America has just witnessed an unconscionable abuse of power. President Obama has betrayed his oath to the nation — rather than bringing us together, ushering in a new kind of politics, and rising above raw partisanship, he has succumbed to the lowest denominator of incumbent power: justifying the means by extolling the ends. He promised better; we deserved better.
He calls his accomplishment “historic” — in this he is correct, although not for the reason he intends. Rather, it is an historic usurpation of the legislative process — he unleashed the nuclear option, enlisted not a single Republican vote in either chamber, bribed reluctant members of his own party, paid-off his union backers, scapegoated insurers, and justified his act with patently fraudulent accounting. What Barack Obama has ushered into the American political landscape is not good for our country; in the words of an ancient maxim, “what starts twisted, ends twisted.”
His health-care bill is unhealthy for America. It raises taxes, slashes the more private side of Medicare, installs price controls, and puts a new federal bureaucracy in charge of health care. It will create a new entitlement even as the ones we already have are bankrupt. For these reasons and more, the act should be repealed. That campaign begins today.
There are very few who are willing to stand and call Obama, Pelosi, Reed, and the others the traitors and quislings that they are...and stand on the rooftops and warn the people about the consequences of continuing down this path.
Couldn’t agree with you more - this is one area where he might as well wear an H for hypocrite on his forhead while he talks about it.

I could have a little more respect for Mittens if he would denounce and regret that he signed healthcare for Massachusetts. However he rather defends it instead.....does Mitt live in a glass house?

I have heard him many times talk about Masscare in glowing terms - he is in a no win situation on this one. He has tried to take credit for it when it benefits him and at a time like this he balks at his opponenet for doing what he did in his own state as governor. He can’t have it both ways - it is one thing to learn from your mistakes but if you keep touting them like they aren’t mistakes have you really learned or are you just a hypocrite?

No kidding. I wouldn’t call a 219 / 212 vote split a mandate, or product of “masterful” manuevering.
Although it handed the D’s their unsavory victory, I’d be hard pressed to say 219-212 is a resounding, resolute victory.
We agree. You can spin politics, you can spin a vote in the House or Senate.
You can’t spin basic math, and its got to catch up eventually.
No denying most of what you stated, but he has admitted it was a mistake.
My primary concern is we will end up with another ‘default’ nominee, like McCain, if we start off two and a half years early, bashing everybody that dares to consider running. The way things are going, the only thing that can stop a GOP take back from the Dems over the next TWO election cycles...is ourselves. JMHO.

I agree with your opinion as well - I think that the dem political machine will push for us to have exactly that - the weakest default nominee possible. I hope a candidate pulls ahead of the pack right away so that there is not a huge battle between candidates in 2012.
...and we can still beat it through the senate forcing it back to the house, or through the parlimentarian kicking it out.
This fall, we need to change things enough to either turn it around, or at least hold it up completely until the 2012 cycle uhers in enough count to turn it over.
Romney has been campaigning all along...
