Green Theme Denies Tories A Bigger Win

So David Cameron turned out to be no Maggie Thatcher after all. Seven months ago, the Tories were up 19 points in the polls. After the first debate a couple of weeks ago, that lead had dwindled to 2.

In the election last Thursday, they managed a 7-point plurality, but with 305 seats they are still 21 short of a majority. Even together, Labour and the Liberal Democrats themselves are still short of a majority, with 315 seats.

The political context for all this was similar to what America suffers today. The Brits had labored for years under a left-wing government that had trashed the nation's finances with runaway spending and explosive deficits, while burdening taxpayers and the economy with counterproductive taxes.

The economy continued to sputter weakly as a result. After 13 years in power, Labour seemed to have overstayed its welcome by the British people.

Britain openly embraced socialism 65 years ago, so it does not offer a precise analogy for America. But still, why did the Tories fail to take full advantage of this political opportunity? Why did they not win a smashing landslide?

The Tories had reinvented themselves as the new green party, assuring the nation they would rescue it from global warming, an outdated theme by the fall. They rightly campaigned on slashing spending and deficits. But they presented that with pledges to bring to their countrymen "austerity" and "sacrifice," which was consistent with their new green persona.

And if they had come out and told the truth, they would have a majority. But they are incapable of telling the truth. There is so much money to be made on the side. So much control to be exercised. He should have had Jim Inhofe as an advisor instead of Anita Dunn.

In these parlimentary elections we also seem to forget about local issues for while a national agenda is being debated, local issues are present.

The Tories didn’t as in well in Scotland as it did in other areas of the country. Lets not forget it was the Labour Party that brought more home rule to Scotland now if that had something to do with it we don’t know because that aspect of it wasn’t covered by the media we pay attention to.

Then there is Cameron himself who’s been described as not much of a spellbinder and of course their messed up massage.

This article is full of lies! Any political party that provides this much boost to hair volume in an organic tea tree oil shampoo conditioner HAS to be a great political party also!
