What I said was…? No it wasn’t. Both Obama and Holder have been guaranteeing a guilty verdict in this trial since the decision was made to try them in New York. And somehow, this is supposed to convince our enemies how fair our court system is? Or is it intended simply to convince the American people that the New York Five will be convicted - without any real substance to the claim - a propaganda attempt to make us feel comfortable with civilian trials of foreign terrorists in the U.S.?
Obama’s and Holder’s statements have already prejudiced the jury pool and could cause the trial to end in a mistrial. Under the law, the government would then be compelled to release KSM and the other four terrorists on American soil. Their very statements alone assure that a “fair trial” would be impossible.

I really think that a decent defense attorney can get a mistrial declared based on public comments and the people of the U.S. will have had enough if that occurs.

I think the focus of the trial will be on showing that Bush and Cheney are guilty of war crimes. And I think a mistrial is guaranteed.
Just where is this impartial jury supposed to come from?

All it’ll take is for one muslim to be on the jury and refuse to vote to convict. Or one muzzie sympathiser, one one hard-core Bush hater.
One fool can jack up the whole system through jury nullification and the prosecution would have to consider whether to try again later with a different jury. Millions of dollars lost, no justice served, everyone’s unhappy.

With THIS Democrat-run Congress? I beg to differ. I don’t know which is worse: thinking the president may have secretly wanted such a release and “misspoke” accidently on purpose OR was so inept that his bone-headed yammering led to the identical result. We will all be safer once he has left office, whenever and however that occurs.

Holder is having a hard time finding prosecutor’s because they have been fighting for terrorists rights in the past. No doubt Holder’s law firm is out completely or will Obama somehow find a pass for the terrorists law firm? 100 million plus for this trial and Holder wants some of that action.

Are they setting us up for American citizens against Obama to be tried in the same way? The ones brought up on charges for Obama hate crimes bill be tried in a similar fashion so he can put them in camps?

Holder and the 0 are just getting to a boiling point, mainly because they have been subverted from their explicit marching orders (losing the 0 lympics, and on and on, as far back as possible rioting in the streets of an American anarchy last fall). Funny, I thought that was the list of presidents whose birth facts were not in question (except for maybe Arthur). Could it be that the people on that list were well-known to their communities, and the facts of their birth were not in dispute?

The country that introduced the births, marriages and deaths registration was England. I stand corrected but in the English speaking world, that country was the first- others copied.
This act took effect in 1837. It was the church authorities that had the baptismal registers, which of course lead to some information, but hard to access. The United States did not have birth certificates- again I stand to be corrected, until 1900. Even then it was not uniform.
A bit of a long screed by me, my hobby is genealogy. Again, the census of the United States following the practice in 1841 in England was pretty well done, and comprehensive in the USA by 1851. I note the registration of one Chester Arthur, born Fairfield, Vermont, his mother born in Vermont and father born in Ireland.
The census could have been a useful tool, because it would have noted a future president's birth, when likely it was genuine information. The more this goes on, the more fascinating and indeed frustrating it becomes. IMHO the public has a right to know.

We are dealing with a man who was spent most of his pre-adult life outside the US.
He has suspiciously been registered under a foreign name and attended a US university under that name perhaps as a foreign student.
Under the circumstances, yes it is appropriate to ask for certainty that the man was a native citizen of this country.
the reason our fathers placed this as law of the land was to ensure a higher degree of certainty existed in those elected to the highest position in the land that the allegiance of that person was to this country, not elsewhere.
None who has ever occupied that office has evoked the doubt that this allegiance is there. There is clear indication we need proof of loyalty, regardless of the list you make.
Certainly William Arthur, the father of Chester Arthur was foreign born. He was born 1795/6 in Ireland. He came to live close by Vermont in Quebec, Canada. He moved to Vermont and married a Vermont lady.
It is argued that since Chester never faced election as President, it was likely the census tabulation was not widely known. The fact of a foreign born parent may have slipped through the cracks. In any case William Arthur became an American citizen in 1843, when Chester was 14 years old. An operative lawyer called Hines, claimed Arthur was born in Canada; this after President Garfield was assassinated. Vice-President Arthur took his place. Arthur was not nominated by his party to stand at the next election. The question then may have died, regarding a foreign born parent. Hines never gained any credibility.
If it comes down to two American citizens, as parents giving the term "natural born" to their offspring, of course, that would deny legitimacy to President Obama.
Malia is an Hawaiian name, according to info I was told by a freeper yesterday who has a granddaughter named Malia — I’d thought that Malia was the feminine version of Maliq/Malik, which name Malcolm X took. Also, I was told that Malia’s grandmother’s middle name is also MALIA.
