What do we do about a POTUS who intentionally loses a war?
Vanity | 11/13/2009 | Neville72

Posted on 11/13/2009 3:47:54 AM PST by Neville72

The Kenyan has dithered since August and apparently will continue to dither while our troops remain dangerously undermanned, that according to the field commander, the theater commander and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

He seems intent on slow-playing this, using political excuses, until the circumstances on the ground are so dire and hopeless that the prospects of winning are non-existent.

What then?

What then? Why that’s so simple ~ the war must then be taken to the homefront.

Fire him in the next election.

If you can get enough people to agree with you.

But by then, he will have so many people on the government teat, that voting him out will be near impossible.

We will do what civilized, sane people do, of course. We will vote out his party in Congress, and then vote him out of the White House, and remind people again and again of what happens when they vote for a celebrity.

In the meantime, we push the opposing party to try conservatism.

Obama will probably close bases in Japan, right now he is doing a presser with the PM, I am getting the impression the PM has some demands for Obama even though they claim they are on an equal ground.

Obama is waffling around giving any direct answer, it seems like the teleprompter isn’t working again. He forgot the questions.

As the war moves to the homeland the POTUS is no longer relevant. He'll simply be another refugee in a camp out in the Appalachians somewhere trying to find toilet paper and antidiarrheal medicine.

My fear from the time the Democrats had a chance of winning the presidency was that they would intentionally create a "Vietnam" out of either or both Iraq and Afghanistan. They treasonously, treacherously, and wickedly hate and simultaneously use our brave soldiers.

The hippie/liberal heyday was the loss to the communist in Vietnam. They make me sick.

Glad you noticed. Yes, it definitely has “returned to the homefront”. “W”’s doctrine was to fight them there so we don’t need to fight them here. When the Obamista faction abandoned the Bush Doctrine they re-opened the American theatre of action.

I voted for Sarah Palin.

McCain would have been short term better militarily than the communist, but the long term results would be the same.

We need to vote along our principles. The Republicans must stop putting out wishy washy Democrat/Socialist lites. If they don't then we have to vote third party even if it means the Democrat/Communist win another one. We can't sacrifice principles.

I know, I know.

It must be very very difficult for the Prime Minister of Japan to discuss any binding resolution with an usurper of another nation, and don’t anybody think for a second the Japanese are NOT aware of Obamas illegitimate ascension to be POTUS.

I strongly suspect that the PM is trying valiantly to “save face” by dealing with Obama in a fashion that will make it appear that Japan is the stronger in any political outcome in the near future.

Obama will concede on several issues I think, first he will agree to re-locate any or all US bases in Japan, and then will agree to no US nuclear re-fueling...ever within Japan.

The prospect of winning has been non-existent since December 2001, which is the outer bound of when the Afghanistan punitive expedition should have been over. The last eight years have been taken up by aimless wandering around and idiotic, fantastic social interventions, which has caused the death of hundreds of fine young Americans.

Bush's failure to plan and execute a strategy for Afghanistan does not excuse, however, Obama's deliberate plan to wreck the Army and cause a catastrophic defeat. In Obama's fantasy world, it's always 1968. Born too late, he plans to re-create the social and military conditions that led to the radical Congress of 1974, which was the Left's greatest victory (so far) in its long-running war on normality.

I voted for Sarah Palin, too- on the NY CONSERVATIVE Party ticket!

Not voting on the GOP line made me feel even better about my vote- but I am feeling awful about what is going down in the country- and I have despised the Usurper since Day One.

Which will come first- elections or civil disobedience?

Interestingly, I heard BOTH Mark Levin AND Laura Ingraham discussing civil disobedience on their shows this week.

The rumblings are certainly getting louder, but we are in a race against an insane administration bent on destroying US.

Bush should have finished the job when he was in office. I no longer believe in the arguments used to keep us in Afghanistan. To wit, fight them there so we don’t have to fight them here...They are here! Prevent (Pakistan’s) nukes from falling into hands of Al Qaeda and Taliban...until when, they can get them from Iran? Our rules of engagement are getting our troops killed. This war cannot be won. It will be fought to a draw or a negotiation of some kind. They are already laying the groundwork. Over a third of the country has been ceded to the Taliban. The administration talks about “moderate” Taliban. They’re talking about how Karzai’s government is not a good partner. I think it’s cover so we can pull out—I just worry how long that will take and how many more of our bravest and best will be killed, maimed and permanently disabled.

Where does the Taliban and Al Qaeda get their funding? Learn and teach their sick ideology? Cut off that money and destroy or compete with the madrassas and maybe we can make some serious progress.

“But by then, he will have so many people on the government teat, that voting him out will be near impossible.”

uhhh....
not to beat a dead horse but “what then”?

Obama is not 100% to blame for this mess we are in. He’s just representing the scum that is in control now.
Removing Obama won’t solve the problem. McCain wouldn’t have been much better with the exception that Palin would be waiting in the wings.
We have a deep problem in this country (world?) which won’t be solved quickly or easily. I have hope in the future only because I know that God is in charge. I have deep fear of what will happen over the next few months/years. Those of you who may be a little weak in faith; don’t be deceived! God didn’t promise to waive a magic wand and remove us from worldly turmoil. God didn’t protect millions of believers who have gone before us from hardships or even death. We must hang on to our faith no matter what. That extends to the one’s we elect. We can not allow any more rinos to lead us if we expect to get out of this mess. I will take an oath right now that I will not vote for “the lesser of two evils” anymore. We need Godly leaders!

It is important that everyone learn from history what almost inevitably happens when the legions lose confidence in their leadership, especially after that leadership causes military disasters.

If things get as ugly as they may well (but I pray they do not) get, can the Democrat regime count on the legions? Are there units who would cross the Rubicon with a charismatic and successful general? Would the Democratic Congress and its forces be any more successful than Pompey and the Roman Senate facing Caesar? Will we have another Washington to thrice refuse the crown?

We may well learn the answers to these questions in coming years, questions that would have been literally unthinkable even a decade ago.
