2012: Demint or Palin?
Vanity ^ | 4/20/2010 | FTJM

Given the obsession with the 2012 Presidential race and Palin's possible candidacy, who would you choose between Demint and Palin to be the GOP nominee for President at this point? If you'd like to see a ticket of both, specify which one you prefer for President and which one you prefer for Vice President.

This has nothing to do with Hunter. It has to do with DeMint. A used car salesman? The guy who damn near singlehandedly scuttled Obama and Chavez’ plans to have Honduras turn commie in our own hemisphere?

The guy who was one of the strongest critics in the country against TARP, while McCain/Palin were donning TARP cheerleader uniforms?

The guy who was the first major politician to endorse Marco Rubio over the NRSC’s butt boy Charlie Loafers? And the guy who is noticeably NOT endorsing Juan Amnesty?

The guy who is one of the rarist of species - a Senator that favor’s DEPORTING all the illegals here?

The guy who founded his own very successful research company prior to becoming a politician?

The guy consistently ranked as one of the top 3 or 4 most conservative members of congress?

That used car salesman?

Demint is not the answer. Our 2012 candidate hasn’t revealed him/herself yet.

It looks like some on this thread want an Obama 2nd Term

DeMint is a Romney supporter, Pence, and the other 3rd tier
people named are hardly known out side of their area.

They are not speaking out everyday or writing articles or op eds on the issues to get the message out to the public
as Sarah Palin is along with several speeches a week.

The others will never draw the crowds and get the voters
energized and to the polls the way Sarah Palin does.

Dude, there is no savior out there. It’s Demint, Hunter, Inhofe, King or a pack of RINOs.

He is one of them, dude. His stance on the CVR proves he has at least one special interest at heart. One that he’ll sacrifice support from people like me or any aviator. (most of whom are conservative)

That stance tells me he can afford to take some people for granted, something I am not allowing anymore.

No way Palin plays second fiddle again. And ask McCain how it felt to be overshadowed by a more charismatic (and conservative) VP selection.

There isn't a conservative out there who's ego could withstand having a more popular Palin on the ticket.

Palin/Bachmann

Palin/Pence

Palin/Hunter

Palin/West

Palin/Ryan

Palin/Ryan would rock.

Sarah already listed him first as a person she respects in congress.

Well I like him because he looks like a solid Conservative Republican. He's been at the forefront in suing the Feds over ObamaCare.

http://www.facebook.com/#!/TexansForAbbott?ref=ts

Also, part of his (and Rep. Ryan) appeal is that they are not retreads. None of the 2008 GOP candidates should run again. As I've posted on FR several times, the GOP needs to look at Lt. Governors, AG’s SOS’s, and US Rep's for presidential candidates. The ‘he's earned it’ mentality got us Bob Dole and John McCain, and both lost badly.

Ok, Ronald Reagan won on his third try, but he's a unique and special case that will never be replicated and he last won an election 26 years ago; the electorate has changed since then.

Rep. Ryan seems to have an excellent grasp of economic and social issues. AG Abbott seems to have an excellent grasp of legal and social issues. Together, they offer a great combo. Geographically, WI and TX are a sweet combo for the GOP nationally, as the GOP needs to pick off a couple Midwestern states, especially if IN, NC, VA and FL voters brain-fart again in 2012 like they did in 2008. Abbott being AG from TX should cement the South.

Having two new faces should be an advantage in 2012; at a minimum, there won't be a built in polarizing force with a newbie like there would be with other candidates, and that will be critical in getting elected and getting an agenda passed.

You and I now they will. They do seem to be very hard on conservative women. The msm does not like Palin’s upbringing (I think it’s just great) and that seems to stick with coasties, some suburbanites, Jews. DeMint will be portrayed as a Southern cracker that advocates succession.
I just can’t stand Romney especially after he said that he would not help repeal 0bamacare and the mandates.

Palin/Bachmann Palin/Pence Palin/Hunter Palin/West Palin/Ryan

With the addition of DeMint, you've just laid out my short list. Palin, DeMint, Ryan, Bachmann, Pence, in no particular order. These are the folks I'm watching.

For others who have said our candidate hasn't revealed himself yet, I say forget it. If he wasn't in the fight in 2009 and 2010, he needn't come knocking in 2011.
