Nonsense. Freepers who question ALL politicians are the best Freepers there are.

Do we want another compromiser with the truth as President? People were just as gung ho to support George W Bush around here and look how that turned out. He ended up handing over ALL THREE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT to socialists! A true conservative would NOT have done that.

So are we going to put our blinders on again and refuse to acknowledge weaknesses in our candidates? I hope not. But if it’s true that most people do not learn from history I’m afraid Freepers here will end up making the same mistakes as last time.

My point is that if one wants to run for President, they’re going to need some backing from the party establishment. Your example is best suited for those running in Congressional races.

One thing that people may not have thought about is that Palin (along with Thompson and others) know many of these political players personally, so they know their true character. Imagine if we were discussing Mark Sanford five years ago and he was running against a RINO and someone we liked supported the RINO. It may have been because that someone knew that Sanford was a philandering SOB who would do just as much harm in the long run. Now, I’m not saying JD is in the least, but we don’t know all the motivations behind these endorsements.

Limbaugh’s so called defense of Palin only points out he is putting party over principle. That’s damning with faint praise.

I know. I see the PDS group, small but dogged, out every day and night, baying at the moon. I was glad Rush held forth on this. it is hard to say that both Palin and Rush Limbaugh are RINOs and have much credibility at all. (as I said earlier, they could accuse Reagan of being a RINO for picking Richard Schweiker as his Veep to try to win the nomination from Ford in 1976. This was, at the time, a very controversial move and was pretty nakedly political. Schweiker grew more conservative, but at the time he was a very liberal Republican with an ACU of 5%. That didn’t seem to damage Reagan in 1980, did it?

I disagree with practically everything you've said on this thread, but you have a lovely voice, deanna. ;)

My serious assessment of this...

Rush understands politics and so does Sarah
Rush doesn't think this is a make or break deal, nor do I
People who think Reagan was perfect are suffering from fuzzy memories
Anyone dumping support of Sarah over this is a flake
The only way Sarah can win the Presidency, should she decide to pursue it, is to run as a Republican. Third parties are pie-in-the-sky losers in the very real world of politics.

Rush's analysis - note analysis - of this situation was accurate.

And I'm donating to J.D. Hayworth today.

Rush liked Romney better than McCain, he never "pushed" him. I think he was just as frustrated at our lack of a good candidate as any. Like many of us, until Sarah was picked, he never supported McCain at all

Her support of McCain is a no brainer, as Rush explained, loyalty is a good thing, plus can you imagine the uproar from the media 24/7 if she didn't support him?

It's so silly for so many to be suddenly upset with her and call her a RINO for supporting the man who picked her as his VP candidate. Short sighted and petty.

While we've been arguing whether or not Palin is a RINO or NOT, ACORN has enrolled another 10,000 fraudulent voters!

I think what you’re really saying is: someone with principles, followed by a parenthetical . . as long as they agree with MY principles. And on that, you are free to either endorse or reject her decission. It’s about choices, to with which SP has made her own. And quite possibly not for the reasons you believe. Rush is absolutly correct on this, IMO.

McCain had harmed our nation and is a danger to America. Palin either honestly supports McCain and McCain's positions or she is playing politics, helping herself politically to the detriment of our nation. The “loyalty” argument doesn’t make sense either as she is placing loyalty to a leftist above love for country.

In any case, this is politics as usual with GOP candidates. And, another trip to the wilderness lead by RINOS.

Limbaugh is bright enough to realize that the higher principle is defeating the people who are destroying the country.

If you prefer the "principle of perfection" over the principle of preserving this great Republic, then perhaps you should adjust your priorities.

Nonsense yourself. She has said long ago that she was going to endorse McCain when JD was a twinkle in people's eyes. Now that JD is in the race, people are complaining about it.

This is an unnecessary sidebar that is distracting conservatives. How is Sarah's support of McCain going to influence YOU? She's not going to go change her mind on this. So what are we arguing for?

I’m not sure if I am remembering this correctly, but didn’t Sarah Palin say, at the time she endorsed Doug Hoffman in New York, that she would back the conservative over the Republican every time? I like Sarah, but I wish she would stand up for her true beliefs and NOT back McCain.

Video: McCain declines to endorse Palin for 2012posted at 1:59 pm on December 14, 2008 by Allahpundit

“It’s too early to be making endorsements when we don’t know who’s running or what the issues will be, but naturally she’s my preference going into it.”

See video at the link.

Why the reluctance to ENDORSE her? Playing coy is the same as NOT ENDORSING her.

We have GOT to get Hayworth in there. Hayworth will get in people’s faces. McCain will get in people’s faces too, but the difference is that Hayworth will get in the face of the enemy. I’d like to see someone pick a fistfight with Frankenstein. Hayworth might be the guy to do it.

Rush is always the voice of reason.

We know he probably despises McCain and so do I. McCain is shamelessly using Sarah after letting his staff and even wife and daughter criticize her.

Even if he knows he’s putting her in a spot, he’s still doing it.

No. Some posters show up on specific thread to bash specific people, for a purpose. many are closet Romney bots who try to throw stones at Palin but cannot come out for Mitt for fear of being zotted. Others are Paul devotees who love to tilt at windmills and follow the latest conspiracy.

Most of the rest of us, probably 85%, want to elect a Regan conservative to the Presidency in 2012, and most of the rest of us think that is Sarah Palin.

It’s nonsense to question all politicians?

Here, I have a glass of RINO Kool-aid for you to partake of. I don’t want it. LOL!
