Why Is No One Laughing?
The American Spectator ^ | November 19, 2009 | R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr.

Posted on 11/19/2009 4:52:10 AM PST by IbJensen

WASHINGTON -- What would the mainstream media's response be if former governor Sarah Palin described China's economic growth to an audience of students in Shanghai as "an accomplishment unparalleled in human history"?

That is what the most inexperienced president in modern American history said in Shanghai this week. I wonder if any of the assembled journalists choked.

President Barack Obama makes such unhinged pronouncements with the kind of frequency that if he were anyone else he would be set down by the media as a boobie. I take that back. Vice President Joe Biden is equally gaffable, yet no one in the mainstream press makes him out to be a boobie.

When he was tapped to be Senator Obama's running mate he was widely acknowledged -- from ABC to NBC and with all the like-minded newspapers in between -- as a foreign policy colossus.

Both of these men, when untethered from their Teleprompters, are prone to gibberish. Actually I suspect that the President's Shanghai preposterosity appeared in the text rolling down his Teleprompter. His speechwriters are as prone to the absurd as their boss. Nonetheless, President Obama is reputed in the media to be an orator of great gifts and anyway he is very charismatic. So apparently the journalists are insensate as the gaffes, the howlers, the jaw-dropping exaggerations roll forth.

Sarah Palin is accorded no such dispensation. During the 2008 presidential campaign, in answering a foreign policy query by Katie Couric about Russia's proximity to the state Palin then served as governor, she was mocked for saying Russia is so close it can be seen from Alaska.

Obama is a lousy orator. He's even a lousy teleprompter reader. Nor is he charismatic. The media keep assigning these qualities to him like they're the boobie prizes for being black. They're actually prizes for being inane, clueless, but doing a hell of a job of destroying this nation!

What Obama is is bloodless.

I wonder if any of the assembled journalists choked.

Certainly none of them wrote down that particular quote.

The 0ne used to be charismatic when all he was doing was running based on the well-rehearsed, fictional character and messiah story he was acting out.

Now he's got to deal with life in real time and he is clearly unfit for that challenge.

“an accomplishment unparalleled in human history”

Couldn’t you just see Obama being one of the intellectual boobs back in the 30’s who visited the Soviet Union and came back praising the robust economic gains they were making?

Now, I will admit, the economic changes in China that have taken place since the early-to-mid 1980s are pretty danged impressive. I just don’t think it’s something the U.S. President should gush over, especially one who claims to trumpet environmentalism and human rights so much.

I have spent a great deal of time trying to figure out why 0 has such great appeal to many. I have discussed it with many of his supporters in great length. Now I, from the first moment I heard him speak knew he was a self serving BS artist of the first order. His supporters on the other hand seem to be prone to buying pure BS. The only conclusion I can come to is that they are defective in the thinking area of their brain. They are ALL feelers not thinkers(at least the ones I have talked to). I consider the men to be for the most part girly men. They are typically limp wristed (not in the gay way) and raised by their mother. The women are mostly the kind who want to have someone take care of them and not have to do too much for that care.

I have put all of them on my list as sales calls if I ever have to go into house to house selling. Pure suckers.

It's too bad that Obama's lame stream supporters appear to think that since he can "pull off a good speech" with what they revere as charismatic, that this equates with truly and uniquely stellar "smarts", when, in fact, it has nothing to do with this. If this were really true, Obama would never had picked up the nickname, TOTUS- for obvious reasons.

It has been reported that President Thomas Jefferson, our Nation's third president, was not a very charismatic speaker, and he really disliked speaking in public, and therefore had very few meetings with press/public. Under todays lame stream reporting, Thomas Jefferson, probably would be tagged as bad as was G. W. Bush, because of his shyness of public speaking.

How truly wrong this would be, as we all know, that his actions, and decisions towards keeping the young Nation in the right direction as well as his words on paper (the Declaration of Independence) and his letters, etc, all support the fact that he was truly far superior and obviously more stellar than our current president, who cannot make a speech without a teleprompter. Remember, such devices were non-exisentant in Jefferson's time.

Bottom line: Obama is a very very good teleprompter devoter. Nothing more. Actually, I mis-spoke. He is a fantastic Marxist.

He has also been very good in picking his best team to push his agenda:

In my limited discussions with FUBO supporters,
I’ve concluded that it’s a matter of pure religious level FAITH that they put in the elite ruling class.

Analogous to the Christian view of God’s Will, we as inferior beings cannot know the “biggest picture” as He does, but trust Him to work out all things for Good,

so do the leftist view the actions and decisions of the elite ruling class.

“In America we have one poor indigent person for every nine working and making it. In China its flipped. You have nine poor people working for $5 a day, maybe even $2 a day, for every well-to-do middle class $20K per-year person. "" President Obama is reputed in the media to be an orator of great gifts ""

Obama is not a great orator; he does not even rise to the level of a poor orator.

Whenever he gives a speech Obama is not even a good communicator; he lies too much and therefor is unable to communicate effectively.

As a poor communiunicator his presentation skills are in question - as you are always wondering what part of what he is reading is true.

His cantor is as if he is talking to three year olds. Very obvously stylish. With the constant use of a teleprompter - Obama at best is a reader. And when his teleprompter fails he becomes a POOR reader.

So next time you hear Obama is going to "give a speech" - translate that into Obama is going to be "giving a reading."

Probably a meaningless one at that full of points where everyone should yell "You lie" as appropriate.

NEVER give him credit for being more that a READER! - a poor one at that.

No, you are missing the point here... this is not a design failure, the engineers are showing off their ability to reveal how they can have the people on both side of this building get better cellular reception, by having the building be able to lay towards the cellular antenna.

