Well the Church is still togather!

So are the MUSLIMs; and MUCH longer, too!

Therefore they must be MORE RIGHT than MORMONS!!

but to those who study the scripture earnestly will be greatly reward to understand more than the Tradition of Men ever allowed.

The Tradition of Men program the elevator to only to go to certain floors of the mind.

But when one is contrite and sincere with the Lord the Holy Spirit one is able to receive more than any learned Tradition!

 - - - - - - -

Agreed. So why again are you following the traditions of men (the LDS church)?

The teachings of the LDS rely on the wisdom and logic of man, not God.  The LDS (false) gospel appeals to man’s search for order and reason, but God’s ways are not man’s ways.

1 Corinthinans 2:1-15

When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.

2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

3I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling.

4My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power,

5so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.

6We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

7No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.

8None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

9However, as it is written:

   "No eye has seen,

      no ear has heard,

   no mind has conceived

what God has prepared for those who love him"—

10but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.  The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

12We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.

13This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.

14The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:

you mean the mainstream have been fracture for 2000

- - - - -
No, the Body of Christ is still one.

Matthew 16:18:
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

THE GATES OF HELL, resty, would not prevail. Contrary to LDS teachings, there was no “great apostasy”, if there was, then CHRIST was a liar. Since Christ was sinless, then there was NEVER a need for a “restoration”.

Before you start complaining about “mainstream” divisions, look at your own.

The LDS church however, has had MANY fractures in it’s mere 180 years.

MORMON SPLINTER GROUPS- Sects that broke away from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Proponents of the Salt Lake City based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as LDS or Mormons) boast of the alleged “unity” of their 12 million membership. Pointing to multiple denominations of Christian churches, Mormons attribute their “unity” (i.e., uniform church structure and belief) to latter-day revelation and to additional books they regard as Scripture.
They challenge the potential convert to read and pray about the Book of Mormon in order to gain a “testimony” of the truthfulness of the book. This “testimony” (consisting of a “burning in the bosom” sensation) is alleged to be the main test for determining whether the potential convert should become a member of the LDS Church. Given the fact that over 100 splinter groups have developed on the foundation of the Prophet Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon, we question the validity of the Mormon “testimony” in solidifying the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the sole possessor of the “restored gospel.” Since all of these movements base their authority on the Book of Mormon and the Prophet Joseph Smith, how can a “testimony” gained through praying about the Book of Mormon be sufficient to prove which church of all of these movements one should join? The following list of dissident groups is taken from the book Divergent Paths of Restoration:

NL: That is every bit as absurd as the claims that Hitler killed because he was influenced by Darwin.

No, it's not, because there's nothing in the teachings of Christ that justify the wholesale slaughter of anyone.

That can be justified as survival of the fittest, *natural* selection, etc.

Not so!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint is the only one that Jesus Christ restored!

Jesus had the same problem when He was on earth there were many after His resurrected that formed splinter groups but there was only one that was annoited by the Lord and held the Priesthood!

However, what you did not relate is an important aspect. The referenced "hunting down" was a hypothetical, and the immediate response to that possibility was a resounding negative from all quarters. Many of those who post there did not "flee" as was suggested in an earlier post but instead were "cast out" from this forum.

The site that you would vilify is a staunch supporter of the right of people to speak freely in open discussion, and thereby to reveal the weaknesses of their arguments as well as what passes for their faith.

That's pretty interesting because just some time ago a FReeper who used to be a member of DC told how he left the site because or the behavior of the other DCers and his family's concerns for their safety. And he said it publicly on FR.

If one of your own feel that way, then I'd say that there is a legitimate concern.

Yeah, SO!

Christ is our ONLY HIGH PRIEST!! Read the book of Hebrews. Honestly. The Priesthood of Aaron, along with the accompanying animal sacrifices was annulled with death of Christ. The veil to the Holy of Holies was torn in two.

And the LDS keep trying to tack it back together.

All of the LDS splinter groups are documented Resty. No getting around that, no matter how hard you try. And the FLDS are much closer to what JS founded than SLC is.

So now, according to the Bible...

Matthew 16:18:
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

THE GATES OF HELL, resty, would not prevail over Christ’s church.

So that means either Jesus was a liar, or Joseph Smith was a liar.

I’m betting it was Smith.

Curious indeed. It would appear that even sites as apparently diametrically opposed as these two can have the same problems of disruptors, stalkers, and generally bed-mannered people.

"I'm a poet." (My conceit.)

A Walk With God

God and I were walking,
Along the endless sands,
Of the beaches of forever,
On my familiar span.

I had a million questions,
He had one answer, "Yes!"
Whatever's not a small reward,
Is just a simple test.

I try to walk here every day.
We watch the time and tide.
The rhythm of days is lulling,
Just I, and with Him beside.

I have no fear of fortune,
As We are walking here,
For peace and joy encompass me,
Because my God is near.

Jesus said that NOTHING, not even Hell would prevail against or destroy or conquer His Church...

I believe Him..

My Jesus never lost His Church...

The Church which is the body of Christ which I belong to is the same Church that Jesus founded in His blood on the cross 2000 years ago...

I belong with John and Peter and Paul and the others...

Whatever you think Joey Smith had was of his own making...

Mormonism has nothing to do with the Jesus of the Bible...
