey from Rasmussen on the gubernatorial race and national issues may surprise, as Tom Emmer has a slight edge over all three Democratic contenders, but thats not really the most surprising part. Minnesotans also want an end to ObamaCare and the passage of an immigration-enforcement bill similar to Arizonas (via Eric Black):
With Independence Party candidate Tom Horner officially in the mix, Minnesotas gubernatorial race is a toss-up for now no matter which Democrat wins the partys August primary.
Lets make the Vets wait for care until they all die

This seems to be the philosophy of the Veterans Services (VA) administration. Just recently I interviewed Dick Phenniger vstnow.org, a leading, whistle blower, former vet and business man, who has investigated health care abuse to our veterans for many years at the hands of the VA. He shared enough violations and horrors with the VA against our troops that I couldnt help thinking about the dreaded IRS. In my view, both should be gutted and started again with an emphasis in common sense, real service and ethics. Oh
..but back to the bigger than life problem.
Uncertainty Over Medicare Pay Sets Doctors on Edge (Obamacare -- 21% pay cut)

The 21.3 percent cut will take effect June 1 unless Congress intervenes in the next few days. Recurring uncertainty over Medicare fees is making doctors take a hard look at their participation in a program considered a bedrock of middle-class retirement security.
Doubts about Medicare's stability can also create political problems for Democrats in the fall elections, since polls show seniors are worried about the impact of the remake on their own care.

AUSTIN Texas, which has joined a lawsuit to block the new federal health care law, stands to gain by far the most federal dollars from a rush by poor adults to enroll in Medicaid, a new study shows. Estimates that the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured released Wednesday say Texas would reap nearly $53 billion in federal match money, and possibly more, between 2014, when the adults must be enrolled, and 2019. "For a relatively small investment of state dollars, states could see huge returns with federal dollars covering the bulk of the bill," said Diane Rowland, executive vice president of the commission's parent, the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Cancer patient forced by judge to have surgery A cancer patient is to be forced to undergo life-saving treatment against her wishes after a landmark ruling by a judge.
Doctors will be allowed forcibly to sedate the 55-year-old woman in her home and take her to hospital for surgery. She could be forced to remain on a ward afterwards.
The case has sparked an intense ethical and legal debate. Experts questioned whether lawyers and doctors should be able to override the wishes of patients and whether force was ever justified in providing medical care.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma, May 26, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) Voters in Oklahoma will be given a chance in November to decide whether they want to reject the core of the recently-enacted national health care reform, which includes taxpayer-funded abortion and requires individuals to buy health insurance or pay a penalty, thanks to a legislative action that bypassed the objections of pro-abortion Democrat Gov. Brad Henry.
