“then leave - you’re doing no one a favor by suffering our company”

You leave...I don’t suffer, I make people who are liberals suffer...I like that about here.

“I hope the Republican powers that be in Illinois, choke!”

They did. Don’t you get it? Apart from Kirk, the Combine lost tonight. Seize the momentum, drive a stake through its heart. Get behind Brady and Plummer—they’re going to need defending against the charges that they are Taliban-Fundamentalists, Religious Right, knuckle-draggers. Get behind the seizure of the statewide apparatus by genuine Conservatives.

Get off your stupid Kirk-kick. Go look up Plummer’s record. Brady’s. Andrzejewski’s — he lost but he’s an up and coming strong Conservative.

Get behind these guys and help them remake the party from the bottom up instead of pissing into the wind against Kirk.

“You haven’t met me!
Cut me and I bleed Ronald Reagan and George Patton.”

My apologies, I misspoke...generalized too much. I was actually raised in Illinois also. Most of my oldest, best friends are from Illinois. Indeed, there are some good conservatives here. Not many, and not many within the Republican party as witnessed tonight. You sound like a very good conservative!

Correction, Topinka won—she’s a Combiner for sure. Still, we have a lot to be happy about, despite Kirk and Topinka.

Didn’t mean to imply that you’d vote for Kirk, sorry.

I am so damn elated that we got good conservatives to run for Governor, Lt.Governor and Comptroller if Jim Dodge wins.

But like the fisherman that comes back with a nice stringer full of Bass, I’m still disappointed about the “big one” that got away!

Run Patrick Run! 2010

I’d agree on a third party challege being useless.

If things continue as they are, several Republicans are going to win just because they aren’t Democrat’s. A protest vote won’t matter. It’s one of those time’s when a wave of public discontent makes everything else irrelevant to most voters.

Fighting this with a third party would just divert resources from good candidate elsewhere and for what? Not to win. At best the Demoacrt would win. I don’t care if the Democrat beats the Liberal Republican but I do care if a conservative is beaten because we were seeking vengence here. Conservatives should have gotten involved months ago. Most didn’t. Accept this as a valuable lesson and move on.

You must not be watching very closely. Dodge lost by a huge margin to Topinka.

We are holding some cards we cannot reveal just yet. We’ve got some thinking to do, based on the results tonight. There should be relevant news in the next two weeks.

As for the governor’s race, better Brady than McKenna or Dillard. I was rooting for Adam. Brady is still problematic in some respects. Nobody’s perfect.

“Getting off my stupid Kirk-kick”

But like Yogi Berra once said, “It ain’t over until it’s over!”

When we can wrest the grasp of the Illinois Republican Party from these git-along, go-along, demotard lite pukes.... then the fat-lady will have sung!;p

When I saw Kirk the jerk so far ahead I turned off the TV and radio I went back to cleaning my guns.

I don’t need a bunch of dumb-asse talking heads dissecting and spinning the results - remember If you’re from Shhecawgho you know what I mean.
I don’t get my news from the Lame Stream Media.

In Illinois, it takes 10 signatures to get on the primary ballot to run as committeeman for your precinct. This according to Doug Ibendahl, co-founder of Republican Young Professionals. But there are different rules for Cook County.

Last fall there were thousands of open slots for the Republicans. The terms are for 2 years. Further details @ Republican Renaissance Project.

I personally do not think that a third party can get the job done quick enough. But I do encourage those who want to, to do what they feel is best.

You do not start building a house at the top. You need a foundation. The committeeman is part of that foundation.

Accepted, how can a Conservative ever be angry at another conservative? Unless that other conservative happens to be my wife????

Hegwisch, accept the fact that there are a lot of Illinoisans that don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground. Ooops! shouldn’t say Illinoisans when I meant to say Shhhecawghoans. A century plus of Daley rule and they still haven’t learned.

I’m not listening to talking heads. The link simply goes to the Sun-Times straight reporting of the vote totals. You could even clean your guns and check in from time to time and then you’d know about the other races. For someone so concerned about the Illinois Combine and Mark Kirk, you are rather uninterested in the actual state of politics in the state as a whole. But suit yourself.

Unfortunately, it's a Senate race, not a congressional district. Kirk on many important issues seems a new Sununo or a Specter-in-progress.

Excuse me for missing the Judy Barr Topinka win, I’ll try to stay more interested.

You’re right on the mark. Only members of the Ostrich Brigade would be surprised by this result.

If conservatives were that organized, they would have not split the vote against Kirk. He got a majority, but this is more than strictly numbers...undecideds could take more comfort in choosing Rep. Kirk than catching a tiger by the toe.
