Its one of the most secure places on earth, but two Washington area socialites and reality TV wannabes were apparently able to get behind the gates at the White House and mingle with the crowd at the State Dinner in honor of India last night.
The Washington Post has the dish on Tareq and Michaele Salahi, below:
The First Ladys office told ABC they would have no comment on the crashers and referred all inquiries to the Secret Service.
Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan confirms that the agency is looking into a report that two individuals not on the guest list were in the event.
They sure were. The Post has pictures from Michaele Salahis Facebook page that clearly show the two in pictures with attendees at the state dinner and there is video of the two on the red carpet inside the White House grounds.

Wonderful, just wonderful.
Oh gee Thanks a lot homeland security
Where are Balloon Boy's parents?
Political correctness allowed this to happen. The USSS wouldn’t push it on the Muzzie for fear of being branded as racists.
Facebook page
huh? What “muzzie”?
You think Tareq Salahi is Amish?
In what is the height of irony, the more you look like Islamic terrorists the less likely you are to be challenged at the White House.
Major Hasan probably could have led the color guard.
There’s no indication that anyone even checked his name. How could PC have played a role here if it’s unlikely anyone even knew he’s (possibly) Muslim?
Well hopefully this shook them all up enough that the next time security will be a bit tighter. With American’s so angry over being unemployed I’d hate to think that someone unbalanced enough would try to harm them if given the opportunity. I do not want to live though another 40 years of a martyred President like we still have to with JFK!
Several someones on the Secret Service have some serious ‘splainin’ to do about this one....
Heads are gonna roll...
Doe you honestly believe nobody asked for a name? And check out his photo from last night. He looked the part.
BTW, Obama claims to be a Christian. He and Reverend Wright say so.
These days, who cares? I think that today, right now, anyone and everyone should have absolutely free access to the President. / s
He did say his administration would be the most transparent ever...
1) If you can look at this picture, and immediately think, "he's a Muslim," then... well, I don't know what you're looking at...
2) If he's such a devout Muslim, how do you explain the Catholic wedding?
If Obama's such a devout Christian, how do you explain his utterances over the past several years, more specifically since he took office?
BTW, as a Catholic, I've known many non-Catholics who have married in the Church because it was the wish, and duty, of the Catholic party.
Has Obama hired NOI to run security?
Look at her chummy photo with the VP: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2806771&id=101907941877#/photo.php?pid=2806770&id=101907941877&fbid=183864396877

and his name is enough for me. Sorry, but I'm sick of the PC.
Were they wearing bow ties?
This may serve as pretext for doing so.
Joey Biden FTW!!
Rove, you magnificent bastard!
Michaele can't spell, for sure. Calls the guy "Ron" Emanuel.
Ditzy blonde?
India’s last few Prime Ministers have been “taken down” by some crazy people who “got into the inner perimeter”, so I would imagine they are rather sensitive about this breach when Manmohan Singh was there. I would imagine the Obama WH, being such dolts and amateurs on the international diplomacy and security scene as it is, will have either no excuse or will just laugh it off. I sense a SNL skit in the making.
Could be a Palestinian Christian. There are a few of those around. And some of them are in fact anti-Israeli. Who knows? The guy was born in the D.C. area apparantly. Not so sure about her.
When I was in college, I had a part time job in Century City, CA, and the night Ronald Reagan was elected, I walked down the steps of my building and told the first stranger I saw that night that we had a new President. He was also a young person and said, “Yeah, I’m going to go see him right now. Wanna come?”
We walked across the boulevard and went into the bowels of the Century Plaza Hotel, where, in front of the Grand Ballroom, security men were checking people’s tickets. My new companion saw that one needed tickets to go in, and got creative. We went over to the side a few feet, he took out a couple of pieces of notebook paper out of his backpack and folded them to look like tickets. He put these into his front pocket and we attempted to go in through the ballroom door, with him gesturing briefly to his “tickets” as we passed “security.”
We were very early for the election night party, so we moved to the front of the standing room only area, only a few feet from the stage, and were later able to see Ronald Reagan accept his win. We were just students carrying big, bulky backpacks filled with books, but I’d like to think they would not have let us through if we had been terrorists with bags full of explosives.
Such BS.
No one can just “crash” a party the Obamas set up.
There is something they’re not telling us.
For anyone to get into the White House these days, you have to be on a list. To get on the list you have to have someone who works on the inside of the White House complex clear you in with your social security number and date of birth. The secret service then runs a background check on you, puts you on the list, and you go through a heavy security process to even access the White House compound.
What obviously happened here was someone from inside the White House (friend? client? ambassador?) cleared them onto the list, and they snuck into the party probably pretending to have lost their invitations.
Now think of all the other goofballs that are going to try this to see if they can get away with it.
But their names were not on the list.
In a way, mortifying. In a way, hilarious.
Whoa! Cool, but all the same ...whoa!
I think they are going to be on a reality show Wives of DC or some such show like the ones from New Jersey, New York, Atlanta, etc. Means it was a set up by the network. They had to be on the list and approved by the Secret Service before they even got out of their cars or on to the grounds even if they came in with some network honco.
...um, because the Obamas keep the media on a really tight leash? Nothing gets out of this White House unless Obama wants it too - be it because of media love or media fear.
Besides - these guys are ARROGANT. Sure - they love playing “funny” jokes on people in other nations. But here at a party they set up? Doubtful.
That sounds very plausible.
Well it will be interesting. Salahi in those photos has on his left lapel (below) the crossed flags of the United States and India, but then above it is some other kind of pin. If that was a security access pin on him just for that event, then that would tell a very interesting story. Something stinks here, either way you look at it. The Japanese press infers that the Secret Service were being set up to take the blame over it.
You are right, it gives Zero a chance for his ‘private army’ that he wants to be funded as well as the military. You are a genius.

There's about 10 minutes of Saturday Night Live right there. Just have a succession of folks more obviously terrorist than the last, and the security gets laxer and laxer as they shuffle through. Show them beating up an elderly white woman in a wheelchair at the head of the line, first thing. The have Osama bin Laden and a donkey with a ton of explosives strapped to it just waltz through, yucking it up with the guards at the end of the skit.
"Whatcha got there, chief?" says a uniformed guard.
"Main course!" roars Osama as he passes through.
"Say howdy-do to the President! Ah-ha-ha!"
Looks like a Middle Eastern pattern on the Gummy Bore’s shroud, or whatever the hell that is......if she had to wear a hijab, maybe there’s an upside to all this

And two days before the anniversary of the Mumbai attacks!
