Bill O'Reilly: The Tea Party and Extremism
Fox News ^ | February 17, 2010 | Bill O'Reilly

Posted on 02/17/2010 10:43:42 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Two weeks ago, I said this:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BILL O'REILLY: Some of these Tea Party people are nuts. They are. They're crazy. I mean, we sent Jesse Watters down there, and he puts the number at about 10 percent that are just loons, out of their mind. Every group has that.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

And that's true. No matter what group you're talking about, you'll find loons.

Enter The New York Times, which is finally taking the Tea Party seriously. In a front-page_article Tuesday, they put forth that Tea Party people are primarily extremists. They lump in the John Birch Society, the Patriot movement, Friends for Liberty and other groups that are on the fringe.

The Times also attempts to link Fox News to Tea Party extremists.

"Talking Points" predicted this would happen; that a movement with the potential power of the Tea Party would be attacked by the left-wing media. At first, The Times ignored the Tea Party. Now it's trying to diminish the brand.

But the Tea Party people themselves should be careful. Most Americans are not ideologues. They are just folks who want a fair system and a noble country. Every time a Tea Party person threatens to overthrow the government or other nonsense, the brand gets hammered.

That being said, the Tea Party movement is at a disadvantage. There's no central authority. Every Tea Party group is different. There's no party platform other than disenchantment with big government. With that kind of structure, you can expect chaos and some extremism, which the liberal media will use that to attack the Tea Party.

"Talking Points" has always admired sincere Americans who get involved in trying to improve their country, and that is what most Tea Party people do. They are regular folks who are fed up.(continued)

The media never gave ANY exposure to the antisemites, Marxists, Communists, Anarchists, terrorist sympathizers, etc among the so called “peace” and “antiwar” movements led by ANSWER and Code Pink and attended by elected Democrats.

The Extreme Makeover of Fox News: Analyst Marc Lamont Hill ["Black Liberation" revolutionary communist]
Accuracy In Media - AIM Column ^ | October 2, 2009 | Cliff Kincaid

Posted on Saturday, October 03, 2009 9:59:20 PM by ETL

Who would plaster his Twitter page with police mug shot photos of convicted cop-killer Assata Shakur? Fox News contributor Marc Lamont Hill did. At least until David Horowitz and Accuracy in Media took notice and wrote about it. Now the page features photos of boxing great Muhammad Ali. Hill's MySpace page is also gone.

There are other changes as well. The tributes to Shakur and black racist Khallid Muhammad, known as "America's Black Hitler," have disappeared from his web pages. The articles were saved, however, and can be found here.

I think this is co-ordinated. Two columnists for my local paper (Ed Dione and some Pitts guy) both had "Tea party people are nutty extremist" pieces last week. You could tell by what they wrote that they didn't have a smegging clue what they were talking about. Neither touched on Taxed Enough Already, and both used it as an opportunity to bash Palin. Pitts pulled out the race card, which was very odious. Took two days to get the smell out of my kitchen....

Larry King too.

He’s a midget mentality trapped in a pygmy imagination.

I saw this last night. O’Reilly is such an ass. He’s just grandstanding to look like he’s in the middle/ fair and balanced. He’s really over reaching to say the tea party people are nuts when they have the right to say Obama is a commie. The left protesters chanted for people to die. I’ve never seen that with the tea party people.

There are people around the world (in Spain, England, India, France, Poland, etc.) who are shocked to see America going Socialist and it is the media who pretends that only “teabaggers” (guffaw guffaw, smirk) are saying it or that it is somehow an unfounded assessment of Obama’s agenda.

Why is Van Jones gone? Was it is his message? Was it his agenda? Or was it that he was EXPOSED?

How many Reds need to be revealed on Team Obama before we “get the picture” about the man in charge?

BOR is just a stooge, and a putz to boot...

I stopped watching his farce of a show long ago, and if Beck keeps condescending to us much longer I won't watch his show either.

Shameful...

O’Reilly is an idiot, but he can be a useful idiot. With his ratings, he tends to influence what other media pay attention to, and face it, wihtout Fox covering the Tea Party from the beginning, it would not be the force it is today.

So ignore BORing comments, but be glad he and the others are helping to promote the movement, albeit for their own purposes.

O’Reilly didn’t say it was 10% nuts. He was saying that some reporter named Jesse Waters claims it’s 10%. And watching him last eve I don’t think he bought it. However, he is correct in an important part of his show: the NYT and other papers will use every single odd statement, side stream allegation, anything that can be construed as NUTS as the mainstream view of the Tea Party. Same as they always do.

I haven’t watched FOX in a while so hadn’t seen or heard of Hill. Where are these sick freaks coming from? FOX, indeed, has gone down into the cesspool.

I thought Rupert Murdoch fired Marc Lamont Hill.

I did too. But the 'Black Liberation'/revolutionary communist a-hole has been back on Fox for several weeks now. And NEVER does idiot, know-nothing O'Reilly, confront him on the stuff posted above.

Are you taking BOR out of context?? Dissecting his every word?

He said there are nuts on either side of the spectrum... Far left and far right. Most of the people in the Tea Party are somewhere between far right and centrists... The far far right wing folks are the ones preaching hate for all things they don’t believe in, just as the far left are the loons that call all Conservatives “the enemy”. (DU’er’s and “moveon.org people” come to mind here)

As someone who believes in the Constitution and Bill of Rights... would you want to sell our cause and change minds or become more divisive? I think BOR is a right leaning centrist who’d like to see some damn common sense solutions to all this crap. Same for Beck, same for Hannity etc...
I think the reason he’s so popular is because he is a right leaning centrist.

Every time a Tea Party person threatens to overthrow the government or other nonsense, the brand gets hammered.

Yeah, Samuel Adams and the other original Tea Partiers and Sons of Liberty... a bunch of "extremist loons" who threatened and eventually overthrew their oppressive government.

I'll take that brand, and any hammering that comes with it.