Diagram of simplified Patent application...

This was posted on Obama's Recovery.gov as it has also been touted that this new way of building technology allowed for the creation of 327 new jobs in West Virginia's 934th district. And we all know, that website is very good in reporting the facts.

Obama is such a great orator, my wife and I play a game everytime he makes a speech and we choose to listen. The game consists of a “bet” we make with each other...how many times will we hear the master say “uh”.

Try it - you will be amazed. It works best when he is being interviewed or taking questions - Even TOTUS knows better than to spew a 100+ “uh’s” during speeches.

This is why the left fears Palin so much. They KNOW she is genuinely speaking from her core beliefs, not trying to hide them, and telling the truth.

When you put up ANY leftist politician against that, it's impossible for them to compete because they CAN'T be honest about their beliefs, or they'd get about 10% of the vote, and they can't "fake sincerity" well enough to stand in the light of TRUE sincerity.

Conservatives worry that their audience won't understand their agenda and core beliefs. Liberals worry that they WILL.

That is what the ..president .. said in Shanghai this week.
"unparalleled in human history". That boy doesn't think too much of himself does he.

Harnessing FIRE, mere piddle.
The invention of the WHEEL, ha, that was nothing.
'Inventing' the concept of 'zero' in math. Who needs it.
And Pi, π, (3.1415926.......), Ha coulda done it in his sleep.
And the Pyramids, irrelevant. Barry & SEIU could build 'em in a week.
The Magnetic Compass, and Telescope, pshaw, no big deal.
Einstein's Special & General Theories of Relativity, and E=mc2 -- boring.
Etc, etc, etc,
This kid is mentally ill if he believes this unparalleled 'carp'.
Even Hitler wasn't that bonkers.

Once again, Barry proves my Tagline correct.

However, I would also add to the Obama supporters:

1) Stuck in the 60’s baby boomers
2) College kids who voted for Obama because they THOUGHT it was an American Idol show.
3) The 96%er’s

I often engage in debate with the liberals I encounter and there whole dialogue consists of feelings and emotions.

Furthermore, I find it entertaining listening to the lefties rabble on about LIBERTY and completely disregard PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY that go with these rights.

The lefts world is a small Utopian bubble and the inside is painted so they can’t see reality.

Little Diomede and Big Diomede

The islands are separated by an international border as well as the International Date Line which is approximately 1 km (0.62 mi) from each island. At the closest distance between Little Diomede and Big Diomede, the two islands are about 4 km (2.5 mi) apart. The small habitation on Little Diomede Island is centered to the west side of the island at the village of Diomede.

The Big Diomede Island is the easternmost point of Russia and despite being the westernmost of the two islands, it is considered east on the map. In the same way, the Little Diomede Island, (USA), despite being easternmost of the two islands, is considered west on the map. The confusion between east and west near the 180th meridian is due to the very definition of a geographic coordinate system. For geographical and political reasons, even if located on the 169th meridian west, Big Diomede is included in what we call the eastern part of the world. Yet further east than Little Diomede, Alaska's Attu Island in the Aleutian Islands is the westernmost point of the United States even if located on the 173rd meridian east, also the westernmost point of the Earth.

I'm still trying to figure out what is incorrect about that. The US and Europe advanced through the industrial revolution and into our current high tech age in a couple of centuries. China went from the early industrial revolution (blast furnaces and railroads, maybe not even domestically produced) to just behind us technologically in about 25 years. What other country has done that? Japan might be close after WW II, but they did it on a much smaller scale.

It seems like the remarkable thing is not China's huge economic resurgence, it is that 0bama is giving capitalism a shout-out while imposing marxism here at home.

In the 50s and 60s the left wanted to impose socialism because they thought it would work. Now they want to impose it precisely because it *doesn't* work and they want to reduce or eliminate America's economic and political influence around the world.

They - including The 0ne - are intentionally punishing the United States with their own failed marxist superstitions.

As another said on another thread, America now resembles one of the seamier African nations, ruled by Africans and ruined by Africans. These rats who have taken refuge in this evil administration are mainly true Communists whose intent is to morph a nation that was partially good into a Communist Paradise.

They'll do that anyway they can, but if their complicit Congress fails them they'll find ways even more devious than what has been tried so far.

We're in a war alright and the most important one isn't with the muzzies; rather it's with the hyphenated Africans that are now running the show. (Into the ground.)

Our economy would be amazingly impressive if we hadn't lost most of our manufacturing to China and a few other Asian nations.

When we look out across the vast American landscape what do we see?

Houses, condomiums, swimming pools, libraries, schools, post offices, state government buildings, central government buildings, a few museums, restaurants and very little else. No more manufacturing plants as the central government has deliberately forced them to seek haven in other nations that are tax and operational friendly.

Time to take a very large Bunyonesque axe to government and don't cease chopping until it's decimated and rendered harmless.

It's difficult being a communist president when most of the nation identifies itself as conservative.

What is an African-African and his African administration to do?

Lay back, light up and think about the next lie or devious action that can be taken to complete the assignment: bring down America!

With Biden being so damned stupid and if he didn't look into a mirror at himself twenty times daily, he'd think he was an African too and not a scroungy Scranton (goes there often) Irish-American.

It's easy and correct to blame government, but it's not the only thing to blame.

If we're honest, we also have ourselves to blame, because we expect high salaries, sumptuous benefits, big retirement plans, and all that stuff.... and protection from failure.

And I have to tell you, I like having that.

The problem is, it makes American employees cost too much, relative to the semi-slave labor in China and elsewhere.
